재생굵은골재를 사용한 고강도 콘크리트의 동결융해 특성 (Freezing and Thawing Properties of High Strength Concrete Using Recycled Coarse Aggregate)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the freezing and thawing properties of the high strength concrete using recycled coarse aggregate. The recycled coarse aggregate replaced natural crushed aggregate by 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The compressive strength of the concrete using recycled coarse aggregate showed more than 300 kgf/$cm^2$ at the curing age 28 days. The mass loss ratio by freezing and thawing was less than 1% at all mix type. The relative dynamic modulus of elasticity was decreased with increasing the freezing and thawing cycles. Also, the durability factor by the freezing and thawing was decreased with increasing the content of recycled coarse aggregate. But, the recycled concrete except 100% recycled coarse aggregate showed 60 or more durability factor in the freezing and thawing 300 cycles. Accordingly, these recycled coarse aggregate can be used for high strength concrete.

  • 최근 천연골재의 부족현상과 더불어 도심지의 재개발 재건축 사업 등이 진행됨에 따라 발생하는 막대한량의 폐콘크리트는 현재 당면하고 있는 심각한 문제라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 원콘크리트의 배합조건 및 골재특성이 콘크리트의 유동 및 강도특성에 미치는 영향을 평가할 목적으로 동일 배합조건의 공시체를 제작하여 6개월간 폭로시킨 후, 파쇄하여 순환 골재로 사용함으로서 원콘크리트에 적용된 콘크리트의 특성이 순환골재의 기초특성에 미치는 영향을 평가하고, 아울러 천연골재와의 혼합비율에 따른 품질개선 효과 등에 대하여 검토하였다. 검토결과, 순환골재를 단독으로 사용하는 방안보다는 양질의 천연골재와 함께 적정비율 혼합하고, 여기에 물-결합재비가 다소 큰 일반강도 범위의 콘크리트에 대상으로 활용하는 것이 유효하다는 결론을 얻었다.

저품질 순환골재를 활용한 콘크리트 성능 평가 (Evaluation of the concrete using low quality recycled aggregate)

  • 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 적용 저품질 순환골재의 콘크리트 적용을 위하여 공학적 특성을 평가 하였다. 이를 위해서 저품질 순환골재의 세척유무에 따라서 골재 치환율을 30%, 60%, 100%로 콘크리트 제작하여 실험하였으며, 성능평가를 위하여 제작된 순환골재 사용 콘크리트의 압축강도, 흡수율, 표면전기저항, 초음파속도, 염소이온침투저항성 평가를 실시하였다. 세척한 저품질 순환골재의 경우 30% 치환시 천연골재와 유사한 결과를 모든 시험에서 나타내었다. 또한 60%를 치환한 콘크리트에서도 천연골재와 유사한 성능을 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 100%의 골재를 사용하는 것은 천연 골재 보다 다소 낮은 결과 값을 나타내었다. 반면 세척을 하지 않은 저품질 순환골재의 경우는 치환율에 관계없이 전체적으로 천연골재보다 좋지 않은 결과를 나타내었다. 특히 내구성 평가의 척도로 평가한 염소이온침투저항성 평가에서는 초기의 경우 매우 높음의 결과를 나타내었으며, 28일 재령에서도 보통 수준의 저항성을 나타내어 세척 순환골재와 약 2배 정도의 차이를 나타내었다. 따라서, 저품질 순환골재의 콘크리트 적용에 있어서 골재의 세척유무에 따라서 성능이 변화하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • In practice, recycled aggregate is not used for a structural member due to its high absorbability and abrasion. It is, however, highly expected that the usage of recycled aggregate increases as the processing technique of the recycled aggregate progresses. In this study herein, the compressive strength of the recycled aggregate concrete was investigated. Coarse aggregate was replaced with 100% of the recycled aggregate, and cement and fine aggregate was replaced with various amount. The specimen was steam-cured at $80^{\circ}C$. It was shown that the concrete can obtain desirable strength when fine aggregate was replaced with up to 60% of recycled fine aggregate, and when cement was replaced with up to 15% of fly ash.

