Structural Design of Vibration Controlled Tall Building with Overhang Structure

  • This paper describes the structural design of a 212 m tall building currently under construction in the Tokiwabashi District Redevelopment Project facing Tokyo Station. In this project there was a requirement to rationally solve many issues arising from the conditions of the redevelopment project. In particular, the following two points were considered to be important from the point of view of structural design. 1) To provide an overhang frame with the perimeter columns on the lower stories inclined, in order to enable a typical floor area that greatly exceeded the limitations of the underground structure shape. 2) To provide high grade seismic performance for the office buildings to be constructed on prime city center land. LSCVCS (Lower Stories Concentrated Vibration Control System) was proposed as the method of rationally designing the overhang frame, which is an extremely disadvantageous element in the structural scheme of the tall building with a large slenderness ratio. LSCVCS is a system to provide effective damping by arranging vibration control devices in a concentrated manner in a lower story with large story height, that produces large deformation in an earthquake. Also, the vibration control devices arranged in the lower story are limited to viscous devices, to take into consideration the residual deformation of the overhang frame after an earthquake. The results of investigations into the specific effects of the system for the seismic design are reported, including Performance-based seismic design.

  • 부산은 경사진 구릉지에 고밀화 된 불량 주거지가 여전히 많이 남아있으며, 특히 항만 배후지역에 주로 입지하고 있어 항만 시설과 관련된 계획들로 인해 경관적, 생활적, 환경적 영향을 많이 받는다. 특히 부산 동구 일원의 주거지는 북항재개발 지역이 조망되며, 현재 주거환경개선사업이 계획되어 있는 곳으로 경관적 변화가 클 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 부산 동구 구릉지의 불량 주거지역을 대상으로 환경개선사업 전, 후 경관 이미지에 대한 분석 및 예측(SD분석 및 요인분석)을 통하여, 정비사업으로 인해 지역의 경관적 이미지가 정리, 정돈된 이미지를 가질 수 있을 것으로 예상되지만 한편으로는, 지역이 가지고 있던 고유한 안락감이나, 생동감 등의 이미지는 다소 잃을 것으로 예상되어, 지역 고유의 이미지를 보존하되, 노후화로 인해 인접지역과의 경관적 괴리감은 줄일 수 있도록 물리적 시설의 올바른 계획 방향성을 모색하고자 하였다.

  • This study is about the research of living environment in residential areas created by the land readjustment projects in the modern era, and recently lifted from Residential Environment Improvement district at the same time. The five criteria for evaluating the residential area are safety, health, convenience, comfort, and sustainability. The level of resident satisfaction in general is as follows. [completely dissatisfy as 5.30%, dissatisfy as 16.29%, neutral as 49.62%, satisfy as 16.29% and completely satisfy as 6.82%]. The results of the five survey items on the residential areas show that residents are aware of the area not as an old residential area to be demolished, but as a comparatively excellent residential area, namely very different results from the designation criteria of the redevelopment area designated by the Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act. If the road conditions and the deterioration of the buildings are judged to be designated as the redevelopment area and to be removed these settlements, the residential areas with social sustainability could demolished. Based on this study, it is necessary to conduct the research to find out the reason for deriving the results of each evaluation item in the succeeding study. These studies are needed to rediscover, to develop and manage the value of many old residential areas scattered in the city centers of local areas.

건축물에 영향을 미치는 열차하중에 대한 방진공사에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Construction Work to Reduce Vibration Effect to the Structure)

  • Recently, the expansion of social infrastructures and urban redevelopment, the construction works have been a rapidly increase. The subway's noise and vibration are on a continuously increasing status in its importance as by the industrial and cultural development process. Nevertheless, in our country, adequate alternative idea for the construction noise and vibration are not yet established. In this point, the purpose of this study is to know the vibration effect to the structure. This study was used to determine the standard of vibration and the way of losing vibration. The case of construction site is a good example. The data of this study was obtained by a construction company in Korea. Vibration effect could cause structural problems and affect human mental state. The results of this study are as follows; check the vibrating point, determine the suitable limit of vibration, make a good plan and construction.

