The role of knowledge as the key source of potential advantage for organizations and economies has become a hotly debated topic. Some studies found that organizations had their own knowledge management styles. Knowledge Management draws form existing resources that organizations may already have in place. Checking the organization's infrastructures for Knowledge Management is the first step for Knowledge Management. Although the as- is analysis of organizations before knowledge management is important, but there is no study on the readiness for Knowledge Management. This study reports on the development of an instrument designed to measure the readiness of an organization for knowledge Management. Starting with the literature, 4 dimensions - strategy, process, culture/people, and technology - and 18 factors were identified. Then, a questionnaire for measuring readiness was created. Finally, the instrument was pilot tested to prove its reliability and validity. Following the pilot test, the factors all demonstrated acceptable levels of reliability. The result is 19 factors instrument comprising 4 dimensions which provide a useful tool for measuring the readiness for Knowledge Management.

During the industrial plant system life cycle, required technologies are developed and assessed to analyze their performance, risks and costs. The assessment is called technology readiness assessment (TRA) and the measure of readiness is called technology readiness level (TRL). The TRL consists of 9 levels and through the TRL assessment, the technology to be developed and its components are assigned to their appropriate TRL. TRL assessment should be performed in each life cycle stages to monitor the technology readiness and analyze the potential risks and costs. However, even though the concept of TRL has been largely adopted by numerous organizations and industry, direct and clear assignment of target TRL for each life cycle stage has been overlooked. Direct mapping/assignment of target TRL for each life cycle has benefits as follow: (1) the technical risks condition of each life cycle stage can be better understood, (2) cost incurred if the technology development is failed can be analyzed in each life cycle stage, and (3) more effective decision making because the technology readiness achievement for each life cycle stages is agreed beforehand. In this paper, we propose a steel-making plant system life cycle and TRL assignment to each of the system life cycle stage. By directly assigning target TRL for each life cycle stages, we look forward to a more coordinated (in terms of exit criteria) and highly effective (in terms of technical risks identification and eventually prevent project failure) technology development and assessment processes.

The research purpose of this paper is to empirically examine the effects of technological readiness and innovation on logistics performance. To build up and maintain an important role in global supply chains, nowadays it is obvious that countries and logistics providers need to achieve competitive advantage in terms of digitalization. However, there is a lack of empirical studies about the impacts of information technologies and innovation potential on the logistics efficiency of countries. Hence, the study analyzes whether the corresponding pillars of the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) matter for the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and its dimensions. For determining the effects, the pooled regression approach is applied. The results show that technological readiness and innovation are positively and statistically significantly correlated with logistics performance: competence and quality of logistics services, efficiency of customs clearance processes, ability to track and trace consignments, frequency with which shipments reach consignee within scheduled or expected time, and ease of arranging competitively priced shipments. The findings of this study suggest that investments in innovations and technology progress improve countries' logistics efficiency, which is an important prerequisite for enabling Logistics 4.0 and thus, Industry 4.0 and the digital transformation of the economy and society.

This study is to analyze the relationship among potential variables of self-development, social development, learning readiness, and academic ability using data from the Panel Study on Korean Children, which was surveyed in 2014, and to find factors affecting the academic ability of preschool children will be. The subjects of this study were 6-year-old children of 1113 households among 2150 households in the 7th Panel Study on Korean Children(2014) data, excluding non-responders and system-missing 1037 households. As a result of analyzing the path effect of the research model, it was found that, between self-development and academic skills, self-development had a direct effect on academic skills and also had a significant indirect effect through social development and learning readiness as a medium. In addition, it was found that learning readiness had the greatest influence among self-development, social development, and learning readiness on academic skills. As a result, the academic skills of preschool-age children should be treated with great importance in order to develop them into talents with creativity and problem-solving ability.

In this paper, the RTA-ERP(Response Time Aligned-Evoked Relative Potential) was modelled to analyze the effect of motor activation pattern in response to visual sensory stimuli. Simon effect was analysed using the amplitude response of RTA-ERP and measured response time. The 'odd number' experiments, which identify an odd number mixed with same numbers, was performed with 15 healthy adult participants(9 males and 6 females, whose mean age of 31) for 7 minutes for each participant. Throughout experimentation, we observed that the proposed RTA-ERP can compensate the timing variation due to different neural processing procedures in the brain, and shows enhanced LRP(Lateralized Readiness Potential) and Pe(Error Related Positivity). Regarding to 'congruence' and 'incongruence' testing patterns, the amplitude of RTA-ERP and the response time for the 'congruence' are $0.03{\mu}V$ larger, and 43 ms faster than those for the 'incongruence', respectively. The amplitude characteristics of RTA-ERP, obtained by synchronizing the onset times with respect to response time, corresponds more likely to that of P300 in the ERP pattern (the characteristics of the Simon effect).