순환골재콘크리트의 탄성계수 추정에 관한 연구 (The prediction of Elastic Modulus of Recycled Aggregate Concrete)

  • This study investigated fundamental properties of the recycled aggregate which was produced through recent hi-techniques of recycling. In addition, the mechanical properties of the concrete that used the recycled aggregate were compared to the concrete used the natural aggregate. From the results of the mechanical property tests, as the recycled aggregate replacement ratio increased, the compressive strength and elastic modulus decreased. When the recycled aggregate completely replaced the natural aggregate, the compressive strength and elastic modulus was about 15$\%$ and 35$\%$ lower than the natural aggregate concrete, respectively. Based on the test results, equations for prediction of compressive strength and elastic modulus were suggested in the consideration of the amount of the replaced recycled aggregate. Based on the test results and study, the equation predicting the required development length of the recycled aggregate concrete is proposed.

순환골재를 활용한 포장용 시멘트콘크리트의 최적배합 도출을 위한 기초 연구 (Fundamental Study on Optimum Mixing Proportion of Cement Concrete Pavement using Recycled Aggregate)

  • OBJECTIVES : This study is to develop the optimum mixing proportions for cement concrete pavement with using recycled aggregates. METHODS : The mixture varied recycled coarse aggregates content from 50 % to 100 % to replace the natural coarse aggregates by weight. Tests for fundamental properties as a cement concrete pavement were conducted before and after hardening of the concrete. RESULTS : It was found that the variation in the amount of the recycled aggregate affected the compressive and flexural strength development, as well as the chloride ion penetration resistance. As the amount of the recycled aggregate content increased the compressive and flexural strength and the resistance to chloride ion penetration decreased. However, the resistance to freeze-thaw reaction was affected significantly. In addition, the gradation of the aggregate became worse and hence so did the coarseness factor as the recycled aggregate amount increased. CONCLUSIONS : The fundamental properties of the concrete with recycled aggregate does not seem to be appropriate when the recycled aggregate quality is not guaranteed up to a some level and its replacement ratio is over 50%. The optimized gradation of the aggregates should also be sought when the recycled aggregate is used for the cement concrete pavement materials.

  • The recycled aggregate obtained from the recycled concrete may be used in road construction as crushed aggregate. The properties of recycled aggregate are reached to the values in accordance with specification for the subbase layer of the road construction. However, for the base layer of road construction, the mixtures of recycled aggregate and crushed aggregate have to be used in order to satisfy the specification. In the Batch Leaching Test the recycled aggregate has lower content of heavy matal and organic matter than those written in environmental pollution law. So it does not occur the environmental pollution.

  • Recycled aggregate by the recycling construction waste has a lot of advantage such as the developing the alternative resource and protecting of environment. However, recycled aggregate is used as the low quality grade, because the technic to remove old mortar from aggregate is low level. To use the recycled aggregate as high quality grade, it is important to develop the technic to produce the high quality recycled aggregate. To manufacture the high quality recycled aggregate, old mortar attached on the aggregates should remove efficiently. Therefore, in this study, we suggested the optimum condition to remove old mortar effectively using sulfuric acid and low speed wet rotary mill for high quality recycled fine aggregate. The results shows that the recycled aggregate satisfy on the standards of KS F 2573 in density, absorption and solid volume when, adequate condition of sulfuric mole ratio and aggregate ratio are make.

  • The increase of the use of recycled aggregate is necessary for the decrease of building waste, but it is not possible to use concrete because of the various range of quality. Therefore, the quality grade and application method of recycled aggregate should be prescribed before the site application so in that this study we investigated the effect of the quality of recycled aggregate on the compressive strength, resistance freezing and thawing. As results of this study, the compressive strength of recycled aggregate concrete used recycled aggregate, as if it had high quality recycled aggregate is similar or higher to that of crushed stone. Also, this high quality recycled aggregate affect the increase of resistance freezing and thawing.

Mechanical properties of recycled fine glass aggregate concrete under uniaxial loading

  • This paper reports the results of an experimental study on the compressive strength and the stress-strain curve (SSC) of recycled fine glass aggregate concrete with different replacement percentages of recycled fine glass aggregate. The results show that the recycled fine glass aggregate contents have significant impact on the workability, compressive strength, the elastic modulus, the peak and the ultimate strains of recycled fine glass aggregate concrete. Analytical expressions for the stress-strain relationship of recycled fine glass aggregate concrete are given, which can satisfactorily describe the effect of the recycled fine glass aggregate on the SSC.
