Carbohydrate intake is decreasing along with the reduction of rice consumption among the Korean population. There is an increasing trend of diet-related degenerative diseases with the increased consumption of animal food, and therefore, the increase of animal food intake can be considered as one of causes of the diet-related disease. The objective of this study is to investigate the differences in rice preference and breakfast patterns between the subjects have breakfast regularly and those skipping it. One thousand participants were selected by the stratified sample method from the primary, middle, high school and college, and company workers from 24 cities of Kyeonggi-do. The interviewing procedure was carried by regional home extension workers. Approximately half participants (49.9%) were under the age of 20. Although 86% of the subjects considered eating breakfast good for health. only 46.4% of the subjects had breakfast regularly (HB). The rest of them skipped breakfast (SB) more than twice a week. The proportion of subjects hiving no breakfast were 9.3% of male and 12.2% of female subjects. The main reason for not having breakfast was due to the limited time. For their breakfast 85% of the HB ate boiled rice with the side dishes. More subjects in SB (27.8%) preferred the boiled rice with various grains for breakfast than those of HB (21.8%). The subjects in HB (65.5%) preferred boiled plein rice more than those of SB (56.9%). In cases they must have breakfast, 47.7% of the subjects wanted rice with the side dishes,24.2% preferred rice ball or rice roll with laver, 10.5% preferred a rice beverage. More subjects in HB (59.8%) wanted rice with side dishes than those in SB (36.9%). It was found out that selecting rice at the breakfast is still the main choice. Diverse ready-to-eat rice menus have to be developed to increase the rice consumption, specially to increase breakfast eating frequencies of SB through saving time and effort. Background and Objectives:Peripheral nerve sheath tumors(PNSTs) are uncommon neoplasm in the head and neck region. The treatment of PNSTs is surgical removal, but excision cause neurologic complications. This study was performed to evaluate the proper diagnosis and treatment of PNSTs with our experiences. Subjects and Method:During the period from October 1994 to July 2007, 58 patients were diagonised with PNSTs in head and neck region. We reviewed medical records and imaging study retrospectively. Result:95%(55/58) of the PNSTs in head and neck were benign;5%(3/58) were malignant peripheralnerve sheath tumors(MPNSTs). 63%(37/58) were neurilemoma, 20%(17/20) were neurofibroma, 2%(1/58) was perineuroma. 55 patients underwent surgery. 80%(45/55) of cases were treated with excision. Enucleation was performed in 7(14%) patients. All cases of benign neurogenic tumors showed no recurrence. Among 3 of MPNSTs 2 patients were Von Recklinghausen’s disease and expired with regional recurrence and lung metastasis. Conclusion:The benign PNSTs can be treated with enucleation if possible and observation can be another choice to minimize neurologic sequele.
Sustainable development is one of the important concept of the 21st century. Especially, Social sustainability is an important factor in today's society with the weakened community, and is needed exploring social sustainability in the residential environment as a container of human life. The purpose of this study was to develop the evaluation indicators and evaluation system of social sustainability in residential environment. In order to develop evaluation indicators first, the delphi expert survey was conducted to assess the adequacy of selected the evaluation indicators in previous studies. Second, expert survey using the method of AHP was progressed in order to analyze importance and weight of evaluation indicators and was analyzed using Expert Choice. The findings of this study are as followings; the evaluation system was composed of locality, communality and organisms. The communality is the most important. The locality was composed of historical and cultural, reflection of regional identity and homogeneous of regions. Reflection of local identity is the most important in locality area. The communality was composed of social integration environment, community activities and the community space. The community activities are the most important in communality area. The organism was composed of employment, self-sufficiency, welfare, population, safety and housing. Safety is the most important in the organism area.
