Trend and Perception of Forest Revenue Generation in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

  • The study examined revenue generation trend and perception of challenges facing it by forestry personnel in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Data for the study was generated through primary and secondary sources. Primary sources involved the use of questionnaire which was administered to all Forest Officers and Uniformed Field Staff in all the 31 Forest Division and Headquarter in the state. Secondary sources involved collation of generated revenue from all the divisions for the study period. Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including Least square regression. The results indicated an increasing trend in forest revenue for the state statistically defined by the function y=45631x-900000000+e (p>0.05) with a coefficient of determination of 0.7492 or 74.92%. There was also a positive correlation (r=0.866) between generated revenue and year for the 20 years under review. The mean revenue was ₦4776247.00 with the highest generated revenue (₦9823550.00) in 2014. However, majority (55.13%) of the respondents perceived revenue generation in the state to be decreasing and attributed the decline majorly to lack of mobility (16.84%) and insufficient man power (15.79%). Attitude and level of offence in the study area was perceived to be fairly cooperative (62.81%) and high (43.80%), while recruitment of more personnel (11.05%) and provision of mobility (10.03%) was considered an effective means of improving revenue generation in the state. Also, educating the people and regular patrol by forest personnel was considered as the best ways of curtailing forest offences in the area. The study recommended increased allocation of funds to the sector in addition to tackling the challenges faced by the personnel.

  • Recently, Korea's electric industry has experienced substantial changes in its structure and function including the introduction of competition in the generation sector. Korea is in the early stages of market competition where the market price is determined by generation costs. In the future, the market Price will be determined by generators'bids. Therefore, the generators'profit is determined by market pool price, the prospects of pool price are very important for new capacity investment decision made by generators and IPPS. This study analyzes hourly marginal costs and LOLP considering basic generation mix and characteristics develops the relationship of pool price and Profit by generation-type using the change in reserve margin, and proposes basic direction for profits variation and supply-demand analysis in the electricity market in future.

원자력 발전에 대한 과세방안 연구 (Assessing Possible Tax Plans on Nuclear Electricity Generation in Korea)

  • 우리나라에서 원자력 발전은 전체 발전량 대비 비율이 높고 단가는 상대적으로 낮은 기저 발전원에 해당한다. 원자력 발전의 중요성과 규모에도 불구하고, 원자력 발전에 대한 조세 및 부담금 제도는 상대적으로 미흡하다. 우리나라처럼 원자력 발전이 중요한 역할을 하는 다른 국가의 제도를 살펴보면, 발전 시설, 발전연료 소비, 전력 생산량 등을 기준으로 원자력 발전에 과세하는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 우리나라 중앙정부가 원자력 발전에 과세할 경우, 발전연료 또는 발전량을 기준으로 과세할 수 있을 것으로 판단한다. 액화천연가스 또는 유연탄을 비교대상 에너지원으로 보고, 에너지원 간의 열량당 세율이 같도록 세율을 설정하는 상황을 가정하여, 원자력 발전에 대한 과세방안을 검토한다. 발전연료에 과세할 때, 우라늄 밀리그램당 90원 수준의 세율로 과세할 수 있고, 약 4천 3백억 원의 추가적인 조세 수입이 발생할 것으로 보인다. 발전량에 과세하면, 원자력 발전량 킬로와트시당 11원 수준의 세율로 과세할 수 있고, 약 1조 6천억 원의 조세 수입이 증가할 것이다.

  • Electric generation cost in district Heating CHP system has close relationship with the level of heating price. So far, the calculation of CHP generation cost has been based on cost recovery system in which revenue requirement deducted the revenue from heating-sales. The restructuring of electricity industry determines the market-clearing price every hour and made it impossible that the loss due to the above market cost can be attributed to the generation cost. Hence, the loss is compensated by energy subsidy program in public benefit charge. This analysis derives an efficient action plan for future subsidy program.

