  • This paper is a sequel of the Part I paper[1] on the modified digital Costas loop. In this Part II we analyze the performance of the system in the presence of noise. It is shown that, when the input signal is corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise, the noise process in the loop becomes Rician as a result of the tan-1 (.) function of the phase error detector. Steady state probability density functions of phase errors of the first-and second-order loops have been obtained by solving the Chapman-Kolmogorov equation numerically. Also, the mean and variance of phase error in the steady state have been obtained analytically, and are compared with the results obtained by computer simulation.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the error rate Performance of convolution coded 16 QAM signal in impulsive noise Environments. We used convolution rode and maximum ratio combining diversity for performance improvement. We analyzed the error rate performance of 16 QAM signal in implusive noise environments compared with gaussian noise environments. As a result of analysis, there is a BER segment where the efficiency of system does not improve until which limit to raise a signal power potential from impulsive noise environment when the signal power potential which goes over this limit is supplied, BER efficiency improve much more.

  • The channel capacities of various lading channels are calculated and compared with that of Gaussian noise channel to find out the decrements of channel capacity according to each fading environment. As a result, it is confirmed that the channel capacities in Rician and m-distribution fading channels approach to that of Gaussian noise channel as direct-to-indirect power ratio in Rician fading channel and fading index m in m-distribution fading channel increases respectively. And the difference between two channel capacities of Gaussian noise channel and each fading channel which is dependent on carrier-to-noise power ratio (CNR) is found. Also the improvement of channel capacity of Rayleigh fading channel by introducing two-branch diversities is obtained. For diversity reception, predetection maximal-ratio and postdetection selective combining techniques are adopted. The results show that the improvement of channel capacity by predetection maximal-ratio combining diversity is superior to the postdetection selective combining diversitiy regardless of correlation coefficient between two diversity branches in Raylelgh fading channel. The best improvement is achieved when two branches are noncorrelative in both two diversify techniques and as correlation coefficient of two diversity branches is smaller, the improvement of channel capacity is greater.

  • The error performance of BPSK and QPSK signals with diversity reception in mobile-satellite channel is investigated considering nonlinearity of TWT (Traveling Wave Tube) amplifier in the presence of AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) on the uplink and downlink paths. It is assumed that the fading on the dounlink path forms a Rician distribution. The Rician distribution is approximated by discrete probability values. The values are firstly found by Classical Moment Technique.

  • We consider a two-hop multiple-relay network implemented with opportunistic decode-and-forward cooperative strategy, where the first hop and second hop links experience different fading (Rayleigh and Rician). We derive the exact expressions of end-to-end outage probability and analyze the approximate results in high signal-to-noise ratio region. The analysis shows that the same diversity order can be achieved even in different mixed fading environments. Simulation results are provided to verify our analysis.

  • In this paper, trellis coded 16 QAM Multi-Carrior CDMA system is proposed, Using the equivalent signal-to-noise plus interference Power ratio (SNIR) of Multi-Carrier CDMA system in the reverse link, capacity and BER performance of trellis coded 16 QAM Multi-Carrier CDMA system are analyzed taking into account the number of multi-carrier, the number of multiple access user, the number of SC/MRC diversity branch, and Rician fading parameter in multiuser interference and Rician fading channel. And the capacity and the BER performance of trellis coded 16 QAM Multi-Carrier CDMA system using selection combining (SC) and maximal ratio cabining (MRC) diversity are numerically compared. Obtained results show that the capacity of proposed system depends on the number of multi-carrier. ti is found that the trellis coded 16 QAM Multi-Carrier CDMA system with SC/MRC antenna diversity scheme is efficient to combat multipath fading and to increase the maximum number of users in high speed data communication. With the results of analysis. MRC diversity technique provides the performance fro high speed data communications. Finally, we present a numerical approach to derive the capacity and the BER performance and to find the maximum number of multiple access user for Multi-Carrier system in multiuser interference and Rician fading channel.

  • In this paper, we compare the existing channel estimation technique for 4S (Ship to Ship, Ship to Shore) maritime communications under AWGN channel model, Rician fading channel model, and Rayleigh fading channel model respectively. In general, the received signal is corrupted by multipath and ISI (Inter Symbol Interference). The estimation of a time-varying multipath fading channel is a difficult task for the receiver. Its performance can be improved if an appropriate channel estimation filter is used. The simulation is performed in MATLAB. In this simulation, we use the popular estimation algorithms, LMS (Least Mean Square) and RLS (Recursive Least-Squares) are compared with respect to AWGN, Rician and Rayleigh channels.

  • In this paper we derive the probability density function of the phase error of the received signal over Rician fading channel and verify its propriety as the probability density function using the zeroth moment. In general, for the error probability over fading channel we compute the error probability in the first place when it is only AWGN, and then we get the final result by averaging the first result and the probability density function of the corresponding fading channel. In this paper, however, we compute the error probability by double integration after the probability density function over fading channel is computed.

  • In this paper, performance of DSRC systems is analyzed with considering the real roads and height of vehicles. The channels are modeled as 2-Ray and 4-Ray with a direct wave and reflected waves by a road and buildings in a physical layer because DSRC keeps LOS propagation characteristics, and the pass loss for each model is calculated respectively. Rician factor is obtained through the calculated path loss on two models for DSRC, and the performance of the systems is analyzed in AWGN and Rician fading channels, Impulsive noise and Rician fading channels respectively. As a result, in Rician fading channels with impulsive noise(A=0.2, ${\Gamma}^{\prime}=0.22$), BER is below $10^{-6}$ when the distance is farther than 80[m] and 40[m] in 2-Ray model and 4-Ray model respectively. For performance improvement, BCH coding scheme and MRC diversity scheme are adopted.
