The intent of chis descriptive study is to investigale lhe patients perceived effect and expectance of activity therapy. The subjects for this study were 56 patients from the psychiatric ward in Severance Hospital. The data were collected during Lhe period from June 1, 1991 to January 18, 1992. The effect and expectance of the activity therapy was measured using a questionnaire developed by this study's investigators. The date were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test ancl one-way ANOVA, using the SPSS program. The results of this study can ue summarized as following ; 1. For motivatiorc for the accivity therapy, the response range was from 64.;] % to 89.3 %, that is, it showed a relatively positive response. 2. For the degree of improvement according to the nurse's method in the activity therapy, it was shown that the nurses need professional skill and meeting after activity therapy. 3. For the relevance of the nurse in the activity therapy, 90 % of the subjects had a positive answer for all of the activity therapy except the painting therapy. 4. For the perceived effect of the activity therapy, the following results were obtained. 1) 92% of the subjects had a positive response to the dance therapy, that is-I am vigorous physically. 2) 90 % of the subjects had a positive response to the reading therapy, that is-I acquire good ideas and instruction. 3) 98.1 % of the subjects had a positive response to the recreation therapy, that is-I am joyful. 4) 88.9% of the subjects had a posilive response to the writing therapy, that is-I am interested and become acquainted with other patients. 5) 86.8 % of tbe subjects had a positive response to the occupation therapy, that is-I am happy when I work. 6) 92.6 % of the subjeccs had a positive response to lhe painting therapy, that is-I can express myself in painting. 7) 87.3% of the subjects had a positive response to the musie therapy, that is-I am comforted. 5. For the expectance related to the activity therapy, 97.1 % the subjects had the most postive response to the music therapy which is a pleasant comfortable time. From the above-mentioned findings, it is suggested that psychiatric nurses need to development systematic and professional group activity therapy, and know the patient premorbid hobbies, interests and occupations.
This study examined grapheme-to-phoneme regularity effect among late Korean-English bilinguals by using whole word level task (lexical processing) and two meta-phonological tasks(sub-lexical processing): [1] English word naming task(whole word level), [2] rhyme judgement task(rhyme level), and [3] phoneme deletion task(phoneme level). Forty-three late Korean-English bilinguals participated in all three tasks. In these tasks, participants showed better performance in regular word conditions compared to irregular word conditions, demonstrating a clear English regularity effect. Post-hoc correlational analysis revealed strong correlation between word naming task and rhyme judgement task, which is different from the results reported with English monolinguals. The contradicting results might be due to the relevantly low English proficiency level among late Korean-English bilingual speakers. In conclusion, this study suggests that late Korean-English bilinguals make use of L2 grapheme-to-phoneme conversion (GPC) rule when reading L2 English words.
Changes in demographic and economic conditions affect corporate strategy, labor market and social welfare. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of changes in population and economic situation on library use and to examine the income effect of library use. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, we analyzed the 10 year fixed library of public library statistics and statistical census data from 2008 to 2017 using the panel fixed effect model using the data of regional gross production and unemployment rate. And the changes in the economic and demographic characteristics of the region are used to confirm the regularity of the relationship between the changes in the usage situation of the libraries belonging to a certain region and the changes in the economic and demographic conditions in the respective regions. As a result of the analysis, the changes in the economic environment did not significantly affect the number of visitors to the library and the number of library users, but it was an important factor in the number of borrowers. This study is significant in that it shows how the economic environment changes affect the library. The result of this study is expected to be a theoretical basis for establishing the service policy of public libraries.

This research scrutinizes the data retention characteristics of the MLC NAND Flash Memory instigated by the loss effect of trapped charge when the memory is in the state of program saturation. It is attributed to the threshold voltage saturation phenomenon which engenders an interruption to the linear increase of the voltage in the memory cell. This phenomenon is occasioned by the outflow of the trapped charge from the floating gate to the control gate, which has been programmed by the ISPP (Incremental Step Pulse Programming), via Inter-Poly Dielectric (IPD). This study stipulates the significant degradation of thermal retention characteristics of threshold voltage in the saturation region in contrast to the ones in the linear region. Thus the current study evaluates the data retention characteristics of voltage after the program with a repeated reading test in various measurement conditions. The loss effect of trapped charge is found in the IPD layer located between the floating gate and the control gate especially in the nitride layer of the IPD. After the thermal stress, the trapped charge is de-trapped and displays the impediment of the characteristic of reliability. To increase the threshold saturation voltage in the NAND Flash Memory, the storage ability of the charge in the floating gate must be enhanced with a well-thought-out designing of the module in the IPD layer.
