실시간 성형하중 계측을 통한 냉간단조 금형수명 정량예측 정밀도 향상 연구 (A Study on Improving the Precision of Quantitative Prediction of Cold Forging Die Life Cycle Through Real Time Forging Load Measurement)

  • The cold forging process induces material deformation in an enclosed space, generating a very high forging load. Therefore, it is mainly designed as a multi-stage process, and fatigue failure occurs in forging die due to cyclic load. Studies have been conducted previously to quantitatively predict the fatigue limit of cold forging dies, however, there was a limit to field application due to the large error range and the need for expert intervention. To solve this problem, we conducted a study on the introduction of a real-time forging load measurement technology and an automated system for quantitative prediction of die life cycle. As a result, it was possible to reduce the error range of the quantitative prediction of die life cycle to within ±7%, and it became possible to use the die life cycle calculation algorithm into an automated system.

  • Among many literary isms, impressionism is often regarded as the most frank expression of personality. As a masterpiece of modernism, Ford Madox Ford's The Good Soldier is a celebration of the subjectivity which reflects the writer's experiential reality. For Madox Ford, art is not to achieve the true objectivity of human society, but to seize the momentary perception in personal life. As the beginning of modernism, Madox Ford's impressionaism was mostly devoted to give fictive life to subjective impressions. And his heroes are usually the egoless person who can absorb the intense rapidity of consciousness without any prejudice. However, the innocent mind's receptions of myriad impressions, like those of the protagonist John Dowell or his idealized version of Major Ashburnham in The Good Solidier, were described as the enjoyable yet deceptive ones in Madox Ford's works. To engrave more sold perceptive impressions into life, Madox Ford often contrasts or mixes truth with deception, life with death as he did in his real life. Speicially as the result of thick application of real-life subject matters to his writings, Madox Ford's literary works get more vivid colors and penetrating forms. Thus, his literary impressionism based upon his harsh and passionate realities overcomes the limitations of shifting moments of senses, demolishing the boundaries between what is objective and what is subjective, like post-impressionism or expressionism. Namely, as Walter Lowenfels said, Madox Ford did not follow the impossible objectivity passively, yet instead "knew how to invent the truth."

유한 차분 모델을 이용한 알루미나의 열피로 수명 예측 (Thermal Fatigue Life Prediction of Alumina by Finite Difference Model)

  • Thermal history and thermal stress of alumina specimen, which occured from thermal shock process, were calculated by finite difference method. Stress intensity factor and crack growth in cyclic thermal fatigue were calculated from single thermal shock temperature history and thermal stress. Cyclic thermal life were estimated by bending strength after cyclic thermal shock under critical thermal shock temperature. Calculated stress intensity factor was compared with real experimental thermal fatigue life of specimen. Fatigue life until critical stress intensity factor and real experimental result were comparable.

  • The fatigue characteristics of a material or a structure are generally derived from fatigue tests of standard specimens. However, test results of standard specimens are different from those of real structures or components. Therefore, to calculate more accurate fatigue life, the geometrical effect and surface condition must be considered by comparing test results of standard specimens with those of real structures or components. Thus the object of this paper is to evaluate the fatigue characteristics of a real waterwork pipe. Also, to evaluate fatigue characteristic based on life distribution, the statistical fatigue characteristics were analyzed by the normal distribution and related data of P-S-N curve.

  • 타인과의 교류 능력은 사회생활의 핵심적인 요인이다. 하지만 현실에서는 교류가 제대로 이루어지 않아 의사소통의 어려움을 겪으면서도 게임이라는 인위적으로 만들어진 가상공간에서 가상의 캐릭터와 상호작용을 하는 사람들이 적지 않다. 이러한 의사소통의 부재 문제를 플레이어를 통해서 해결하려면 먼저 플레이어가 적극적으로 현실에서 교류를 할 수 있는 방안을 모색하던가, 또는 게임세계의 장점을 살려 게임 공간을 새로운 교류 장소로 만드는 것이다. 그러기 위해서는 플레이어가 현실과 게임세계에서 타인과의 교류에 어떤 특성을 가지고 있는지에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 현실과 가상공간에서 플레이어의 교류패턴을 제시시하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 수행하기 위해서 현장중심적인 접근 방법인 교류분석 도구인 자아상태 패턴을 나타내는 이고그램을 채택하여 연구를 수행하였다. 분설결과에 따르면 플레이어는 두 공간에서 교류패턴의 차이를 보였으며 그러한 차이의 해석을 위하야 요인분석을 적용하여 유의미적 관계를 해석하였다.

Real-Time Measurement of the Liquid Amount in Cryo-Electron Microscopy Grids Using Laser Diffraction of Regular 2-D Holes of the Grids

  • Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is now the first choice to determine the high-resolution structures of huge protein complexes. Grids with two-dimensional arrays of holes covered with a carbon film are typically used in cryo-EM. Although semi-automatic plungers are available, notable trial-and-error is still required to obtain a suitable grid specimen. Herein, we introduce a new method to obtain thin ice specimens using real-time measurement of the liquid amounts in cryo-EM grids. The grids for cryo-EM strongly diffracted laser light, and the diffraction intensity of each spot was measurable in real-time. The measured diffraction patterns represented the states of the liquid in the holes due to the curvature of the liquid around them. Using the diffraction patterns, the optimal time point for freezing the grids for cryo-EM was obtained in real-time. This development will help researchers rapidly determine high-resolution protein structures using the limited resource of cryo-EM instrument access.