A Study on Veracity of Raw Data based on Value Creation -Focused on YouTube Monetization

  • The five elements of big data are said to be Volume, Variety, Velocity, Veracity, and Value. Among them, data lacking the Veracity of the data or fake data not only makes an error in decision making, but also hinders the creation of value. This study analyzed YouTube's revenue structure to focus the effect of data integrity on data valuation among these five factors. YouTube is one of the OTT service platforms, and due to COVID-19 in 2020, YouTube creators have emerged as a new profession. Among the revenue-generating models provided by YouTube, the process of generating advertising revenue based on click-based playback was analyzed. And, analyzed the process of subtracting the profits generated from invalid activities that not the clicks due to viewers' pure interests, then paying the final revenue. The invalid activity in YouTube's revenue structure is Raw Data, not pure viewing activity of viewers, and it was confirmed a direct impact on revenue generation. Through the analysis of this process, the new Data Value Chain was proposed.

디지털 TV 방송서비스 수익모델과 사업자별 T-commerce 통합전략 (Digital TV Revenue Models and T-commerce strategies)

  • 본 논문은 디지털 TV방송 서비스를 중심으로 디지털 TV 방송 서비스 수익모텔을 도출하고 이를 T-commerce의 주요 어플리케이션과 매핑시켜 수익주체별 어플리케이션 통합전략 수립을 위한 기본 틀을 제시한다. 본 논문은 이를 통해 수익모델과 T-commerce의 통합적 모델을 도출함으로써 사업자별, T-commerce 어플리케이션별 수익모델 전개방향을 제시하며 각 사업별 제공사례를 통합모델의 틀 안에서 살펴본다. 주요 결과를 보면 방송사업자는 프로그램과 관련된 양방향 광고나 시청자와의 적극적인 참여를 활용한 수익창출에 보다 역점을 기울이는 전략이 필요하며 또 한편으로는 컨텐츠 사업자와 미들웨어 사업자와의 전략적 제휴를 통해 플랫폼 사업자로서의 강점을 최대한 활용하여야 할 것이다. 컨텐츠 제공자는 수수료 수익모델 중심에서 탈피하여 적극적인 서비스 제공 수익모델 개발에도 주안점을 두어야 할 것이며 미들웨어 사업자는 시스템 사용료나 컨설팅 둥의 수익모델보다는 양방향 서비스 제공을 겨냥한 새로운 서비스 개발에 역점을 두어야 할 것이다.

2단계 네트워크 DEA를 이용한 세계 주요 공항 성과 분석 (An analysis of the performance of global major airports using two-stage network DEA model)

  • Purpose: The performance of global major airports is evaluated and several research questions are examined relative to the measures characterizing airport performance. Methods: The two-stage internal structure of airport performance is considered by decomposing it into physical operations and revenue generation. In the physical operations stage, operating costs, number of runways, terminal area and number of employees are used as inputs, while passenger throughput, cargo throughput and aircraft movements are taken as outputs. Subsequently, in the revenue generation stage, the outputs from the preceding stage are taken as inputs, while revenue is used as output. Results: Based upon this two-stage modeling of airport performance, a multiplicative two-stage network data envelopment analysis model is employed to calculate the overall and stage efficiencies of 59 airports using the recent data in the 2014 Airport Benchmarking Report published by the Air Transport Research Society. Several internal and external factors are also considered such as airport size, airport geographical location, proportion of international passengers, ownership (listed or not) and management style, and statistical analysis is performed to examine their impacts on airport performance. Conclusion: It is shown that the airports exhibit statistically significant difference across regions, and also some statistically significant factors affecting airport performance are identified.