폐콘크리트 미분말 대체율 및 양생방법에 따른 압출경화체의 강도특성 (The strength characteristic of extruding solid according to substitution ratio and curing methods of waste concrete powder)

  • Recently, by-products from concrete industry are generated in large quantities because of urban redevelopment. Accordingly, waste concrete powder(WCP) inevitably generated in the course of crushing, screening, and separating the waste concrete also show high emission and be increasing gradually, but which is mostly buried with waste concrete aggregate. This is a basic research to increase the value added utilization rate of WCP. We have examined strength characteristic of extruding panel with WCP, depending on the curing methods. The result of study shows similar strength to the base specimen in autoclave curing condition. And in autoclave curing condition, the specimen with WCP of 20% and 30% satisfy the target strength of 14MPa.

지속가능한 개발을 위한 농촌전원단지 설계 연구 (A Study on the Designing for Rural Housing Block Considering Sustainable Development)

  • This study is about architectural design for rural housing block redevelopment for districts with existing residents considering sustainable development. The study suggests development direction focusing on preserving the regional characteristics, and presentation of suburban-style housing complex reflecting on the future tenant's individuality and demand. The preexisting development approach for suburban-style housing complex which was planned by the developer, failed to recognize taste of the future tenants. Profitability being the priority, it also resulted in a serious environmental disruption. In this development however, through a systematic direction for site development and site analysis, conducting surveys through future tenants, attempted for a continuous growth of the community. The study is presented covering the following areas; site's pathway system, nature conservation plan, lot plan, land use, arrangement plan, housing plan and community facility.

로짓 模型을 利用한 都心居住의 適住者 選定에 관한 硏究 - 大邱市를 中心으로 - (Study on the Selection of Suitable Resident for C.B.D. Living by Using the Logit Model -The Case of Taegu City-)

  • This study is for the development of C.B.D. residential land that is available in the changeable housing market and urban planning paradigm. The results are as follows. First, we developed a Logit model to analyzed the suitable resident for living downtown and we used several variables in the model such as their living place, the location of their works, in come according to sex and age, and whether they have a car or not. Second, in analysis for the suitable residents using the Logit model, the main demanders who live in C.B.D. or have a job there and the young and old were chosen, Third, it shows that the suitable residents prefer semi-C.B.D. because it has convenient accessibility to C.B.D. rater quickly (in ten minutes). They prefer apartment and Mixed-Use building. Fourth, there are much residential land in semi-C.B.D. (63.7%) so as to support enough land in ease of redevelopment. The land price is tremendously low compared to that of land for business or for C.B.D.

A Risk Performance Measurement System for the Mega-Project

  • In recent years, interests and studies on the urban regeneration projects have been increased and largely conducted. It is a part of the effort that solves some social and economical problems occurred by deteriorated buildings and degraded infrastructures through new urban regeneration projects or redevelopment projects. However, the urban regeneration projects show the characteristics that can not guarantee in the project performance because the projects have various and complex stakeholders related to these projects and are exposed to lots of risks due to its huge scale. This study proposed the risk performance index method to improve the efficiency of the overall performance measurement for a mega-project by extending from the traditional cost/schedule based performance measurement system. The risk performance index method proposed in this study has a similar system to the EVMS, and makes possible to perform a three dimensional integrated performance measurement in cost/schedule/risk through 18 different indexes that compose the risk performance index.

  • 본 연구에서는 지하공간에서 화재 발생 시 배연장비의 연기배출 성능을 평가하기 위하여 실험을 실시하였다. 배연장비로는 일선 관서에서 사용 중인 배연차를 사용하였다. 실험은 재개발 예정 지하 노래방에서 수행되었다. 배연차의 가동에 따라 실내 온도분포 및 연기농도를 측정하였다. 배연차를 가동함으로 인하여 복도에서 온도가 $50^{\circ}C$ 이하로 감소하였으며 가시도 또한 향상되었다.

  • Reconstruction and redevelopment of old and dilapidated apartment and housing have been increasing to provide more housing accommodation and to secure the safety of building structures since the middle of 1990's. Since, however, little researches on the demolition technique have been made, conventional mechanical demolition method were applied to the most of works that resulted in flooding in small demolition companies. Problems associated with mechanical demolition method are increase not only in working days and costs, but also in public claims, particularly for high-rise building structures. This is to contribute the demolition industries bt providing the concept, standards, and technique of demolition engineering while maximizing working efficiency and minimizing public claims.