This study aims to discuss what is needed for meaningful development of social service, focusing on Community Service Investment Project(CSIP). The contents of CSIP were analyzed on applying the Analytic Framework by N. Gilbert and H. Specht and the values that were the basis of social choice. Based on the analysis of output and policy value of this Project, this study draws three social service policy issues. First, 'localization' is needed to be emphasized more in CSIP because there are few programs that take into account the regional peculiarities. Second, as the social services focused on the individuality of the citizen is more important, it is necessary to examine 'sustainability' of CSIP. Third, in relation to the community building, it is necessary to discuss the modification of the CSIP's goals. As process for improving community, it is needed to review for local residents not participating in decision-making process, income-based user selection and appropriateness of the term 'investment' in the project name.

The traditional temples located in national parks have various functions, such as religious practice, tourist destination, and conservation for cultural and natural resources. One functions have implicit monetary values in terms of public benefits. The purpose of this study was to estimate both use and non-use conservation values for two traditional temples, Sinheungsa and Haeinsa, using the contingent valuation method. In the study, both single-bounded and double-bounded dichotomous choice methods were used in an application of Turnbull distribution-free model. A total of 659 visitors were interviewed, 350 in Sinheungsa and 309 in Haeinsa. The mean WTP (willingness to pay) for Sinheungsa using single-bounded method was 4,040 Won for the use value, 6,157 Won for the cultural conservation value, and 5,624 Won for the natural conservation value. The mean WTP for Haeinsa using single-bounded method was 6,463 Won for the use value, 8,769 Won for the cultural conservation value, and 8,013 Won for the natural conservation value. The total economic value of each temple accounted for 50% (Sinheungsa) and 80% (Haeinsa) of the total economic value of the associated national park. It was also found that the single-bounded method was more conservative than the double-bounded method in terms of value estimation. The WTP was highest for the cultural conservation value and lowest for the use values in both temples, with natural conservation values falling in the middle, which showed that people perceived traditional temples as the cultural heritage. Based on these results, it was suggested that traditional temples should be designated as an 'multiple heritage area' so that conservation can be used as the main criteria for various use programs.
Objectives: The purpose of the study was to develop a textbook of the integrated education of Korean food culture and language for married female immigrants. Methods: An analysis was conducted with the textbooks and researches for married female immigrants, and dietary life related contents were extracted. The contents were organized by activity oriented approach which is acquired the culture. The evaluation was conducted through depth interview with 6 married female immigrants through an analysis of the qualitative materials. Results: The text book comprised of 30 Korean food recipes with the target expressions and vocabularies. It also included Korean basic table setting, Korean table manner, main dishes and side dishes, basic cutting, seasoning and garnish, measure of the ingredients, symbolic food, regional food culture, choice of food ingredients, shopping, bargaining, taste expression, color expression, all sorts of spices, Korean traditional festival food, and seasonal customs and food. For intensifying communication, activity which is close to real life was added. Through cooking, married female immigrants expose words and sentence patterns and that allows to evaluate their level of understanding. We observed that the developed textbook is suited for married female immigrants' needs and cognitive level. The text book included a comparative study between Korean culture and their country's culture, which could provide the motive for accepting each other's cultures. The study showed how to develop a textbook that integrates Korean language education and Korean food culture and how to apply the textbook in real life. Conclusions: The correct understanding about Korean food culture could lead to improvements communication ability. Useful information which relates to Korean food, recipes, and food culture could increase daily life satisfaction. Conducting both cultural education and language education could increase the participation of married female immigrants in learning activities. Therefore this study could help these females to adapt Korean society and manage family dietary life effectively.

