  • The purpose of this study was to suggest educational development plans that should provide better small business education by solidifying it and maximizing its effectiveness in order to reinforce the competitiveness of small business. As the results of the analysis, 15 essential tasks were suggested. The conclusions drawn from the study were as follows: First, SEDA should establish a practical road map in a long-term basis, and precede small business education by coping with social changes. Second, SEDA should expand the inclusive capacity that builds comprehensively and nationally the network with EHRD, its local branches and Small Business Centers. Third, it was quite suggestive that SEDA should follow up one of major strategies, that is optimizing curriculum, by developing proper curriculum based on small business life cycle and approaching it in a systematic way.

  • The aim of the research was to analyze a correlation between rural villages and a space of amenity resources in order to provide objective basic data for rural renewal planning in the future. 15 villages were selected to analyze amenity resources. A Space Syntax Method(SSM) was used to analyze a spacial structure of each village and location characteristics of amenity resources. Finally, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS) was used for a cluster analysis. The results of spacial analysis showed that the MeanDepth of rural villages was 4.482 and Global Integration Value(GInteg) was 0.956. Relatively, a depth was lower and GInteg was higher, compared to other villages. Rural villages were easily recognized and accessible by outsiders, compared to mountain and fishing villages. In the case of rural villages, the MeanDepth of amenity resources was low and GInteg was high in the results of cluster analysis using a nonhierachical method. Results indicated that an access was easy and amenity resources were closely located each other. However, the deviation of each village was great in mountain villages. This research suggests that an effective maintenance of road network for improving accessibility would be given priority in an undeveloped farming and fishing villages' renewal. Especially, using a spacial analysis in village renewal planning process can improve accessibility and maximize an utilization of public facilities and amenity resources.

  • Traffic assignment has been used both for predicting travel demands and for evaluating the tools for alleviating congestion on road network in advance. Some assignment models have been proposed such as equivalent mathematical minimization method, variational inequality problem, nonlinear complementary problem and fixed point method, in following the principle of Wardrop (1952) that no driver can not Improve his travel cost by unilaterally changing his route. Recently Jin(2005a) presented a traffic assignment model based on dynamic process. This paper proposes a solution algorithm for the model of Jin and assesses the performances. Compared to the Frank-Wolfe method, which has been wildly used for solving the existing assignment models, the proposed algorithm is expected to be more efficient because it does not need to evaluate the objective function. Two numerical examples are used for assessing the algorithm, and they show that the algorithm converges to user equilibrium of Wardrop.

  • Traditionally, a congestion charge based on first-best congestion pricing theory, namely, the theory of marginal cost pricing theory, is equal to the difference between marginal social cost and marginal private cost. It is charged on each link so as to derive a user equilibrium flow pattern to a system optimal one. Based on this theory this paper investigates on the characteristics of first-best congestion pricing of multiple user class on road with variable demand, and presents two methods for analysis of social and spatial equity. For these purposes, we study on the characteristics of first-best congestion pricing derived from system optimal in time and in monetary unit, and analyze equity from this congestion pricing with an example network.

  • This study analyzed the uncertainty of the forecasted link traffic flow, and estimated of the interval link flow using Korea Transport Data Base (KTDB) to consider those risks into the feasibility study. In the paper, the uncertainty was analyzed according to the stochastic variation of the KTDB origin-destination traffic. It was found that the uncertainty of the entire network traffic forecasts was 15.4% in average,. when the stochastic variation of the KTDB was considered. The results showed that the more congested the roads were, the bigger the uncertainty of forecasted link traffic flow were found. In particular, we estimated the variance of the forecasted traffic flow, and suggested interval estimates of the forecasted traffic flow instead of point estimates which were presented in the common feasibility studies. These results are expected to contribute the quantitative evaluation of uncertain road investment projects and to provide valuable information to the decision makers for the transport investment.

  • In the rapid growth of cities, road has heavy traffic and many buildings are under constructions. These kinds of environments make more difficulty for a person who is visually handicapped to walk comfortable. To alleviate the problem, we introduce Navigation System to help walking for Visually Impaired Person. It follows, service center give instant real time monitoring to visually impaired person for their convenient by this system. This Navigation System has GPS, Camera, Audio and Wi-Fi(wireless fidelity) available. It means that GPS location and Camera image information can be sent to service center by Wi-Fi network. To be specific, transmitted GPS location information enables service center to figure out the visually impaired person's whereabouts and mark the location on the map. By delivered Camera image information, service center monitors the visually impaired person's view. Also, they can offer live guidance to visually impaired person by equipped Audio with live talking. To sum up, Android based Portable Navigation System is a specialized navigation system that gives practical effect to realize more comfortable walking for visually impaired person.

  • A GIS technique was developed for aggregate resources management and transport route analysis. In the study, the management of aggregate resources deals with resources evaluation and control of aggregate supply. The computer system was specially designed for this analysis on the basis of relational database model, and it was named ARIS(Aggregate Resources Information System). A Vector database for this study area of Chungcheong - Do was established for analysis of ARIS. In network analysis, there are many essential elements such as road name, speed limit and width, turns and stops etc. Impedance was also measured for the resistance against transportation of aggregate resources. Actually, the impedances are attributes of arcs, turns and stops. Finally, the feasibility of ARIS was tested to use as a decision making tool of aggregate resources management.

  • A path generation method considering the tendencies of users is required because users has the preferred routes through the properties such as time, distance, and congest. The existing method must input the additional information about user's tendency to generate path considering moving tendencies. However, mobile device have the inconvenient interface. Therefore users are reluctant to input additional information for path generation. In this paper, we propose the path generation method considering the tendencies of users without additional input of users tendencies. To show the superiority of the proposed method, we compared it with shortest distance or time path through performance evaluation.

  • The present USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) node deployment practices have many limitations in terms of positional connectivity. The aim of this research was to minimize a redundancy of USN route nodes, by integrating spatially weighted parameters such as visibility, proximity to cell center, road density, building density and cell overlapping ratio into a comprehensive GIS database. This spatially weighted approach made it possible to reduce the number of route nodes (11) required in the study site as compared to that of the grid network method (24). The field test for RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) indicates that the spatially weighted deployment could comply with the quality assurance standard for node connectivity, and that reduced route nodes do not show a significant degree of signal fluctuation for different site conditions. This study demonstrated that the spatially weighted deployment can be used to minimize a redundancy of USN route nodes in a routine manner, and the quantitative evidence removing a redundancy of USN route nodes could be utilized as major tools to ensure the strong signal in the USN, that is frequently encountered in real applications.

  • In this paper, I illustrate the some examples of socio-economic influence of railroad in Korea. The Korean railroad has been running for 109 years now since it started operation in 1899. The opening of railroad in Korea has been affecting influence in our society not only transportation but also infrastructure building and the formation of new cities which they were built along the rail network like Daejeon. I have come up with some examples, which railroad has affected the in our society. For example, the changes of transport route from road to railroad, emerging the new cities, industries and culture. This paper contributes to look over the various function of railroad in Korea. Moreover it will be compared with Japan's railroad influence in his country. It gives us a peculiarity and universality in railroad's function including colonial policy
