Oversampling 형태를 갖는 Discrete Gabor Representation을 이용한 고품질 표적 ISAR 영상의 효율적인 획득 (Efficient Acquisition of High-Quality ISAR Images Using the Discrete Gabor Representation in an Oversampling Scheme)

  • ISAR(Inverse SAR) 영상은 비협조 표적 인식에서 널리 사용되어 왔다. ISAR 영상 획득에 있어 가장 중요한 문제 중 하나는 표적의 움직임에 의해 흐려진 영상의 품질을 개선하는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 고품질의 표적 ISAR 영상을 효율적으로 획득하기 위한 방법으로서, oversampling 형태를 갖는 Discrete Gabor Representation(DGR)기법을 제안한다. DGR은 주어진 Gabor logon에 해당하는 시간-주파수 격자의 cell에, 신호의 시간-주파수 성분을 나타내는 Gabor 계수를 구획적으로 할당한다. 따라서 DGR은 우수한 신호의 시간-주파수 집중도를 보여주며, 산란점으로부터의 도플러 성분을 효과적으로 판별할 수 있다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 DGR이 고품질의 ISAR 영상을 획득할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 계산상의 효율성도 가짐을 입증하였다.

비유클리드 기하의 정신적 표상을 위한 S/W Cinderella (S/W Cinderella for Student's mental Representation about Non-Euclidean Geometry)

  • In this paper, we propose a computer environment class for student's mental representations about non-Euclidean geometry. Through the software Cinderella, students construct knowledge about non-Euclidean geometry and recognize differentness between Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry. Also they recognize an existence of non-Euclidean geometry newly and its mental representations with images represented in Cinderella. In geometry class, we make students can use many representations systematically and can figure a visual internal image by emphasizing a transform process. And then students can reason about non-Euclidean geometry.

  • 전체관적인 표현방법인 희소 코딩 또는 독릴 성분 분해(ICA)는 이전의 청각의 처리와 소리 분류의 작업을 해명하는데 성공적으로 적용되었다. 반대로 부분 기반 표현법은 뇌에서 물체를 인식하는 방법을 이해하는 또 다른 방법이다. 이 논문에서, 우리는 소리 분류의 작업에 부분기반 표현법을 학습시키는 비음수화 행렬 분해(NMF)(1) 방법을 적용하였다. 잡음이 존재할 때와 존재하지 않을 때 두 가지 상황에서, NMF를 이용하여 주파수-시간영역의 소리로부터 특징을 추출하는 방법을 설명한다. 실험결과에서는 NMF에 기반을 둔 특징이 ICA에 기반을 두어 추출한 특징보다 소리 분류의 성능을 향상시킴을 보여준다.

조명 변화 환경에서 얼굴 인식을 위한 Non-Alpha Weberface 및 히스토그램 평활화 기반 얼굴 표현 (Face Representation Based on Non-Alpha Weberface and Histogram Equalization for Face Recognition Under Varying Illumination Conditions)

  • 얼굴 외형은 조명의 영향을 크게 받기 때문에 조명 변화는 얼굴 인식 시스템의 성능을 저하시키는 요인 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 non-alpha Weberface(non-alpha WF)와 히스토그램 평활화를 결합하여 조명 변화에 강건한 얼굴 표현 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 입력 얼굴 영상에 대해 명암 대비 조절 파라미터를 적용하지 않은 non-alpha WF를 생성한다. 이후, non-alpha WF의 히스토그램 분포를 전역적으로 균일하게 하고 명암 대비를 향상시키기 위해 히스토그램 평활화를 수행한다. 제안하는 방법을 통해 전처리된 얼굴 영상으로부터 저차원 판별 특징을 추출하기 위해 $(2D)^2PCA$를 적용한다. Extended Yale B 및 CMU PIE 얼굴 데이터베이스에 대해 실험한 결과, 제안하는 방법으로 각각 93.31%와 97.25%의 평균 인식률을 얻었다. 또한, 제안하는 방법은 기존 WF뿐만 아니라 여러 조명 처리 방법들과 비교하여 향상된 인식 성능을 보였다.

