도로표지판 인식을 위한 사영 변환을 이용한 왜곡된 표지판의 기하교정 (Geometrical Reorientation of Distorted Road Sign using Projection Transformation for Road Sign Recognition)

  • In this paper, we describe the reorientation method of distorted road sign by using projection transformation for improving recognition rate of road sign. RSR (Road Sign Recognition) is one of the most important topics for implementing driver assistance in intelligent transportation systems using pattern recognition and vision technology. The RS (Road Sign) includes direction of road or place name, and intersection for obtaining the road information. We acquire input images from mounted camera on vehicle. However, the road signs are often appeared with rotation, skew, and distortion by perspective camera. In order to obtain the correct road sign overcoming these problems, projection transformation is used to transform from 4 points of image coordinate to 4 points of world coordinate. The 4 vertices points are obtained using the trajectory as the distance from the mass center to the boundary of the object. Then, the candidate areas of road sign are transformed from distorted image by using homography transformation matrix. Internal information of reoriented road signs is segmented with arrow and the corresponding indicated place name. Arrow area is the largest labeled one. Also, the number of group of place names equals to that of arrow heads. Characters of the road sign are segmented by using vertical and horizontal histograms, and each character is recognized by using SAD (Sum of Absolute Difference). From the experiments, the proposed method has shown the higher recognition results than the image without reorientation.

판별분석을 이용한 산악지역 도로-하천 연결 특성 분석 (Analysis of Road-to-Stream Linkage Characteristics in a Mountain Catchment using the Discriminant Analysis)

  • This study analyzed the linkage characteristics between road runoff and the nearest streams in mountain regions using a discriminant analysis. The road-to-stream linkage is an important characteristic to evaluate whether the contaminant on road surface is transported directly into the nearby channel system. This study evaluated a total of 51 drainage outlets of mountain roads near the Soyanggang Dam. The linkage between road and stream, slope and width of road, and other information necessary for the discriminant analysis have been collected by in situ investigation and by analyzing the Digital Elevation Model. Finally, as independent variables in the discriminant analysis, the contributing road representing the road characteristics (similar to the runoff from the road drainage outlet) and the distance and slope of the connecting channel between road and nearest stream were selected. Among these three, the distance was found to have the highest discriminant power, the contributing road the lowest. Using the discriminant function derived, 40 out of 51 cases (78.4%) were correctly discriminated and the remaining 11 cases (21.6%) were wrongly discriminated. Reasons of wrongly discriminated cases were mainly due to change in drainage outlet direction, excessive runoff, change in road-to-stream path, etc. This result also indicates that the road-to-stream linkage can be introduced or prohibited by exactly the same way.

노면 상관도를 고려한 3차원 노면형상 생성에 관한 연구 (Generation of Three Dimensional Road Surface Profiles with Considering Coherence Relation)

  • 본 연구에서는 ISO, MIRA, 그리고 Wong에 의해 제안된 노면 PSD 함수를 기초의 3차원 노면의 생성 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 주어진 노면 거칠기 특성이 PSD 함수를 사용하여 2차원 노면을 생성한 뒤 상관도를 고려하여 횡방향으로 연속적으로 배치함으로써 실제 노면 특성에 유사한 3차원 노면을 생성하였다. 생성된 노면의 상관도를 평가한 결과 실제 노면의 상관도 특성과도 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 또한, 3차원 노면을 자동으로 생성하기 위하여 반복적으로 횡방향 노면을 생성시켜 주는 프로그램을 개발하였다.

자계 극배치를 이용한 지능형 차량용 도로 정보의 인식 (Recognition of road information using magnetic polarity for intelligent vehicles)

  • For an intelligent vehicle driving which uses magnetic markers and magnetic sensors, we can get every kind of road information while moving the vehicle if we use the code that is encoded with N, S pole direction of markers. If we make it an only aim to move the vehicle, it becomes easy to control the vehicle the more we put markers close. By the way, to recognize the direction of a marker pole it is much better that the markers have no effect each other. To get road informations and move the vehicle autonomously we propose the methods of arranging magnetic sensors and algorithm of recognizing the position of the vehicle with those sensors. We verified the effectiveness of the methods with computer simulation.

교통단속카메라 전·후방을 고려한 사고 저감효과 분석 -울산시 북구를 대상으로- (Analysis of Traffic Accident Reduction Effects considering Monitoring Direction of Traffic Camera)

  • PURPOSES : Traffic cameras have been installed to reduce traffic accidents. The effectiveness of traffic cameras has been proved by dozens of studies, but recently questions over its effectiveness have been raised by a series of studies. In this study, the effectiveness of traffic cameras was analyzed with a focus on different road environments. METHODS : The effectiveness of the traffic cameras was analyzed by extracting the occurence frequency before and after camera installation. The effect of reduction was analyzed comprehensively considering the installation position, monitoring direction, and surrounding environment of traffic cameras. RESULTS : The result of this study is as follows. First, the installation of cameras in an area with relatively low accidental traffic was more effective. Secondly, the effect of camera installation on car-to-pedestrian collisions was better than that of car-to-car collisions. Thirdly, accidents tended to occur more frequently when cameras were installed in front of the accident-prone owing to the negative spill-over effect. CONCLUSIONS : The result can be used to guide placement of traffic cameras. Moreover, the installation of cameras with consideration of the road environment is expected to contribute to a reduction in traffic fatalities.

