A Study on Quality and Economical Analysis of B-WLL and Optical Transmission Systems for Substituting M/W Relay System (M/W 중계장치 대체를 위한 B-WLL 및 광전송 장치의 품질과 경제성 분석에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, in order to exclude the expansion of M/W relay frequency or its new frequency assignment possibly, we analyzed a possibility of substituting M/W system by B-WLL or optical fiber network regarding service quality and economical points. To define the target of service quality, pre-condition and analysis method for the selected media have been derived to compare each other. E1 transmission with BER 10$^{-1}$ was chosen as a reference capacity, and service distance was calculated f3r the selected media as a function of availability. Also from the economical point we considered 3 systems such as optical fiber, M/W, and B-WLL based upon basic system structure, and analyzed them for various line configurations of fiber optic and B-WLL according to service period, system capacity, transmission distance, and data rate. It was confirmed that B-WLL can provide quality of service with 99.999 % availability within 1.6 km cell radius, and for optical fiber substitution, the leased fiber conduit on an electric pole is more economical than M/W system irrespective of service period, but in case of directly digging for underground conduit, it turned out ineffective regardless of cabling duct types.

Study on Integrated for Capacitive Pressure Sensor (용량성 압력센서의 집적화에 관한 연구)

  • For the purpose of designing novel capacitance pressure sensor, several effects on sensitivity such as parasitic capacitance effects, temperature/thermal drift and leakage current have to be eleiminated. This paper proposed the experimental studies on frequency compensation method by electronic circuit technique, C-V converting method with switched capacitor and C-F converting method with schmitt trigger circuit. The third interface circuit by frequency compensation method is composed to eliminate the drift and leakage component by comparision sensing frequency with reference frequency. The signal transmission is realized by digital signal to minimize the influence of noise and high resolution is obtained by means of increasing the number of digital bits. In the fabricated high performance C-V interface, the offset voltage was not appeared, and in case of voltage source, 4.0V, feed back capacitance, 10㎊, the pressure, 0~10 ㎪, the sensitivity of C-V converter is 28 ㎷/㎪.V, the temperature drift characteristic, 0.051 %F.S./$^{\circ}C$ and C-F converter shows -6.6 Hz/pa, 0.078 %F.S./$^{\circ}C$ respectively, relatively good ones.

Comparison between Indoor Noise Level and Subjective Response for Transportation Noise - Focusing on the Aircraft, Road traffic and Railway Noise (교통소음으로 인한 실내소음레벨과 주관반응 분석 - 항공기, 도로교통 및 철도소음을 중심으로)

  • A series of research to seek for the relationship between subjective responses and noise level for transportation noise have been proceeded, and their results showed similar for some cases and different for some other cases as well, which is considered due to the various conditions such as the way of survey, different scale applied, and country etc. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between sound level and subjective response for the different kinds of transportation noise. The noises recorded in real situation were played to thirty subjects with fourty nine adjectives. The percentage of people annoyed(% PA) and the percentage of people highly annoyed(% HA) were calculated from the subjective results and compared how many percent of people are annoyed and highly annoyed for the same sound level. As a result of calculating the average, the aircraft noise was highest and the white noise lowest. The relationship between window TL and average point was well correlated except the aircraft noise which was scattered because of high sound level at specific frequency and low TL at corresponding frequency. This means that appropriate rating method for airborne sound transmission should be sought for to evaluate outdoor noise which has different frequency characteristics. The Boltzmann equation for % PA and % HA was applied to predict the sound level corresponding to the percentage. It is concluded that the aircraft noise and road traffic noise have almost same response and the railway noise was same with white noise, used for the reference noise, annoyed lower than other noises about by 3 dB.

Measurements and Statistical Modeling of Ignition Noise from Vehicle (자동차 점화계통에서 발생된 전자파 잡음의 측정 및 통계적 모형)

  • The ignition noises from the vehicle are measured and the measurement data are statistically treated for modeling. The low-noise amplifier and band-pass filter are added between the receiver and the three axes antenna for low noise level measurement and the APD and PSD are measured in 800 MHz frequency range. The measured APD curves can be expressed in terms of sensitivity study of each model through 3(class A) or 6(Class B) parameters variation, and these optimal parameter can easily be calculated by using the Composite Approximation Algorithm. The selected APD parameter can be used for making the Data Base EM-environments and also applied to determine the output and sensitivity margin for the transmitter and receiver. 'Digital microwave transmission systems are equipped with equalizer against fading during multipath fading. In this paper, we proposed variable reference tap position equalizer that varies the reference tap according to fading type to archive better performance. We got the perf?mance improvement about 4~5 dB in MP condition and 2~3 dB in NMP condition from simulation results.

  • Recently, research on the Visual-MIMO by applying the concept of MIMO to communication between the LED array and camera is in progress. Although we already introduced the method for bit decision by using reference LED array pattern, it has the disadvantage of measuring the ISI each time when there is a change in the distance. To overcome this, in this paper, we propose a bit decision and error correction method used by using the luminance deviation without using the reference array pattern. First, we execute the bit decision using experimentally determined threshold. Next, we execute the error checking on the ON-LED and make a correction only if it is found to be error. Correction is determined by using the value of brightness deviation corresponding to the range of 68.2% (1) around the maximum frequency of the histogram for each ON-LED. We verify the performance of the proposed method according to the variation of ISI with distance by using both numerical and experimental analysis.