The aim of the present stud)r has been to obtain new and additional data allolwing a better design of sports garments as well as a better choice among some materiales, through measure-ment of body surface changes in the upper trunk in movement, measurement on the effects of local heating on other parts of the body and measurement of the thermal resistance of 6 types of materials applied on a manikin. In the first experiment, the upper trunk was divided in 32 Parts, the surface of which was measured by the tape method for two upper limb positions: extension at $90^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}$. In the second experiment, skin temperature, local thermal sensations and whole body thermal sensation were measured every 5 minutes during 40 minutes. The four areas of the shoulder, abdomen, hande and feet were heated with the hot pack at $50^{\circ}C$. In the third experiment, the regional thermal resistance of the various materials selected, in two different cases of clothing ease, have been measured by using a thermal manikin. Resultes of experiments were: 1. Extensions cause the upper front part of the trunk surface to lengthen vertically while the back tends to stretch in width. 2. Skin temperatures of the upper limbs are influenced by the abdomen and shoulder boatings. The correlation between the whole body thermal sensation and the upper trunk thermal sensation is significantly asserted. 3. Ceramic and aluminium coated materiales offer the most effective thermal resistance; ease in clothing increases the thermal resistance at the breast and the abdomen as well as the clo value of the materials.

Purpose: Verrucous carcinoma is a rare, low-grade and well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, representing as a warty tumor. Estimation of the incidence for cutaneous lesions is not available because they are rare. We describe a case of verrucous carcinoma, a rare type, complication of a chronic pressure ulcer of duration more than 15 years. Methods: A 17-year-old boy presented with a large lesion involving the sacral area, which had been neglected for about 15 years. He had a history of surgical extirpation 2 years ago, but not cured. Examination revealed a cauliflower-like mass arising from an irregularly oval-shaped tumor which was $6.0{\times}4.5cm$ in size with signs of infection and ulcer. The lesion involved the sacrococcygeal area, spreading to both medial gluteal regions. The perianal skin did not appear to be directly affected. Results: A preoperative punch biopsy revealed a extremely well differentiated verrucous carcinoma. There were positive results in immunohistochemistry in the items of p53, p63, Ki-67. An 'en-bloc' excision of the tumor with the clinically normal surrounding tissue was carried out. Reconstruction was achieved by local regional flap. Histopathological findings of the excised area fully confirmed the preoperative biopsy report. It remained free of recurrence for a period of about 8 months. Conclusion: We believe that in patients with buttock involvement, regardless of the extent of such tumors, surgical therapy should be considered as the first-choice of treatment as reconstruction can be performed without excessive impairment for the patient.
Fires in tunnels are an international concern and fatal accidental fires in tunnels seem to occur on annual. They have the potential to become much worse int the future as more and longer tunnels are constructed and as traffic densities increase. This is a serious problem. The main purpose of this study is to develop operational procedures for fire brigades in road tunnel fires. This study discussed the past to see what can be learned from the incidents that have already done in tunnels. 73 cases of road tunnel fires domestic and outside of Korea were investigated and classified into 4 incident categories. Among them, 4 tunnel fires are highlighted, focusing on the activities of fire brigades and operation. Regarding the establishment of the strategies for fire fighting, 6 kinds of fire scenario curves have been deducted with regard to the relation between intervention time and heat release rate. It made the choice from the defensive or aggressive fire fighting activities depending on two criteria i.e. response limit and maximum response time. Road Tunnel Classification models can be useful when a fire brigade evaluates fire risk levels in the tunnels under its jurisdiction from the firefighting point of view and sets up preventive measures.
As the rapid pace of modern society, people's daily life is becoming tenser and busier. We need a place to relax and to release our pressure. Coffee shops therefor become one of our best choice. With the strengthening of the expansion of the localized Starbucks coffee shop, it becomes extremely urgent for other coffee shops to enhance the space environment design to become outstanding in the coffee shop market. This paper researches and compares the indoor environment design of Starbucks coffee shops in four cities in China, namely Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing and four cities in Korea, namely Busan, Seoul, Seoul and Jeju. By comparing the design characteristics and the style of the interior environment of Korea-China coffee shops, we analyze the various elements of space design and summarize the differences in the environmental design of Korea-China Starbucks coffee shops. Moreover, we propose the strategic direction for the future design and the future development of coffee shops. The survey results show that the indoor environment design of Starbucks coffee brand mainly highlights the regional cultural characteristics. Starbucks shops utilize the fashion culture elements based on the local economic and cultural characteristics, aiming at creating a characteristic coffee brand culture and promoting the vigorous development of the coffee market.