9축센서 기반의 도로시설물 충돌감지 알고리즘 (Collision Detection Algorithm using a 9-axis Sensor in Road Facility)

  • Road facilities such as CCTV poles have potential risk of collision accidents with a car. A collision detection algorithm installed in the facility allows the collision accident to be known remotely. Most collision detection algorithms are operated by simply focusing on whether a collision have occurred, because these methods are used to measure only acceleration data from a 3-axis sensor to detect collision. However, it is difficult to detect other detailed information such as malfunction of the sensor, collision direction and collision strength, because it is not known without witness the accident. Therefore, we proposed enhanced detection algorithm to get the collision direction, and the collision strength from the tilt of the facility after accident using a 9-axis sensor in this paper. In order to confirm the performance of the algorithm, an accuracy evaluation experiment was conducted according to the data measurement cycle and the invocation cycle to an detection algorithm. As a result, the proposed enhanced algorithm confirmed 100% accuracy for 50 weak collisions and 50 strong collisions at the 9-axis data measurement cycle of 10ms and the invocation cycle of 1,000ms. In conclusion, the algorithm proposed is expected to provide more reliable and detailed information than existing algorithm.

수치영상을 이용한 도로 노면관리시스템 개발 (Development of Road Surface Management System using Digital Imagery)

  • 본 연구에서는 수치영상을 이용하여 아스팔트 콘크리트포장 도로를 대상으로 차량에 비디오 카메라를 설치하여 도로에서 일정하게 차량속도를 유지하면서 촬영된 수치 영상정보로 객체 지향적인 언어인 Delphi를 이용하여 도로노면정보(균열, 소성변형, 종평탄성)를 획득할 수 있는 도로노면 관리시스템을 개발하고, 개발된 시스템은 동영상 및 그래프를 이용하여 시각화 효과를 증진시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 다중영상표정과 광속조정법에 의해 결정된 도로노면의 3차원 좌표의 정확도를 분석한 결과 표준 오차의 평균은 X방향으로 0.0427m, Y방향으로 0.0527m, Z방향으로 0.1539m로 나타났다. 이 값은 우리나라에서 현재 제작하여 사용하고 있는 축척 1:1,000 이하의 지도제작 및 GIS 자료로서 충분히 활용성이 있다. 수치영상을 이용하여 12개소에 대하여 균열폭의 정확도를 분석한 결과 표준오차가 ${\pm}0.256mm$로 정밀도가 아주 높게 나타났으며, 또한 소성변형량을 비교하기 위하여 4개소의 실측된 횡단면과 영상으로부터 추출된 횡단면을 비교한 결과 최대 오차는 10.80mm로 나타났으나, 작업능률면에서는 실용성이 있다고 판단된다.

무인 헬리콥터 사진촬영시스템을 이용한 도로 절개지 붕괴사면 3차원 입체 지형 추출 (3D Stereoscopic Terrain Extraction of Road Cut Failure Slope Using Unmanned Helicopter Photography System)

  • 붕괴된 사면의 정보는 제2차 피해의 발생우려가 있기 때문에 신속 정확하게 지형자료를 획득할 수 있어야 하고, 필요에 따라서 접근하지 않고 간접적인 측량방식으로 보다 효율적으로 표현할 수도 있어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 무인 헬리콥터 사진촬영시스템을 이용하여 붕괴된 도로 절개지 사면에 근접하여 상공에서 정지비행으로 대상지역의 영상을 촬영하였다. 그리고, 무타켓 Total Station에 의해 관측된 점과 영상해석에 의해 분석된 좌표점 10개와 비교한 결과 절대치 평균값은 X축 방향으로 평균 0.056m, Y축 방향으로 0.082m, Z축 방향으로 0.066m으로 나타났다. 또한, 검사점 10점에 대한 오차의 RMSE는 X축 방향으로 0.015636m, Y축 방향으로 0.021319m, Z축 방향으로 0.018734m로 나타났다. 따라서, 이러한 절개지 붕괴사면의 지형에 대하여 관계형 영상정합방법에 의해 접근하지 못하는 위험지역에서의 사면 범위와 각사면의 종 횡단면을 나타낼 수가 있었다.

BIM 중장기전략 수립을 위한 정책방향 설정 (Direction of Policy on Long-term Strategy Development for BIM)

  • Introduction of BIM(Building Information Modeling) was led by public institutions, and all buildings over a certain size were obligated to apply BIM. However, through various attempt to apply BIM to actual practice, people had doubt whether it is a usable technology in reality appeared. Therefore, this study investigated cases about implementation strategies of foreign countries, and conducted survey on BIM performances and preparation in architectural design firms. On the basis of this, it suggests the long-term development strategy of BIM and the basic direction of road map to adopt BIM effectively to domestic architectural design market. After considering the cases abroad and the results of survey, it is identified that incentive policies supporting finance and education should be carried out together with partially obligation method led by government in order to introduce BIM into architectural design market effectively by reflecting current situation of architectural design firms.

  • In this paper, a disk-type piezoelectric transformer for the high power was investigated with the variation of road resistance. The diameter and thickness of a disk-type piezoelectric transformer was 45mm and 4mm, respectively. The piezoelectric ceramics was composed to PZT-PMN-PSN. The ratio of driving electrode and generating electrode is 2:1. The poling direction of driving part and generating part are the same. A voltage step-up ratio increased with increasing the load resistance, $R_L$, so it reached 60 under no road resistance. Also, the maximum efficiency of 97% was obtained.
