Daubechies [1] discoverd compactly supported scaling functions and corresponding wavelets with high regularities. It seems that there are no known compactly supported scaling functions other than Daubechies'. In this article, we will construct new scaling functions supproted in intervals of length $\leq 3$ without using deep analysis. While one of them is Daubechies' scaling function, others are less regular than Daubechies'. Also, we will show that Daubechies' scaling function is the unique one with highest regularity.

The Riemann-Stieltjes integrals of continuous functions with respect to a function of bounded variation can be represented by a regular, Borel, complex measure. In this paper, we study the link between the Riemann-Stieltjes integral and measure theory using this representation. Specifically, we investigate the Riemann-Stieltjes integrability and its measurability. Furthermore, we derive a criterion for Riemann-Stieltjes integrability through a method different from known proofs. In particular, we calculate the upper and lower Riemann-Stieltjes integrals with respect to a monotone increasing function.

In this paper we generalize large-update primal-dual interior point methods for linear optimization problems in [2] to the $P_*(\kappa)$ linear complementarity problems based on a new kernel function which includes the kernel function in [2] as a special case. The kernel function is neither self-regular nor eligible. Furthermore, we improve the complexity result in [2] from $O(\sqrt[]{n}(\log\;n)^2\;\log\;\frac{n{\mu}o}{\epsilon})$ to $O\sqrt[]{n}(\log\;n)\log(\log\;n)\log\;\frac{m{\mu}o}{\epsilon}$.

This paper introduces doubly Winsorized Poisson auto-model by truncating the support of a Poisson random variable both from above and below, and shows that this model has a same form of negpotential function as regular Poisson auto-model and one-way Winsorized Poisson auto-model. Strategies for maximum likelihood estimation of parameters are discussed. In addition to exact maximum likelihood estimation, Monte Carlo maximum likelihood estimation may be applied to this model.

We can build regular relationships with customers by integrating SNS (Social Networking Service) and internet shopping mall functions. For example of direct dealing of agricultural products, consumers can find news of regular sellers (seeding, farming, harvesting and new products) in the timeline at their SNS home. Then, they can purchase the necessary products by one click motion. The sellers provide news and discount information for building regular customers. Besides these SNS personal connection building, our system provides shopping mall functions to consumer's SNS home pages with auto classified catalog of products. Then, consumes easily find necessary products and these purchase may lead to regular relationships with sellers. Consumers may redistribute recommendations and reviews and it enables direct communications between consumers who are unknown to each other.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Pilates exercises on the improvement of blood pressure and respiratory function. 36 subjects which were randomly divided into Pilates exercises group(n=18) and control group(n=18). Subjects in the Pilates exercises group were regularly participated in Pilates exercise program for 8 weeks. We were measured the blood pressure and respiratory function such as blood pressure, VO2max, METs, and Anaerobic threshold at before and after the experiment. After 8 weeks, in Pilate exercises group, there were significant improvement on blood pressure and respiratory function except the diastolic blood pressure. And subjects participated in Pilates exercise group were significantly improved compared to control group on systolic blood pressure, VO2max, METs, and Anaerobic threshold. But in control group, there were no significant differences. In conclusion, regular participation in Pilates exercises improved the blood pressure and respiratory function. These results suggest that Pilates exercise is the method that replace aerobic exercise.

Atrial fibrillation is the most common of all cardiac arrhythmias. It is associated with significant morbidity and mortality and is frequently resistant to medical therapy. On the experimental and clinical study, the presence of macroreentrant circuits and the absence of either microreentrant circuits or evidence of atrial automaticity suggests that atrial fibrillation should be amenable to surgical ablation. The results of the maze III procedure are associated with a higher incidence of postoperative sinus rhythm, improved long-term sinus node function, fewer pacemaker requirements, less arrhythmia recurrence, and improved long-term atrial transport function. We had experienced 4 patients with chronic atrial fibrillation. For the first time, Hioki procedure had been performed in the first patient with ASD and atrial fibrillation, regular sinus rhythm showed on postoperative EKG, but junctional rhythm and bradycardia developed postoperative 3 years. The maze III procedure for the rest with mitral valvular disease and atrial fibrillation had been done, followed by regular sinus rhythm for 2 patients and atrial fibrillation for 1 patient, managed with amiodarone, on immediate postoperative state. Echocardiogram documented good contraction of right atrium and hardly contraction of left atrium for 2 patients with regular sinus rhythm postoperative 3 months.

We have evaluated the effect of long term treatment of Enicostemma littorale (E. littorale) in type 2 diabetic patients taking pills of aqueous extract of E. littorale regularly as a complimentary medicine for at least 9 months. The effects of E. littorale on glycemic control, lipid profile, cardiac function and DNA damage in these patients were compared with those who had not been regular in taking E. littorale but regular in taking other conventional anti-diabetics. Our data suggest that, E. littorale can maintain normal blood glucose, serum insulin, serum triglycerides levels of type 2 diabetic patients if taken regularly. E. littorale also improves insulin sensitivity, and normalize disturbed lipogram and elevated creatinine levels, thereby produces beneficial effect in preventing cardiovascular complications and may preserve the kidney function. The finding that E. littorale also prevents DNA damage suggest a long term effect in diabetic patients. E. littorale thus can be considered as safe supplementary therapy for a long term and effective management of type 2 diabetic patients.
