  • In the paper, we propose a data transmission repeating system that allows data transmission for the effective supervision of cows grazing in the pasture. It is normal practice to divide the pasture into different areas for the purpose of distributing the grazing. However, this makes it difficult to supply electrical power and transmit data, because some of the pastures are far away from the office used for collecting data. To solve this problem, we developed a repeating system that can allow data transmission in the pasture using a solar charging system that consists of a 60W solar panel, 12V/100A battery and 6A solar controller for the power supply and a data transmission algorithm which extends the range of data transmission when using the proposed repeating system. We verified the performance of the repeating system by checking whether the data transmission is successful or not when transmitting from various test points when there is an obstacle between the receiver and repeating system. We also verified the solar charging system by measuring the battery voltage when the system is operated continuously for 31 days and whether the system can supply sufficient power when the weather is cloudy or rainy for a few days. Finally, we verified the performance of the repeating system and data transmission algorithm by conducting experiments in a pasture.

  • The purpose of this study is searching for the problems and alternatives on teaching for repeating decimal. To accomplish the purpose, we have analyzed the fifth, sixth, and seventh Korean national curriculums, textbooks and examinations for the eighth grade about repeating decimal. W also have analyzed textbooks from USA to find for alternatives. As the results, we found followings. First, the national curriculums blocked us verifying the relation between rational number and repeating decimal. Second, definitions of terminating decimal, infinite decimal, and repeating decimal are slightly different in every textbooks. This leads seriously confusion for students examinations. The alternative on these problems is defining the terminating decimal as following; decimal which continually obtains only zeros in the quotient. That is, we have to avoid the representation of repeating decimal repeated nines under a declared system which apply an infinite decimal continually obtaining only zeros in the quotient. Then, we do not have any problems to verify the following statement. A number is a rational number if and only if it can be represented by a repeating decimal.

  • Ku band satellite signal repeating technology just altering a polarization of the repeated signal is applicable for any kind of satellite broadcasting service in geographically shadowed area due to high-rise buildings, trees, and so on. This paper focuses on the design of high polarization discrimination antenna satisfying polarization characteristics with respect to field pattern and frequency band. Designed antenna for the enhancement of axial ratio and polarization discrimination characteristic shows good performance for satellite broadcasting service repeating system.

  • This study analyzes considerations for satellite orbit elements for the national micro-satellite system to effectively perform its mission in accordance with the operational concept, and compares the conventionally used Walker method to improve the performance of the satellite constellation method of the repeating ground track orbit. In satellite orbit element analysis, altitude candidate values of micro-satellite system, use of eccentricity and argument of perigee through frozen orbit, necessity of selection of appropriate orbit inclination, and satellite phasing rules for flying the same repeating ground track orbit are proposed. Based on these analysis results, the superiority of the constellation method of the repeating ground track orbit compared to the Walker method is verified in terms of revisit performance analysis, global coverage characteristics, and orbit consistency.

  • For the development of high quality textiles, silk fabrics were dyed repeatedly with persimmon juice by padding mangle. We evaluated the mechanical properties and hand value by Kawabata Evaluation system for dyed silk fabrics. The results obtained from this study were as follows. With the increase of repeating padding times of dyeing, the linearity load-extension curves of the silk fabrics were increased; however, the tensile resilience of fabrics decreased. The hysteresis values of shear force were increased without significant change of shear stiffness. The coefficient of friction values were also decreased and geometrical roughness values were increased. The silk fabrics dyed with persimmon juice had shown the thickness and weight grow as the number of padding increases. The hand values of silk fabrics which were classified into 6 items in the Kawabata Evaluation System, were evaluated as repeating times of dyeing with persimmon juice. The hand values of Koshi(stiffness) and Hari(anti-drape stiffness) were increased, whereas Shinayakasa (flexibility with soft feeling) and Fukurami(fullness and softness) were decreased by dyeing with persimmon juice. However there was no significant change in hand values according to repeating padding times of dyeing.

  • According to the 7th curriculum, irrational numbers should be introduced using infinite decimals in 9th grade. To do so, the relation between rational numbers and decimals should be explained in 8th grade. Preceding studies remarked that middle school students could understand the relation between rational numbers and decimals through the division appropriately. From the point of view with the arithmetic handling activity, I analyzed that the integers and terminating decimals was explained as decimals with repeating 0s or 9s. And, I reviewed the equivalent relations between irrational numbers and non-repeating decimals, rational numbers and repeating decimals. Furthermore, I suggested an alternative method of introducing irrational numbers.

  • After 1995, as a part of national geographic information system project, there are a lot of researches about combinations and connections of national geographic information system. However, systematic standard for combinations and connections of geographic information is uncertain, and each organization has different identification system which leads to difficulties in connection of geographic information system. This study suggests repeating method about geographic information objects to grant UFID based on national standards of geographic information system, and analyzes the repeating rate.

  • Pervasive applications such as digital memories or patient monitors collect a vast amount of data. One key challenge in these systems is how to extract interesting or unusual information. Because users cannot anticipate their future interests in the data when the data is stored, it is hard to provide appropriate indexes. As location-tracking technologies, such as global positioning system, have become ubiquitous, digital cameras or other pervasive systems record location information along with the data. In this paper, we present an automatic approach to identify unusual data using location information. Given the location information, our system identifies unusual days, that is, days with unusual mobility patterns. We evaluated our detection system using a real wireless trace, collected at wireless access points, and demonstrated its capabilities. Using our system, we were able to identify days when mobility patterns changed and differentiate days when a user followed a regular pattern from the rest. We also discovered general mobility characteristics. For example, most users had one or more repeating mobility patterns, and repeating mobility patterns did not depend on certain days of the week, except that weekends were different from weekdays.

  • The development of manufacturing technology for braided composites has led to farther extension of the applications in aerospace structures. Since the mechanical characteristics of braided composites are affected by various materials and manufacturing parameters, it is important to determine the parameters required to appropriately design the braided composite structures. In this study, we proposed a geometric model of RUC (repeating unit cell) for 2D braided composites, and predicted the mechanical properties according to the change of fiber volume fraction, fiber filament size, braiding angle, and gap between adjacent yarns by the yarn slicing technique and stress averaging method. Finally, we analyze the characteristics of mechanical properties according to each manufacturing parameter of the braided composite material.

  • For development of dyeability, the rayon fabrics were dyed repeatedly with persimmon juice by padding mangle. The merit of padding-based dyeing was easier color reproduction over traditional hand dyeing where various colors and color fastness to light and laundering are hard to obtain. We evaluated the mechanical properties and hand value by Kawabata Evaluation system for dyed rayon fabrics. The results obtained from this study were as follows. With the increase of repeating padding times of dyeing, the linearity load-extension curve and tensile energy per unit length of the rayon fabrics were increased, but the tensile resilience of fabrics were decreased. The value of shear stiffness and shear hysteresis were increased. Also compression resilience and linearity of compression thickness were increased. The rayon fabrics dyed with persimmon juice had shown the thickness and weight increase as the number of padding increase. As repeating times of dyeing with persimmon juice were increased, among the 6 hand values, the item of koshi(stiffness) and Hari(anti-drape stiffness), fukurami(fullness and softness) were increased. while Shinayakasa (flexibility with soft feeling) and Shari(crispness) were greately decreased. The amount of coated persimmon juice on the surface of the fabric was gradually increased as the padding times of dyeing.