A Systems Engineering Approach to Real-Time Data Communication Network for the APR1400

  • Concept development of a real-time Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based switched Ethernet data communication network for the Man-Machine Interface System (MMIS) is presented in this paper. The proposed design discussed in this research is based on the systems engineering (SE) approach. The design methodology is effectively developed by defining the concept development stage of the life-cycle model consisting of three successive phases, which are developed and discussed: needs analysis; concept exploration; and concept definition. This life-cycle model is used to develop an FPGA-based time-triggered Ethernet (TTE) switched data communication network for the non-safety division of MMIS system to provide real-time data transfer from the safety control systems to the non-safety division of MMIS and between the non-safety systems including control, monitoring, and information display systems. The original IEEE standard 802.3 Ethernet networks were not typically designed or implemented for providing real-time data transmission, however implementing a network that provides both real-time and on-demand data transmission is achievable using the real-time Ethernet technology. To develop the design effectively, context diagrams are implied. Conformance to the stakeholders needs, system requirements, and relevant codes and standards together with utilizing the TTE technology are used to analyze, synthesize, and develop the MMIS non-safety data communication network of the APR1400 nuclear power plant.

식생활교육 프로그램의 중요도-만족도 분석 - 서울·경기 식생활교육 프로그램 참여자를 중심으로 - (Importance-Satisfaction Analysis of a Dietary Life Education Program - Focusing on Dietary Life Education Program Participants in Seoul and Gyeonggi -)

  • This study was conducted to determine the elements that are required and that need improvement in the contents of dietary life education and the educational environment by analyzing the importance-satisfaction of a dietary life education program for dietary life education trainees. The results of the rank test for the satisfactory elements of dietary life education were in the order of competence of instructors, educational contents, time of education, educational environment and affordability of tuition. The importance-satisfaction analysis of the contents and construction of the dietary life education program showed that "suitable contents for the theme of the class", "contents and construction of practice class", "diversity of practice menu" and "diversity of educational contents" had high importance and satisfaction scores and therefore, could be maintained at their current levels. Meanwhile, "adequacy of class time" and "contents and construction of theory class" showed low importance and satisfaction scores, requiring a little effort. Whereas, "time and construction of group practice", "structure of textbook for class" and "duration of course and number of classes" showed relatively low satisfaction compared to importance, requiring major efforts for improvement. Similarly, analysis of the lecture element from dietary life education showed that "professional lecture by instructors", "lectures suitable for themes" and "lecture applicable in real life" had relatively low satisfaction compared to importance, requiring major efforts for improvement. In addition, analysis of the educational environment from dietary life education showed that "adequacy of lecture room space", "cooking equipment", "diversity of cooking utensils" and "sanitary condition of cooking utensils" also require major efforts for improvement. Therefore, dietary life education should not be executed with a simple delivery of knowledge but with both theory and practice classes to increase its application in real life, and active and specific efforts are required to nurture professional instructors and establish educational strategies.

재한 중국 조선족의 생활 형태 및 삶의 질에 관한 연구 (A Study on Real-Life Conditions and Quality of Life among Korean-Chinese in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was not only to identify real-life conditions of Korean-Chinese in Korea(clothing habits, eating habits, housing habits, economic life and leisure activities) but also to reveal the related variables that shall affect life quality. The subjects were selected from Korean-Chinese in Korea related to ‘Compatriots House’. The survey was conducted from June 20th to July 5th, 2000. A total of 225 questionnaires out of 350 were used as the final data analysis. All data were analyzed using the SAS/PC for frequency, percentage, F-test and Regression analysis. The study revealed the following results. 1. Significant differences were found in life quality of Korean-Chinese in Korea according to age(p<.05), optimum income (p<.001), health condition(p<.001), education level(p<.005), and entry motivation(p<.05). 2. Variable such as optimum income(β=.334) education level(β=-.190), monthly income(β=.170), health condition(β=.151), and self-esteem(β=.133) affected life quality of Korean-Chinese in Korea. Korean-Chinese’s life quality was explained by these variable(35%). The optimum income variable was the primary influential factor.

실생활 연계형 스토리텔링 수학 교과서 개발 -도형의 방정식 단원을 중심으로- (Developing the mathematics model textbook based on storytelling with real-life context - Focusing on the coordinate geometry contents -)

  • 본 연구는 실생활과 연계된 소재를 사용한 스토리텔링 수학 교과서의 도형의 방정식 단원 개발 사례에 대한 논의를 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 실생활 연계형 스토리텔링 교과서의 의미를 규정하고, 개발된 스토리의 개요와 차시별 개발 사례를 논의한다. 본 연구에서는 실생활 연계형 스토리텔링 교과서를 학생들의 현실 또는 실생활과 연관이 있는 상황을 스토리의 소재로 사용하여 수학적 개념들을 탐구하고 정리하는 활동들로 구성된 교과서로 정의한다. 개발된 스토리텔링 기하 교과서는 지도와 삼각자라는 실생활 소재를 이용하였는데, 지도는 좌표평면 단원 구성에, 삼각자는 직선의 방정식 단원 구성에 사용되었다. 스토리의 흥미를 높이기 위해 선생님과 두 학생, 그리고 악당의 대결구도로 이야기를 전개했다. 개발된 모델 교과서의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 적용 실험을 시행하였다. 연구에 참여한 서울 시내의 한 자율형 사립 고등학교 학생 25명 중 17명이 사전과 사후 설문 조사에 응답하였다. 학생들의 답변은 스토리텔링을 접목시킨 기하 교과서가 학습에 도움이 되었고, 지도와 삼각자와 같은 실생활 도구가 관련된 수학 개념의 이해를 도왔지만, 개발된 스토리텔링 교과서의 스토리는 개선될 필요가 있음을 시사하였다.