The purpose of this study was two-fold. First was to evaluate whether the molecular sieving model was appropriate for ionic dissociation experiment. Second was to compare the dissociation of calcium and hydroxyl ions from five types of calcium hydroxide pastes (Pure calcium hydroxide paste, DT temporary $dressing^{\circledR},{\;}Metapaste^{\circledR},{\;}Chidopex^{\circledR},{\;}Metapex^{\circledR}$) in three vehicles (aqueous, viscous and oily) and the antibacterial effect. Each calcium hydroxide pastes was placed into 0.65ml tube with cap and then 15% polyacrylamide gel was placed onto calcium hydroxide pastes. After the gel was hardened, the tubes were filled with tridistilled water (pH 7.14) and closed with cap. The tubes were stored in $37^{\circ}C$ 100% incubator The pH reading and the concentration of calcium ions were taken at 1, 4, 7. 10, and 14 days. The brain heart infusion agar plates with S. mutans and A. actinomycetemcomitans were used far antibacterial activity test. Middle of agar plate was filled with the calcium hydroxide pastes. The plates were incubated at $37^{\circ}C$ and observations were made to detect the zones of inhibition. These data were evaluated statistically by use of the analysis of variance and duncan test. The results were as follows. 1. In fresh mixing state, the pH of five types of calcium hydroxide pastes were measured between 12.5 and 12.8. 2. The pH was increased in all five types of calcium hydroxide pastes compared with control group. In 14 days, Pure calcium hydroxide paste (11.45) and DT temporary $dressing^{\circledR}$ (11.33) showed highest pH, followed by $Metapaste^{\circledR}$ (9.49), $Chidopex^{\circledR}$ (8.37) and $Metapex^{\circledR}$ (7.59) 3. Calcium was higher in all five types of calcium hydroxide pastes compared with control group. In 14 days, Pure calcium hydroxide paste (137.29 mg%) and DT temporary $dressing^{\circledR}$ (124.6 mg%) showed highest value, followed by $Metapaste^{\circledR}$ (116.74 mg%), $Chidopex^{\circledR}$ (111.84 mg%) and $Metapex^{\circledR}$ (60.22 mg%). 4. The zones of bacterial inhibition were seen around all five types of calcium hydroxide pastes. $Chidopex^{\circledR}{\;}and{\;}Metapex^{\circledR}$ groups which include iodoform were observed significantly larger zone of inhibition in A. actinomycetemcomitans compared with the other calcium hydroxide groups (p<0.05) However, $Metapex^{\circledR}$ showed the least antibacterial effect on S. mutans compared with other groups (p<0.05). The molecular sieving model was found to be acceptable in dissociation experiment of hydroxyl and calcium ions when compared with the previous tooth model study. But this model was not appropriate for the antibacterial test.

In Saccharomyces cerevisiae UV irradiation and a variety of chemical DNA -damaging agents induce the transcription of specific genes, including several involved in DNA repair. One of the best characterized of DNA -damage inducible genes is PHRI, which encodes the apoenzyme for DNA photolyase. Basal-level and damage-induced expression of PHRI require an upstream activation sequence, UASPHRI. Here we report the identification of the UlvIE6 gene of S. cerevisiae as a regulator of UASPHRl activity. Surprisingly, the effect of deletion of UME6 is growth phase dependent. In wild-type cells PHRI is induced in late exponential phase, concomitant with the initiation of glycogen accumulation that precedes the diauxic shift. Deletion of UNIE6 abolishes this induction, decreases the steady-state concentration of photolyase molecules and PHRI mRNA, and increases the UV sensitivity of a rad2 mutant. The results suggest that UM E6 contributes to the regulated expression of a subset of damage-responsive genes in yeast. Furthermore, the upstream repression sequence, URSPHRI, is required for repression and damage-induced expression of PHRl. Here we show identification of YER169W and YDR096W as putative regulators acting through $URS_{PHRI}$. These open reading frames were designated as RPHI (YERl69W) and RPH2 (YDR096W) indicating regulator of PHRI. Simultaneous disruption of both genes showed a synergistic effect, producing a four-fold increase in basal level expression and a similar decrease m the induction ratio following treatment of methyl methanesulfonate(MMS). Mutation of the sequence ($AG_4$) bound by Rphlp rendered the promoter of PHRI insensitive to changes in RPHI or RPH2 status. The data suggest that RPHI and RPH2 act as damage-responsive negative regulators of PHRI. Surprisingly, the sequence bound by Rphlp in vitro is found to be $AG_4$ which is identical to the consensus binding site for the regulators Msn2p and Msn4p involved in stress-induced expression. Deletion of MSN2 and MSN4 has little effect on the induction$.$ ratio following DNA damage. However, all deletions led to a significant decrease in basal-level and induced expression of PHRI. These results imply that MSN2 and MSN4 are positive regulators of P HRI but are not required for DNA damage repression. [Supported by grant from NIH]om NIH]
We explored whether unconscious thought affects the processing of scientific technology information concerning nuclear power. Instead of conscious deliberation of cost-benefit analysis of nuclear energy, we would like to show the effects of unconscious thought on decision making. Participants were presented with all information about nuclear power and then judged the most positive as well as the most negative items. Participants in the unconscious thought condition performed a 2-back digit memory task as distractor before they made any decision regarding the nuclear power. Those in conscious thought condition were asked to carefully evaluate all presented information while participants in the immediate decision condition made a quick decision. Based on the analysis of previous studies on this topic, we attempted to obtain the potential effects of unconscious thought by modifying materials and experimental procedures including the use of noise. Even with these new manipulations, the effect of unconscious thought on decision making was not observed in Experiment 1. In contrast, we observed a significant effect of unconscious thought on decision making when task purpose was clearly presented after participants have finished reading all information regarding nuclear power. The results of the present study indicate that if the task purpose were clearly presented, the effects of unconscious thoughts on decision making could be observed.

