There are still few to teach business ethics as a formal subject at four-year universities, and there is little research on business ethics. The education of business ethics is mainly a simple type of discussion that focuses on cases. The research of business ethics is focused on corporate social responsibility, ignoring many subjects to be dealt with in business ethics. Starting from this recognition, this paper uses qualitative research method to identify five topics to be addressed in business ethics: employee right, employee responsibility, environmental responsibility, diversity and discrimination, and international business and globalization. Directions for education and research related to each subject are from examining the latest literature related to each topic. Specifically, this paper discusses the contents to be educated in each topic, and presents directions of research to be done in the future. Consequently, this paper presents directions for the development of education and research on the five topics in business ethics. Based on this research as the theoretical basis, various researches on each subject will be possible in the future.

  • This study is an analysis of the process of the discovery of the DNA double helix structure from an engineering literacy education perspective. The explanation of the DNA double helix structure by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1952 is a well-known scientific episode. The process is also a combination of various incidents that can frequently happen in competitive engineering research and development situations. Therefore, the process of the discovery of the DNA structure is a remarkable event that can cover all subjects, such as engineering and ethics, research ethics, communication between researchers, engineering and leadership, engineering and teamwork, and engineering and women. This paper focuses on analyzing the research ethics issues associated with Rosalind Franklin and comparing and analyzing the three teams that were very close to the discovery of the DNA structure. By looking at why the Watson and Crick team got the final answer instead of the Linus Pauling's team or the Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin's team, the virtues of the technology development process that should be taught in engineering literacy education will be naturally presented.

  • A major purpose of this article is to provide ethical aspects in public health. This is not intended to establish theoretical and philosopical argument for issues of health care ethics, but intended to describe the necessity of ethics education in public health. The increase in medical science to sustain life and the failure to provide corresponding ethical guideline in public health have created new ethical problems. All members in public health trainning programs should not only have an interest in health care ethics, but also have an ability to reach decisions in ethical problems related to community. The goal of ethics education in public health is not to improve the moral character of health care providers but rather to provide them with the conceptual abilities and decision-making skills they will need to deal successfully with ethical issues in public health research and practice. Obviously. the ultimate goal is to increase awareness of human values in health care.