수도권 지역난방연계 열병합발전소의 기반기금 지원과 개선방안 (A Study on the Improvement of Subsidy Program for CHP Plant Connected with Capital Region District Heating System)

  • CHP system supplies electricity and heating together with high efficiency. Current utility's CHP system uses electric power by itself and sells thermal energy to KDHC(Korea District Heating Corporation). CHP's operation cost except sales revenue of heating was covered by the sale revenue of electricity. Thus Electric generation cost in district Heating CHP system has close relationship with the level of heating price. However, after the restructuring of electricity industry, the operation cost could not be covered by sales revenue of heating and electricity. This loss was compensated by energy subsidy program in the electric power industry infrastructure fund. This paper suggests reasonable evaluation and improvement methods of the loss calculation of CHP system utilizing the infrastructure fund efficiency In terms of the direction of support by the fund, it provides the methods to prevent inefficient operation through setting up the upper limit of subsidy and to improve the loss calculation. Moreover, it suggest fixed rate support by heating supply level and reducing subsidy gradually for an efficient operation of CHP system.

남한 전력시장에서 풍력발전점유의 전력가격수익 최적화 (Optimizing the Electricity Price Revenue of Wind Power Generation Captures in the South Korean Electricity Market)

  • How effectively a wind farm captures high market prices can greatly influence a wind farm's viability. This research identifies and creates an understanding of the effects that result in various capture prices (average revenue earned per unit of generation) that can be seen among different wind farms, in the current and future competitive SMP (System Marginal Price) market in South Korea. Through the use of a neural network to simulate changes in SMP caused by increased renewables, based on the Korea Institute of Energy Research's extensive wind resource database for South Korea, the variances in current and future capture prices are modelled and analyzed for both onshore and offshore wind power generation. Simulation results shows a spread in capture price of 5.5% for the year 2035 that depends on both a locations wind characteristics and the generations' correlation with other wind power generation. Wind characteristics include the generations' correlation with SMP price, diurnal profile shape, and capacity factor. The wind revenue cannibalization effect reduces the capture price obtained by wind power generation that is located close to a substantial amount of other wind power generation. In onshore locations wind characteristics can differ significantly/ Hence it is recommended that possible wind development sites have suitable diurnal profiles that effectively capture high SMP prices. Also, as increasing wind power capacity becomes installed in South Korea, it is recommended that wind power generation be located in regions far from the expected wind power generation 'hotspots' in the future. Hence, a suitable site along the east mountain ridges of South Korea is predicted to be extremely effective in attaining high SMP capture prices. Attention to these factors will increase the revenues obtained by wind power generation in a competitive electricity market.

근거이론 접근법을 이용한 인플루언서의 유튜브 채널 운영과 수익 창출에 미치는 영향요인에 관한 탐색 연구 (Exploratory Study on Factors Affecting Influencers' YouTube Channel Operation and Revenue Generation Based on the Grounded Theory Approach)

  • Purpose This study explored overall phenomena in context such as YouTube channel operation, strategy, and profit generation through interviews with two research participants who started their own businesses and are recognized as influencer on YouTube and analysis of viewer responses to uploaded contents. With the explosive growth of YouTube content provision and use, previous studies on YouTube are only being conducted individually on YouTube's content, influence, and content providers, so it is need to explore YouTube channel operations and the effect of revenue generation in context from an integrated perspective. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present an integrated model that provides a specific process by contextually linking the factors and results influencing YouTube channel operation and revenue generation phenomena to individuals and companies who are trying to operate YouTube channels for the first time. Design/methodology/approach This study systematized and structured the overall phenomena in context such as YouTube channel operation, communication strategy, effect on revenue generation, and YouTube channel operation results by selecting interview subjects and collecting data through interviews, and analyzing viewer reactions (likes, comments, etc.). Due to the lack of previous studies exploring integrated phenomena, research analysis used Strauss & Corbin (1998)'s grounded theory approach, which presented inductive research methods to discover new theories by structuring concepts and categories based on detailed observations and information provided by interviewees. Findings The academic implication of this study is that while previous studies are conducted as individual studies on YouTube's content, influence, and content providers in the current situation where YouTube content provision and use are exploding, it integrally explores and presents an integrated model throughout the process. In addition, taking into account the lack of previous studies, it can be found in the aspect of using the grounded theory approach, an inductive theory approach that establishes a new theory. The practical implications can be found in that it presented practical directions to beginners who want to start operating YouTube channels by identifying operational preparations, communication strategies with viewers, and response management strategies.
