  • Purpose - Current study aimed at investigating customer experience types (gain vs. loss avoidance performance experience and hedonic vs. reliability imagery experience) and their influences on satisfaction and positive emotion as antecedents of customer engagement. It also explored moderation role of regulatory focus in the influence of each experience type on satisfaction and positive emotion. Research design, data, and methodology - 416 Vietnamese local tourists were selected to test hypotheses by structural equation model in AMOS 21.0. Results - First, customers actually achieving gain or avoiding loss are more satisfied. Second, customers with hedonic and reliability imagery experience feel more positive emotion. Third, both positive emotion and satisfaction have positive influences on customer engagement. Last, regulatory focus moderates the positive effects of either gain or loss avoidance performance experience on satisfaction and also moderates the positive effects of either hedonic or reliability imagery experience on positive emotion. Conclusions - Focusing on both cognitive satisfaction and affective emotion resulted from experience, this study could advance customer engagement theory. Managerially, brand managers should induce gain performance and hedonic imagery experience (loss avoidance performance and reliability imagery experience) from promotion (prevention)-focused customers to enhance their engagement.

  • In this paper, we proposed two systems, STTC scheme and STBC based on STTC scheme, to enhance the reliability of HDR-WPAN system and analyzed BER(bit error rate) performance of the proposed systems over the slow fading channel. The proposed systems obtained a diversity gain and coding gain without increasing an additional channel bandwidth. However, in terms of reliability, about 4dB improvement at $BER=10^{-3}$ was obtained by the STBC based on STTC scheme because of the additional diversity gain of STBC. From these results, STBC based on STTC scheme was more appropriate to improve the reliability and channel efficiency of HDR-WPAN system.

  • The main objective of this paper is come up with methodology approach for FPGA-based system in verification and validation lifecycle regarding software reliability using system engineering approach. The steps of both reverse engineering and re-engineering are carried out to implement an FPGA-based of safety critical system in Nuclear Power Plant. The reverse engineering methodology is applied to elicit the requirements of the system as well as gain understanding of the current life cycle and V&V activities of FPGA based-system. The re-engineering method is carried out to get a new methodology approach of software reliability, particularly Software Reliability Growth Model. For measure the software reliability of a given FPGA-based system, the following steps are executed as; requirements definition and measurement, evaluation of candidate reliability model, and the validation of the selected system. As conclusion, a new methodology approach for software reliability measurement using software reliability growth model is developed.

  • Burn-in is an engineering method for screening out products containing reliability defects which would cause early failures in field operation. Previously, various burn-in models have been proposed mainly focused on the trade-off of shop repair cost and warranty cost ignoring manufacturing yield. From the view point of a manufacturer, however, burn-in decreases warranty cost at the expense of yield reduction. In this paper, we provide a general model quantifying a trade-off between product yield and reliability, in which any defect distribution from previous yield models can be used. A profit function is expressed in burn-in environments for determining an optimal burn-in time. Finally, the method is illustrated with gate oxide failures which is an important reliability concerns for VLSI CMOS circuits.

  • In this paper, the proposed scheme is STBC system combined with convolutional code to ensure the reliability of data transmission for a high rate wireless communication. In addition, this scheme uses a modified viterbi algorithm in order to get a high system gain when data is transmitted. Because we combine STBC and comvolutional code, the proposed scheme can get a diversity gain of STBC and coding gain of convolutional code at the same time. Unlike existing viterbi docoding algorithm using Hamming distance in order to calculate branch matrix, the modified viterbi algorithm uses Euclidean distance value between received symbol and reference symbol. To analyze the system proposed, it was simulated by changing the constraint length of the convolutional code and the number of transmit and receive antennas of STBC.

  • In this paper, we propose a concatenated single antenna diversity system to assure the data transmission reliability between flight type air nodes which move according to their atypical orbit, then analyze its performance. The proposed system achieve a diversity gain using single antenna and a coding gain from convolutional code simultaneously. Simulation result about the bit error rate(BER) of the proposed system shows that its BER performance is about 9.5dB greater than convolutional code at $10^{-4}$ and about 14dB greater than space time block code at $10^{-3}$ which has a full diversity gain. In addition, compared with space time trellis code with diversity gain and coding gain, the proposed system shows the better 4dB at a BER of $10^{-5}$. Therefore, it is necessary that concatenated single antenna diversity should be adopted to the reliable data transmission of flight type air nodes.

  • In this paper, we proposed two systems, STTC scheme and STBC-TCM scheme, to enhance the reliability of HDR-WPAN system and analyzed BER(bit error rate) performance of the proposed systems over the slow fading channel. The proposed systems had a diversity gain and coding gain without increasing an additional channel bandwidth. However, in terms of reliability, about 4dB improvement at BER=$10^{-4}$ was obtained by the STBC-TCM scheme. In addition, HDR-WPAN system with STBC-TCM scheme had a linear rise in system complexity of ML(maximum likelihood). From the results, STBC-TCM scheme was more appropriate to improve the reliability and channel efficiency and to reduce complexity of HDR-WPAN system.

  • This paper presents an LED driver which requires a high voltage gain (5-6 times). To achieve a high voltage gain, the tapped-inductor boost converter topology was used and through the analysis of converter's steady-state and its dynamic characteristics, the product design's reliability and validity were verified.

  • The state observer is being used widely because it has the advantage of the guarantee of reliability on financial problem, over heating, and physical shock. However, an Luenberger observer and a Sliding observer have such problems that an experimenter needs to know dynamics and parameters of the system. And also, the high gain observer has such a problem that it has transient state at the beginning of the observation. In this paper, the Neuro observer is proposed to improve these problems. The proposed Neuro observer complement a problem that occur from increase of gain of High-gain observer in proportion to the square number of observable state variables. And also, the proposed Neuro observer can tune the gain obtained by differentiating observational error at transient state automatically by using the backpropagation training method to stabilize the observational speed. To prove a performance of the proposed observer, it is simulated that the comparison between the state estimate performance of the proposed observer and that of Sliding, High gain observer is made by using a sinusoidal input to the observer which consists of four layers in stable 2nd order system.

  • PM(Preventive Maintenance) can avail the generating unit to reduce cost and gain more profit in a competitive supply-side power market. So, it is necessary to perform reliability analysis on the power systems in which reliability is essential. Thus, to schedule optimal PM planning based on reliability that is defined RCM(Reliability-Centered Maintenance), FMECA(Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis) assessment is very important. Therefore, in this paper, the procedure of FMECA assessment for optimal RCM is proposed by probabilistic approach using real historical failure data of combustion-turbine generators in Korean power systems. The stochastic FMECA is performed based on the effects of probable failure modes of combustion-turbine generating unit.
