When the eigenvalues of the input covariance matrix of an array system spread by orders of magnitude, conventional adaptive arrays can't remove all the interference signals effectively In this paper, an Applebaum array adopting an adaptive gain controller (AGC) in the feedback loop of the array is proposed When eigenvalue spreaded interferences are incident to an array, a high power interference is removed easily in several iterations while a relative low power interference which is a cause of eigenvalue spread is still remained In the array output After some initial iterations, the proposed array increases the correlation between the low power interference and the array output by amplifying the output signal of the array As a result, the weights vector adapts to the direction of the low power interference as well as that of the high power interference Computer simulation results show that the proposed array gives high output signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) and a fast convergence speed.
The control system design of 2-DOF for SISO process by root locus technique is not complicated and efficiently. It can design the control system to have the transient and steady state responses, and do not adjust the gain of process controller later. However, due to control system design for MIMO process, by root locus technique, there is not exact method. This paper is presents the control system design method for Quadruple-Tank Process, by using root locus technique for the structure of 2-DOF control system. The design procedures are first decentralized then using the relative gain array, and finally 2-DOF controller design is applied.

Fabry-Perot cavity(FPC) antennas with artificial magnetic conductor(AMC) surface are designed in order to provide scan capability by $4{\times}1$ array feed inside the cavity. The proposed antenna, excited by $4{\times}1$ thinned array, not only achieve higher directivities but also improve suppression of sidelobe level(SLL) relative to that of the thin array alone. The FPC antenna with the height of a quarter wavelength generate maximum gain of 19 dB, SLL suppression of 14 dB and maximum scan angle of $8^{\circ}$ under the feed phase difference of $90^{\circ}$ at the design frequency of 12 GHz.
Based on the requirements of a total weight of 42 kg or less, the NEXTSat-2 SAR (synthetic aperture radar) system was developed. As the NEXTSat-2 is a small-sized satellite, the SAR system was designed to account for about 40% of the dry mass of the payload relative to the total mass. Among the major components of the SAR system - which are an antenna, an RF transceiver, a baseband signal processor, and a power unit - a part with a particularly large dry mass is the antenna, the core of the SAR system. Whereas various selections are possible in consideration of gain and efficiency when designing the antenna, the micro-strip patch array antenna was adopted by reflecting the dry mass, power, and resolution required by the NEXTSat-2 project. In order to meet the mission requirement of the NEXTSat-2, the antenna was developed with a frequency of 9.65 GHz, a gain of 42.7 dBi, and a return loss of -15 dB. The performance of the antenna was verified by conducting a field test onboard the vehicle.

A service robot can identify its own position relative to landmarks, the locations of which are known in advance. The main contribution of this research is that it gives various ways of making the self-localizing error smaller by referring to special landmarks which are developed as high gain reflection material and coded array associations. In this paper, the authors propose a set of indices to evaluate the accuracy of self-localizing methods using the selective reflection landmark and infrared projector, and the indices are derived from the sensitivity enhancement using 3D distortion calibration of camera. And then, the accurarcy of self-localizing a mobile robot with landmarks based on the indices is evaluated, and a rational way to minimize to reduce the computational cost of selecting the best self-localizing method. The simulation results show a high accuracy and a good performance.

The Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is the most popular industrial controller and more than 90% process industries use this controller. During the past 50 years, numerous good tuning methods have been proposed for Single Input Single Output Systems. However, design of PI/PID controllers for multivariable processes is a challenge for the researchers. A comparative study of three PID controllers design methods has been carried-out. These methods include the DS (Direct Synthesis) method, IMC (Internal model Control) method and ETF (Effective Transfer Function) method. MIMO PID controllers are designed for a number of 2×2, 3×3 and 4×4 process models with multiple delays. The performance of the three methods has been evaluated through simulation studies in Matlab/Simulink environment. After extensive simulation studies, it is found that the Effective Transfer Function (ETF) Method produces better output responses among two methods. In this work, only decentralized methods of PID controllers have been studied and investigated.

Background: Males have a higher prevalence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) than females in general, but the reasons for the sex disparity are still obscure. DNA copy number alteration (CNA) is a major feature of solid tumors including HCC, but whether CNA plays a role in sex-related differences in HCC development has never been evaluated. Methods: High-resolution array comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was used to examine 17 female and 46 male HCC patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in Shanghai, China. Two-tailed Fisher's exact or ${\chi}^2$ tests was used to compare CNAs between females and males. Results: The overall frequencies and patterns of CNAs in female and male cases were similar. However, female HCC tumors presented more copy number gains compared to those in males on 1q21.3-q22 (76.5% vs. 37.0%, P = 0.009), 11q11 (35.3% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.0002) and 19q13.31-q13.32 (23.5% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.004), and loss on 16p11.2 (35.3% vs. 6.5%, P = 0.009). Relative to females, male cases had greater copy number loss on 11q11 (63.0% vs. 17.6%, P = 0.002). Further analyses showed that 11q11 gain correlated with 19q13.31-q13.32 gain (P = 0.042), 11q11 loss (P = 0.011) and 16p11.2 loss (P = 0.033), while 1q21.3-q22 gain correlated with 19q13.31-q13.32 gain (P = 0.046). Conclusions: These findings suggest that CNAs may play a role in sex-related differences in HBVassociated HCC development.

In this paper, We intended to design various things for the realization of SoS(System on Substrate) with SIW in 24GHz ISM 밴드(24-24.25GHz). As part of them, We integrated SIW, transition and MPAA as SoS on the same substrate and investigated its characteristics. We used Rogers Ro4350 with relative permittivity of 3.48 and thickness of 20mil. As results of optimal design, insertion loss of the SIW with 11.55mm length showed 0.32dB and insertion loss of 0.19dB occurred in transition to $50{\Omega}$ microstrip. Characteristics of the MPAA integrated on the same substrate as SoS are very similar to those of stand-alone MPAA. But the integrated MPAA decreased by 0.58dB in gain, which is the sum of SIW insertion loss and transition insertion loss, and by 0.7dB in SLL compared that of stand-alone MPAA. However, the bandwidth was increased by 19.4% as it changed from 670MHz to 800Mhz.

In this paper, we studied the Bartlett method to correctly estimate the targets of a unmanned vehicles. The Bartlett method estimates the desired signals by making the gain constant for the received signal incident on the array antenna. In this paper, the weights of the Bartlett method are updated by applying the winner method and steepest descent method in order to estimation the accurate unmanned. The updated weights improve the resolution of the existing Bartlett method by applying optimal weights to all received signals received at the array antenna. Through simulation, we are comparative analysis about the performance of proposed method. From result of simulation, We showed the superior performance of the proposed method relative to the classical method, and Bartlett using steep descent method showed more superior than one using wiener method.
