Dynamic index storage and integrated searching service development (동적 색인 스토리지 및 통합 검색 서비스 개발)

  • In this paper, the integrated search system made for the web news and review retrieval service is introduced. We made XSLTRobot that extract title, date, author and content from html document like news or reviews for search service. XSLTRobot used the XSLT technology in order to extract desired part of html page. The Intergrated Information Retrieval System(IIRS) is suitable for various search data format. And we introduce Dynamic Index Storage which is module of IIRS. Dynamic Index Storage is used to environment which needs fast index update like news. And it's design focused on retrieval performance because there was not many document that it has to update on a real time.

  • The CDMA digital cellular systems provide better voice Quality than analog systems, however there exists inherent delays due to speech coding and transmission processing, which brings echoes returned by the BSC and PSTN interface. In this paper, we show the performance improvement of a proposed echo canceller by real time implementation, where Block Update NLMS algorithm is applied into the TMS320C54X DSP. By applying the proposed method into the practical mobile phone, we verify that various types of echoes (LE, ESE, AE) may be removed more precisely. We also cope with echo path change resulting from change of delay length after taking VAD to find echo path delay.

Fuzzy Logic Modeling and Its Application to A Walking-Beam Reheating Furnace

  • A fuzzy modeling method is proposed to build the dynamic model of a walking-beam reheating furnace from the recorded data. In the proposed method, the number of membership function on each variable is increased individually and the modeling accuracy is evaluated iteratively. When the modeling accuracy is satisfied, the membership functions on each variable are fixed and the structure of fuzzy model is determined. Because the training data is limited, in this process, as the number of membership function increase, it is highly possible that some rules are missing, i.e., no data in the training set corresponds to the consequent part of a missing rule. To complete the rulebase, the output of the model constructed at the previous step is used to generate the consequent part of the missing rules. Finally, in the real time application, a rolling update scheme to rulebase is introduced to compensate the change of system dynamics and fine tune the rulebase. The proposed method is verified by the application to the modeling of a reheating furnace.

  • According as the real economic activities are carried out in the cyber world and the identity problem of a trade counterpart emerges, digital signature has been diffused. Due to the weakness for real-time validation using the validation method of digital signature, Certificate Revocation List, On-line Certificate Status Protocol was introduced. In this case, every transaction workload requested to verify digital signature is concentrated of a validation server node. Currently this method has been utilized on domestic financial transactions, but sooner or later the limitation will be revealed. In this paper, the validation method will be introduced which not only it can guarantee real-time validation but also the requesting node of certificate validation can maintain real-time certificate status information. This method makes the revocation management node update the certificate status information in real-time to the validation node while revoking certificate. The characteristic of this method is that the revocation management node should memorize the validation nodes which a certificate holder uses. If a certificate holder connects a validation node for the first time, the validation node should request its certificate status information to the above revocation management node and the revocation management node memorizes the validation node at the time. After that, the revocation management node inform the revocation information in real-time to all the validation node registered when a request of revocation happens. The benefits of this method are the fact that we can reduce the validation time because the certificate validation can be completed at the validation node and that we can avoid the concentration of requesting certificate status information to a revocation node.

  • In this paper, we describe technologies of Intranet administrator and user application used in the PEC(Protocol Engineering Center) Office Intranet system which provides platform independent application framework using Internet/Intranet standard technologies for distribution of Web documents and real-time multimedia information. The PEC Office is composed of administrator applications to support environments for administration of all applications including group/user add, update, and delete facilities and construction of user directory and user applications to support schedule sharing, virtual library, job report, output management, budget management, and real-time audio/video broadcasting services. These applications allow differentiation and customization services according to department and title employed per users.

Development of Augmented Reality Walking Navigation App using Dijkstra Algorithm

  • There are a variety of apps that are finding their way. And in car navigation, we launched a product that reflects Augmented Reality technology this year. However, existing apps have problems. It is implemented in 2D or 3D, has a large error range because it has been modified in most vehicles, is not updated in real time, and car augmented reality navigation is a vehicle, and a separate device is required, etc. In this study, we implemented a smartphone app for walking directions using augmented reality, and made it possible to intuitively use a route service from a user 's location to a destination. The Dijkstra algorithm is applied to calculate the shortest path to solve the problem of finding the route with the least cost. By using this application, it is possible to use the route search service even in a data-free environment, to solve the inconvenience of the language barrier, and to update in real time, so that the latest information can be always maintained. In the future, we want to develop an app that can be commercialized by using a character in the path to promote it.

  • In this paper, we present a hybrid inertial and vision-based tracking system for VR applications. One of the most important aspects of VR (Virtual Reality) is providing a correspondence between the physical and virtual world. As a result, accurate and real-time tracking of an object's position and orientation is a prerequisite for many applications in the Virtual Environments. Pure vision-based tracking has low jitter and high accuracy but cannot guarantee real-time pose recovery under all circumstances. Pure inertial tracking has high update rates and full 6DOF recovery but lacks long-term stability due to sensor noise. In order to overcome the individual drawbacks and to build better tracking system, we introduce the fusion of vision-based and inertial tracking. Sensor fusion makes the proposal tracking system robust, fast, accurate, and low jitter and noise. Hybrid tracking is implemented with Kalman Filter that operates in a predictor-corrector manner. Combining bluetooth serial communication module gives the system a full mobility and makes the system affordable, lightweight energy-efficient. and practical. Full 6DOF recovery and the full mobility of proposal system enable the user to interact with mobile device like PDA and provide the user with natural interface.

  • This study is to improve the modification of survey data and efficiency of update using digital map based on PDA_based surveying mapping system. This object is achieved by developing wireless communication module of PDA which is adaptable to Totalstation, and contents for its usage. It is achieved by drawing up transformation module of dxf file to editing the text file and the drawing. And it is achieved by drawing up modification module to layer control. This system will be efficiently used to surveying parts of spatial location information for real time mapping ind point positioning in field work.

Thinning-Based Topological Map Building for Local and Global Environments (지역 및 전역 환경에 대한 세선화 기반 위상지도의 작성)

  • An accurate and compact map is essential to an autonomous mobile robot system. For navigation, it is efficient to use an occupancy grid map because the environment is represented by probability distribution. But it is difficult to apply it to the large environment since it needs a large amount of memory proportional to the environment size. As an alternative, a topological map can be used to represent it in terms of the discrete nodes with edges connecting them. It is usually constructed by the Voronoi-like graphs, but in this paper the topological map is incrementally built based on the local grid map using the thinning algorithm. This algorithm can extract only meaningful topological information by using the C-obstacle concept in real-time and is robust to the environment change, because its underlying local grid map is constructed based on the Bayesian update formula. In this paper, the position probability is defined to evaluate the quantitative reliability of the end nodes of this thinning-based topological map (TTM). The global TTM can be constructed by merging each local TTM by matching the reliable end nodes determined by the position probability. It is shown that the proposed TTM can represent the environment accurately in real-time and it is readily extended to the global TTM.

  • Update of road facilities database such as road sign, traffic lights, and street lights is interesting business in a local government. Recently, existing road facilities database, aerial photo and topographic map are referred for the installation and complement of road facilities. But it is difficult to comprehend road facilities' condition and additional expenses may appear in field survey. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and update road facility DB and many studies has been carried out to efficiently collect road related spatial data. In this study, the establishment of various complicated road facility DB was conducted by images that had been obtained by digital camera with a built-in bluetooth and DGPS. Results showed that road facility DB was constructed effectively and suggested the possibility of road facility management using images based on coordinate through accuracy analyses using total-station surveying. And using digital camera and DGPS is expected to effective real-time update and management of road facility DB.