A Study on the Errors for the Improved Version of the Virtual Transmission-Line Model (개선된 가상의 전송선로 모델의 오차 연구)

  • An open-ended coaxial probe method has been considered as one of effective tools for measuring electrical properties of its contacted material without shaping and fitting. The measured reflection coefficient at the probe's end is able to convert into the corresponding complex permittivity by employing the improved version of virtual transmission-line model Presented by our lab already. But the error of complex permittivity converted by equivalent model increases as the operating frequency ascends high. The errors of complex permittivity in the open-ended coaxial probe can be yielded compositively by the imperfect contact or probe, manufacture error of probe and complex permittivity error of reference material etc. Therefore it is necessary to limit the problem to identify the error causes in high frequency. In this paper, the errors which are resulted from the measurement of reflection coefficient are removed by using the FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method, the error causes are limited the conversion model problem. And the error study of the improved conversion model is performed from several viewpoints. At first, the local minimum of parameter to be calculated by the iteration method in the conversion model is checked. At second, the modeling of the equivalent model is checked in the frequency range. From this study, we know the valid range of the improved conversion model.

  • Low-power radio frequency (RF) chip transceiver technology and the associated structural health monitoring platforms have matured recently to enable high-rate, lossless transmission of measurement data across large-scale sensor networks. The intrinsic value of these advanced capabilities is the allowance for high-quality, rapid operational modal analysis of in-service structures using distributed accelerometers to experimentally characterize the dynamic response. From the analysis afforded through these dynamic data sets, structural identification techniques can then be utilized to develop a well calibrated finite element (FE) model of the structure for baseline development, extended analytical structural evaluation, and load response assessment. This paper presents a case study in which operational modal analysis is performed on a three-span prestressed reinforced concrete bridge using a wireless sensor network. The low-power wireless platform deployed supported a high-rate, lossless transmission protocol enabling real-time remote acquisition of the vibration response as recorded by twenty-nine accelerometers at a 256 Sps sampling rate. Several instrumentation layouts were utilized to assess the global multi-span response using a stationary sensor array as well as the spatially refined response of a single span using roving sensors and reference-based techniques. Subsequent structural identification using FE modeling and iterative updating through comparison with the experimental analysis is then documented to demonstrate the inherent value in dynamic response measurement across structural systems using high-rate wireless sensor networks.

유기태양전지와 유기발광다이오드에 적용 In-Mo-O 투명 전극의 특성 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 DC/RF co-sputtering공법을 통해 제작한 In-Mo-O 투명 Mo doping 농도 및 열처리 온도에 따른 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 특성을 분석하고, 최적화된 In-Mo-O 투명전극을 유기태양전지(OPVs)와 유기발광다이오드(OLED)에 적용하여 그 가능성을 평가하였다. Mo doping 농도는 co-sputtering 공정 중 MoO3에 인가되는 radio-frequency (RF) power를 변화시켜 조절되었으며, 투명전극의 광학적 특성 및 전기적 특성 향상을 위해 성막 공정 후 급속 열처리 공정을 온도 별로 진행하였다. In-Mo-O 투명 전극은 Mo 도핑 농도에 영향을 받음을 확인할 수 있었고, 최적화된 Mo doping 파워에서 성막한 In-Mo-O 박막은 급속 열처리 공정 후 면저항 24.57 Ohm/square, 투과도 81.57% (400~1,200 nm wavelength)를 나타내었다. Bulk hetero-junction 기반의 고효율 유기태양전지와 유기발광다이오드 적용하기 위해 본 연구에서 제작된 IMO 투명전극의 구조적 특성, 결정성 및 표면특성은 x-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy(AFM), field effect scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) 분석을 통해 진행하였다. In-Mo-O 투명 전극상에 제작된 OLEDs와 OPV는 reference ITO 전극에 제작된 OLEDs/OPV와 비교할 때 유사하거나 향상된 특성을 나타내었으며 이는 In-Mo-O 박막이 OLED/OPV용 투명 전극으로 적용이 가능함을 말해준다.

Design of the Low Hunting Controller for the Reticle Stage for Lithography (VCM을 이용한 노광기용 정밀 레티클 스테이지의 저진동 제어시스템 개발)

  • This paper presents a new design of the precision stage for the reticle in lithography process and a low hunting control method for the stage. The stage has three axes for X, Y, ${\theta}_z$ those actuated by three voice coil motors individually. The designed reticle stage system has three gap sensors and voice coil motors, and supported by four air bearings and the forward/inverse kinematics of the stage were solved to get an accurate reference position. When a stage is in regulating control mode, there always exist small fluctuations(stage hunting) in the stage movement. Because the low stage hunting characteristic is very important in recent lithography and nano-level applications, a special regulating controller for ultra low hunting is proposed in this paper. Also this research proposed the 2-step transmission system for preventing the noise infection from environmental devices. The experimental results showed the proposed regulating control system reduced hunting noise as 35nm(rms) when a conventional PID generates 77nm(rms) in the same mechanical system. Besides the reticle stage has 100nm linear accuracy and $1{\mu}rad$ rotation accuracy at the control frequency of 8kHz.

Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Extremely Low Frequency Magnetic Field in the Vicinity of the Transformer Station of Overhead Power Lines

  • This paper studies the magnetic fields between the power lines which are finite length and other ones which are infinitely long around the first tower in the proximity of the power transformers. They will be used as a source of disturbance applied to the power line. The method applied in this study was gradual; develop the theoretical formulation of the magnetic fields of these lines which are finite length and other ones which are infinitely long, examine the effects of different couplings between the different neighboring lines and the distribution transformers on behavior of magnetic fields. The method also focused on the experimental results analyzing the magnetic fields which will be used as a source applied to the auditory implants EMC. The theoretical and experimental results were compared and discussed for three power lines (90kV, 150kV and 225kV) near the power station, and it proved the effect of these substations on the simulated and measured results of the magnetic field. The maximum intensities of magnetic fields measured at the height of 1m from the ground for the circuit of three lines close to each substation were significantly lower than the ICNIRP reference levels for occupational and non occupational exposures.
