  • The steps related to the nutrient solution management were divided into 4 categories. The resistance for water movement in every steps was proposed. The priorities among the steps were set according to the cultural situation, which were used as the basis for the management in perlite bag culture. The enhancement of historical root development is especially critical, as well as how to supply essential water efficiently by minimizing the water movement distance to the root, which is the narrowest neck of a bottle in solution management.

  • This research proposes a conceptual framework to highlight the importance of change management after firms implement ERP systems. With ERP, firms need to rework their business processes to make information flow smoothly within organizations. Firms cannot realize expected returns from ERP investments unless changes are effectively managed after ERP systems are put into operation. The research model is empirically tested using data collected from over 170 firms that had used ERP systems at least for more than one year. Our analysis reveals that the eventual success of ERP systems depends on effective change management after ERP implementation, supporting the existence of the 'valley of despair.

  • The e-Book market has rapidly grown as an innovative product which is mixed its traditional and technological characteristics. However, decreasing user resistance to the e-Book is very important to continually keeping up its market growth. Previous studies for user resistance have been studied as a negative barrier for various innovative products with importance of user resistance. Nevertheless, the factors for user' resistance to the e-Book field have not been found out considering both perceived value and switching cost. Especially, both innovative technology and user specifics should be considered when explaining user resistance to adopting e-Books. Thus, the purpose of this study is to understand the process for user resistance to the e-book and find out its antecedents with perceived value and switching cost at the same time. As a result, it appeared that triability, uncertainty and complexity affected perceived value and switching cost. The user-based antecedents like social norm and perceived value increased the effect of self-efficacy. Also, self-efficacy and perceived value decreased user resistance whereas switching cost increase user resistance to the e-Book perspective.

  • Repeated use of ACCase inhibiting herbicides for a long time has resulted in increases of resistant Echinochloa oryzicola populations in paddy fields in middle west area of Korea. This study aims to investigate current status of herbicide resistant E. oryzicola in Gyeongsangnam-do, in which there is less information about herbicide resistance. For resistance frequency and dose-response study, seeds from 100 individual plants of E. oryzicola in Gyeongsangnam-do were collected and tested with cyhalofop-butyl. Seven percent of plants from Gyeongsangnam-do was resistant at a recommended rate of cyhalofop-butyl. $GR_{50}$ values (herbicide rates required to reduce plant growth 50%) for one representative resistant populations and five susceptible populations were $738g\;a.i.\;ha^{-1}$ and 66-234 (average 147)$g\;a.i.\;ha^{-1}$, respectively, indicating average 5 times difference in resistance. Although lower rate of frequency of herbicide resistance in Gyeongsangnam-do than in Jeollabuk-do, increases of herbicide resistance are expected in this area because of increases of direct seeded rice fields and increases of dependence on a specific herbicide. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor herbicide resistance regularly and conduct integrated herbicide resistance management in this area.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of 16 weeks of resistance training on the fatigue factor, muscle soreness, oxidative stress, and myokine in elite weightlifters. A total of 10 subjects (six male, four female) participated in this study. The results were compared according to baseline, 8 weeks, and 16 weeks. Ammonia and Pi were increased through 16 weeks of resistance training, but this result was not significant. CK was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks and 16 weeks compared to baseline, while LDH was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks compared to baseline. The MDA of the oxidative stress factor was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks compared to baseline and 16 weeks, and TAS of the antioxidant factor was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks compared to baseline. The IL-15 of the myokine was significantly (p<0.05) increased at baseline compared to 8 weeks and 16 weeks. In conclusion, 16 weeks of high-intensity resistance training may have a positive effect on peripheral fatigue factors, muscle soreness, oxidative stress, and myokine in elite weightlifters.

  • Using information and communication technologies, many firms have increased their productivity. In resource based view, practical use of information and communication technologies is a process of increasing competitive advantage in uncertain environment. However, use of new information and communication technologies does not surely improve the productivity and work efficiency, but sometimes could be a factor to hinder firm performance. Technostress means adverse effect occurring in which the user of new information and communication technologies does not adapt to environment of new technologies. That is, Technostress is a negative impact resulted from using information and communication technologies. This study investigated the effect of technostress on counter-productivity. Unlike the previous studies, this study was made with the survey for firm employees of Daegu region, and both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance were used in this study. The empirical result means that technostress positively affects both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance. Because technostress increases both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance, systematic management for firm employees is needed in time adopting information and communication technologies.

  • The purpose of this study was to propose useful suggestions for enhancing reliability to determine the resistance against surface wetting, KS K 0590, by an imaging process. We validated the standard spray test rating chart for determining quantification standard using JAVA script-based imaging process program. All of the acquired images were processed with the image software, Image J (NIH, Nethesda, MD, USA). The study results are as follows. We established the surface area measurement-based quantitative criteria for determining resistance to surface wetting. The standard spray test rating chart was converted into a numerical standard which leads easy-to-determine ratings. We also validated the procedure for imaging treatment by analyzing quantitative data. We introduced the fluorescence image for determining ratings by enabling threshold settings and binary image conversion as an optimal imaging process. It is expected that imaging-based determination for resistant to surface wetting will serve as an accurate and reliable method for KS K 0590.

  • This study discusses numerically-explored thermal performances of hybrid fin heat sinks (HF HSs) for lightweight thermal management of LED modules under natural convection. A hollow hybrid fin heat sink (HHF HS) and a solid hybrid fin heat sink (SHF HS) are proposed as HF HSs. A 3-D CFD analysis has been carefully conducted to obtain reliable numerical results. The 3-D CFD study investigates the effects of both fin spacing and an internal channel diameter on performances of the HHF HS and the SHF HS. The study results show that the mass-based thermal resistance of the HHF HS is 20~32% smaller compared with the pin fin heat sink (PF HS). The results also show that the mass-based thermal resistance of the HHF HS decreases with the increase of the channel diameter. These results are mainly due to coupled effects of the mass reduction and heat pumping through an internal channel. Considerably superior mass-based thermal performances of the HHF HS to the conventional PF HS suggest the feasible application for the lightweight thermal management of the LED modules under natural convection.

  • This study aims to experimentally investigate the heat transfer characteristics of a thermosyphon using nanofluids. A thermosyphon with three individual pipes, which share the internal volume of the evaporator section, was designed, and its performance was tested for various charge amounts, input powers of the evaporator section's heater, and concentrations of working fluids. The optimized charge amount of the thermosyphon using distilled water was 30%, and the thermal resistance of the thermosyphon with $TiO_2$ nanofluid was 18.1% lower than that with Ag nanofluid. In addition, the heat transfer performance of the thermosyphon with $TiO_2-1%$ was optimized at an input power of 300 W at the evaporator section's heater and a charge amount of 30%.