SAR Image De-noising Based on Residual Image Fusion and Sparse Representation

  • Since the birth of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), it has been widely used in the military field and so on. However, the existence of speckle noise makes a good deal inconvenience for the subsequent image processing. The continuous development of sparse representation (SR) opens a new field for the speckle suppressing of SAR image. Although the SR de-noising may be effective, the over-smooth phenomenon still has bad influence on the integrity of the image information. In this paper, one novel SAR image de-noising method based on residual image fusion and sparse representation is proposed. Firstly we can get the similar block groups by the non-local similar block matching method (NLS-BM). Then SR de-noising based on the adaptive K-means singular value decomposition (K-SVD) is adopted to obtain the initial de-noised image and residual image. The residual image is processed by Shearlet transform (ST), and the corresponding de-noising methods are applied on it. Finally, in ST domain the low-frequency and high-frequency components of the initial de-noised and residual image are fused respectively by relevant fusion rules. The final de-noised image can be recovered by inverse ST. Experimental results show the proposed method can not only suppress the speckle effectively, but also save more details and other useful information of the original SAR image, which could provide more authentic and credible records for the follow-up image processing.

On Constructing an Explicit Algebraic Stress Model Without Wall-Damping Function

  • In the present study, an explicit algebraic stress model is shown to be the exact tensor representation of algebraic stress model by directly solving a set of algebraic equations without resort to tensor representation theory. This repeals the constraints on the Reynolds stress, which are based on the principle of material frame indifference and positive semi-definiteness. An a priori test of the explicit algebraic stress model is carried out by using the DNS database for a fully developed channel flow at Rer = 135. It is confirmed that two-point correlation function between the velocity fluctuation and the Laplacians of the pressure-gradient i s anisotropic and asymmetric in the wall-normal direction. Thus, a novel composite algebraic Reynolds stress model is proposed and applied to the channel flow calculation, which incorporates non-local effect in the algebraic framework to predict near-wall behavior correctly.

On Representable Rings and Modules

  • In this paper, we determine the structure of rings that have secondary representation (called representable rings) and give some characterizations of these rings. Also, we characterize Artinian rings in terms of representable rings. Then we introduce completely representable modules, modules every non-zero submodule of which have secondary representation, and give some necessary and sufficient conditions for a module to be completely representable. Finally, we define strongly representable modules and give some conditions under which representable module is strongly representable.

Self-Representation and Korean Honorific Shifts

  • This study discovers the dynamic nature of an interactional hierarchy as well as an institutional hierarchy in the use of Korean honorifics. Data was collected from the conversations of two Korean female interlocutors. The interlocutors met for the first time in the U.S. and often changed their use of honorifics. The paper examines the method in which the two interlocutors negotiate hierarchies during interaction and how the negotiation is reflected in their use of honorific shifts. The paper also investigates honorific shifts in terms of self-representation to suggest that there is another hierarchy at work other than the institutional hierarchy. An examination of the data shows that the shifts occurred not randomly but strategically. The findings suggest that 1) interlocutors may negotiate interactional hierarchy during their conversation, often in the same sentence, 2) interactional hierarchy often cross the boundary of the institutional hierarchy to obtain interactional goals, in this case, intimacy, and 3) the utterance contents may play a significant role in the interlocutors' honorific shifts.

  • Y. R$\acute{e}$ball$\acute{e}$ [11]교수는 쇼케이적분 기준에 의한 필요측도의 표현에 관해 조사한다. 또한 쇼케이적분 표현관 관련된 필요측도의 순위를 결정 연장을 생각한다. 이 논문에서, 우리는 결정연장이 쇼케이 기대효용에 따른 애매한(구간치로 명명함) 필요측도를 가지는 경우를 생각한다. 더욱이, 구간치 필요측도에 대한 단조 집합치 함수를 갖는 기호에 대한 약 쇼케이적분표현과 필요측도에 대한 구간치 효용함수를 갖는 기호에 대한 강 쇼케이적분 표현에 대한 두 가지 정리를 증명한다.

Development of a distributed rainfall-runoff model with TIN-based topographic representation and its application to an analysis of spatial variability of soil properties on runoff response

  • A TIN, Triagulated Irregular Network, based topographic modeling method and a distributed rainfall-runoff model using the topographic representation is presented. In the TIN based topographic representation, a watershed basin is modeled as a set of contiguous non-overlapping triagular facets : the watershed basin is subdivided according to streamlines to deal with water movement one-dimensionally ; and each partitioned catchment is approximated to a slope element having a quasi-three-dimensional shape by using cubic spline functions. On an approximated slope element, water movement is represented by combined surface-subsurface kinematic wave equations considering a change of slope gradient and slope width. By using the distributed rainfall-runoff model, the effects of spatial variability of soil properties on runoff response are examined.
