In a training simulator for power plant, operator's action in the MCR(Main Control Room) are given to plant process and computer system model as an inputs, and the same response as in real power plant is provided in real time. Inter-process communication and synchronization are especially important among various inputs. In the plant simulator, to simulate the digital control system such as FOXBORO SPEC-200 Micro control system, modification and adaptation of control card(CCC) and its continuous display station(CDS) is necessary. This paper describes the modeling and simulation of FOXBORO SPEC-200 Micro control system applied to Younggwang nuclear power plant unit #3 & 4, and its integration process to the full-scope replica type training simulator. In a simulator, display station like CDS of FOXBORO SPEC-200 Micro control system is classified as ITI(Intelligent Type Instrument), which has a micro processor inside to process information and the corresponding alphanumeric display, and the stimulation of ITI limits the important functions in a training simulator such as backtrack, replay, freeze and IC reset. Therefore, to achieve the better performance of the simulator, modification of CDS and special firmware is developed to simulate the FOXBORO SPEC-200 Micro control system. Each control function inside control card is modeled and simulated in generic approach to accept the plant data and control parameter conveniently, and debugging algorithms are applied for massive coding developed in short period.
Nickel oxide thin films exhibit the resistive switching as a function of applied voltages. The switching phenomena involve low and high resistance states after electroforming. The electrical features are believed to be associated with the formation and rupture of filaments. The set and reset behaviors are controlled by the oxidation and reduction of filaments. The indirect evidence of filaments is corroborated by the presence of nanocrystalline nickel oxides found in high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The insertion of insulating layers seems to control the current-voltage characteristics by preventing the continuous formation of conductive filaments, potentially leading to artificial control of resistive behaviors in NiO-based systems.
We have designed and simulated an 1-bit ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) by using a half adder. An ALU is the part of a computer processor that carries out arithmetic and logic operations on the operands in computer instruction words. The designed ALU had limited operation functions of OR, AND, XOR, and ADD. It had a pipeline structure. We constructed an 1-bit ALU by using only one half adder and three control switches. We designed the control switches in two ways, dc switch and NDRO (Non Destructive Read Out) switch. We used dc switches because they were simple to use. NDRO pulse switches were used because they can be easily controlled by control signals of SET and RESET and show fast response time. The simulation results showed that designed circuits operate correctly and the circuit minimum margins were +/-27%. In this work, we used simulation tools of XIC and WRSPICE. The circuit layouts were also performed. The circuits are being fabricated.
The flight control law designed for prototype aircraft often leads to degraded stability and performance, although developed control law verify by non-real time simulation and pilot based evaluations. Therefore, the proper evaluation methods should be applied such that flight control law designed can be verified in real flight environment. The one proposed in this paper is IFS (In-Flight Simulator). Currently, this system has been implemented into the F-18 HARV (High Angle of Attack Research Vehicle), SU-27 and F-16 VISTA (Variable stability In flight Simulation Test Aircraft) programs. The IFS necessary switching control law such as fader logic and integrator stand-by mode to reduce abrupt transient and minimize the integrator effect for each flight control laws switching. This paper addresses the concept of switching mechanism with fader logic of "TFS (Transient Free Switch)" and stand-by mode of "feedback type" based on SSWM (Software Switching Mechanism). And the result of real-time pilot evaluation reveals that the aircraft is stable for inter-conversion of flight control laws and transient response is minimized.
The TDCSA(Time Delay Control with Switching Action) method, which consists of Time Delay Control(TDC) and a switching action of sliding mode control(SMC), has been proposed as a promising technique in the robust control area, where the plant has unknown dynamics with parameter variations and substantial disturbances are preset. When TDCSA is applied to the plant with saturation nonlinearity, however, the so-called windup phenomena are observed to arise, causing excessive overshoot and instability. The integral element of TDCSA and the saturation element of a plant cause the windup phenomena. There are two integral effects in TDCSA. One is the integral effect occurred by time delay estimation of TDC. Other is the integral term of an integral sliding surface. In order to solve this problem, we have proposed an anti-windup scheme method for TDCSA. The stability of the overall system has been proved for a class of nonlinear system. Experiment results show that the proposed method overcomes the windup problem of the TDCSA.
The SSWM(Software Switching Mechanism) of I-processor concept using non-real time in-house software simulation program is an effective method in order to develop the flight control law in desktop or HQS environment. And, this system has some advantages compare to HSWM(Hardware Switching Mechanism) such as remove the time delay effectiveness and reduce the costs of development. But, if this system loading to the OFP(Operational Flight Program), the OFP guarantee the enough throughput in order to calculate the two control law at once. Therefore, the HSWM(Hardware Switching Mechanism) of 2-processor concept is necessary. This paper addresses the concept of HSWM of the HQS-PC interface using TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) communication based on flight control law of advanced supersonic trainer. And, the fader logic of TFS(Transient Free Switch) and stand-by mode of reset '0' type are designed in order to reduce the abrupt transient response and minimize the integrator effect in pitch axis. The result of the analysis based on HQS pilot simulation using HSWM reveals that the flight control systems are switching between two computers without any problem.
In industrial production-distribution systems, production and purchasing rates, associated inventories, and sales are very critical for the profits of each component in the system. The objective of this study is to investigate an effective information control scheme for a production -distribution system by automatic feedback control techniques. In this work, a dynamic control scheme that has an integrated -error with state-feedback and filtering (ISFF) is proposed as a new algorithm for a dynamic controller. Generalized formulations of the dynamic control are proposed in the continuous-time and discrete-time cases. A methodology for an evaluation of ISFF controller gains using the eigen structure property is presented. When an upper-limit is imposed on the production capability by available factory space and capital equipment, supervisory control is provided to avoid integrator-windup and deterioration of system performance.
The inter-conversion between different control laws in flight has a lot of risk. The SWM(Switching Mechanism) including logic and stand-by mode is designed to analyze the transient response of aircraft during inter-conversion between different control laws, based on the in-house software for non-real-time and real-time simulation. The SWM applies the fader logic of TFS(Transient Free Switch) to minimize the transient response of an aircraft during the inter-conversion, and applies the reset '0' type of the stand-by mode to prevent surface saturation due to integrator effect in the disengaged flight control law. The transition time is also important to minimize the objectionable transient response in the inter-conversion, as well as the transition control law design. This paper addresses the results of non-real-time simulation for the characteristics of transient response to different transition time to select the adequate transient time, and the real-time pilot evaluation, using SSWM(Software Switching Mechanism) and HSWM(Hardware Switching Mechanism), which is met for Level 1 flying qualities and assures safety of flight.
The presented work demonstrates the effects of flow rate on the secondary side of DHS (District Heating System). Increasing flow rate at the secondary side of DHS decreases energy consumption and time to reach the set-point of the heated room while increasing heat flux on the floor in the heating space. When flow rate increases, the overall heat transfer rate of radiant floor also increases. However, the results also show overall heat transfer rateto not increased linearly and thus the existence of an optimal flow rate for the secondary side of DHS. Control of the radiant floor with hot water may be more effectively accomplished with a combined control strategy that includes heat flux and a temperature set-point. This experimental analysis has been performed using a lab-scaled DHS pilot plant located at Jeonju University in Korea.