This study examines the effect of oral narration learning for children's forest fairy tales on self-emotional regulation and community spirit cultivation. To achieve this aim, experiments were conducted involving 40 children in S city during 16 sessions over a period of 8 weeks. Findings showed that the experimental group with oral narration learning regarding forest fairy tales was higher than the control group, confirming the usefulness of oral narration learning for forest fairy tales. In particular, the experimental group was higher than the control group in basic lifestyle, community spirit, sociality development and self-awareness of community spirit factors. In other words, children can focus their attention on fairy tales by reading, listening and directly experiencing fairy tale materials in nature as communication with nature in forest experience activities, and can collaborate with peers based on their emotional connection with nature. Their ability to practice principles and order as well as to improve relationships with peers and increase self-emotional regulation is enhanced through experience with fairy tale stories. Such results imply that the utilization of forest fairy tales needs to be enhanced, as forest fairy tale-linked activities have a positive educational effect on community spirit cultivation as well as self-emotional regulation.
Fluorine is an element that promotes dental caries preventive effect at proper concentration level, but may have significantly undesirable impact on dental caries if correct information of fluorine is not recognized. Therefore, this study is intended to evaluate fluorine awareness among the adults in their 20s and analyze oral health conditions based on such awareness in order to promote dental caries preventive effect and convey correct knowledge of fluorine. For this study, 82 adult men and 102 adult women in their 20s, all of whom lived in Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do, were surveyed from May 1, 2014 to June 30 of the same year, along with oral health examination to evaluate their oral health conditions. The results of the analysis showed that 19.46% of respondents answered "No" to the question related to awareness towards the use of fluorine in DT rate dental clinic based on the degree of fluorine awareness, which was higher than 11.10% who answered "Yes"(p<.05). Moreover, 18.32%of respondents answered "No" to the question related to whether they were checking the label indicating the fluorine content in product, which was the highest rate, suggesting that the rate was higher when there was stronger tendency to avoid reading the precaution notice (p<.05). In addition, 71.98% of respondents answered "Yes" to the question associated with the awareness to the use of fluorine in FT rate dental clinic based on the fluorine awareness, which was higher than 49.04% of respondents who answered "No" (p<.05). This study is meaningful in that it provides basic data for the implementation of fluorine prevention projects in the period ahead by determining the effect of fluorine awareness on oral health conditions. Based on aforesaid results, both educational and promotional activities need to be carried out vigorously to help raise fluorine awareness.
In this study, we are purposed to find the educational effect of practical training using a 3D printed structure-based blind box on multidimensional radiographic image interpretation. The subjects were 83 (male: 49, female: 34) 2nd year radiological science students who participated in the digital medical imaging practice that was conducted for 3 years from 2020 to 2022. The learning method used 3D printing technology to print out the inside structure of the blind box designed by itself. After taking X-rays 3 times (x, y, z axis), the structure images in the blind box were analyzed for each small group. We made the 3D structure that was self-made with clay based on our 2D radiographic images. After taking X-rays of the 3D structure, it was compared whether it matches the structural image of the blind box. The educational effect for the practical training surveyed class faithfulness, radiographic image interpretation ability (attenuation concept, contrast concept, windowing concept, 3-dimensional reading ability), class satisfaction (interest, external recommendation, immersion) on a 5-point Likert scale as an anonymous student self-writing method. As a result, all evaluation items had high positive effects without significant differences between males and females. Practical education using blind boxes is a meaningful example of radiology education technology using 3D printing technology, and it is expected to be used as content to improve students' problem-solving skills and increase satisfaction with major subjects.