In this paper, a method of estimating hand and elbow movements using electrocorticogram (ECoG) signals is proposed. Using multiple channels, surface electromyogram (EMG) signals and ECoG signals were obtained from patients simultaneously. The estimated movements were those to close and then open the hand and those to bend the elbow inward. The patients were encouraged to perform the movements in accordance with their free will instead of after being induced by external stimuli. Surface EMG signals were used to find movement time points, and ECoG signals were used to estimate the movements. To extract the characteristics of the individual movements, the ECoG signals were divided into a total of six bands (the entire band and the ${\delta}$, ${\Theta}$, ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, and ${\gamma}$ bands) to obtain the information entropy, and the maximum likelihood estimation method was used to estimate the movements. The results of the experiment showed the performance averaged 74% when the ECoG of the gamma band was used, which was higher than that when other bands were used, and higher estimation success rates were shown in the gamma band than in other bands. The time of the movements was divided into three time sections based on movement time points, and the "before" section, which included the readiness potential, was compared with the "onset" section. In the "before" section and the "onset" section, estimation success rates were 66% and 65%, respectively, and thus it was determined that the readiness potential could be used.
Decarbonization and energy transition can be considered as a main concern even for the oil industry. One of the initiatives to reduce emissions under studies considers the use of renewable energy as a complimentary supply of electric energy of the production platforms. Wind energy has a higher TRL (Technology Readiness Level) than other types of energy converters and has been considered in these studies. However, other types of renewable energy have potential to be used and hybrid concepts considering wind platforms can help to push the technological development of other types of energy converters and improve their efficiency. In this article, a preliminary hydrodynamic assessment of a new concept of hybrid wind and wave energy conversion platform was performed, in order to evaluate the potential of wave power extraction. A multiple OWCs (Oscillating Water Column) WEC (Wave Energy Converter) design was adopted for the analysis and some simplifications were adopted to permit using a frequency domain approach to evaluate the mean wave power estimation for the location. Other strategies were used in the OWC design to create resonance in the sea energy range to try to maximize the potential power to be extracted, with good results.
Objectives: This paper describes the concept, principles, and strategies and directions for community participation in health promotion. Methods: Descriptions of and discussions on community participation in this paper are based on the results of selected peer-reviewed research articles, white papers, and practice manuals which address the issues of community participation and community empowerment, and principles and strategies for practice in community health promotion. Results: In ladder-of-community-participation models, the level of participation ranges from non-participation to the stages where communities have partnerships, delegated power, and control. Enhancement of participation is presented as a continuum of informing - consulting - involving - collaborating - empowering. For community participation to reach its fullest potential, the types and levels of participation desired should be clearly decided at the beginning. Along with community readiness for participation, public health system should also be in place readily to process community participation for health promotion with appropriate procedures, guidelines, methods, resources, and stakeholders' commitment and support. Conclusions: For the promotion of participation in community health, readiness for participation of both community and public health system should be prepared.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the future potential value of CTE(Critical Technology Element)s that are evaluated to be low in TRA(Technology Readiness Assesment) and to present investment prioritization technologies in defense R&D(Research and Development) based on them. To do this, we used the DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) method, which is useful in evaluating the efficiency of the organization. Specifically, we suggest a systematic framework to evaluate the future value of CTEs by setting the CTEs derived from the TRA process to DMU(Decision Making Unit)s, the cost and time required to develop each CTE as the input factor of the DEA and the effects of the development of each CTE as the output factor of the DEA respectively. We also conducted an illustrative case study on radar technologies to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed approach.

The article considers the fundamentalization of education in improving the future specialists professional training with usage of multimedia technologies by various scientists. Various points of view and approaches to defining the concepts of fundamentalization of education and multimedia technologies are identified. The concept of fundamentalization of professional training of a future specialist is based on the goals and functions of fundamentalization and - on the ways and means of achieving it, etc. Most authors agree only in their views that the fundamentalization of education is aimed at improving the quality of education and the education of the individual. Others involve the formation of a culture and worldview, increasing the creative and intellectual potential, forming the professional competence of a specialist and the potential for further education, and so on. The term multimedia refers to interactive systems that provide processing of moving and still video images, animated graphics, high-quality audio and speech. It is found out that professional training of a specialist by means of multimedia technologies includes not only the activities of the teacher and student, which form the learning process, but also the independent activity of the subject, self-development, assimilation of experience by the subject through analysis, comprehension and transformation of the field of activity in which he is included. It is revealed through the implementation of which approaches to the fundamentalization of higher professional education, it becomes possible to fully present theoretical training courses and effectively pass practical training by students, which contributes to improving the quality of training of future specialists in higher education institutions. Theoretical analysis of scientific views indicates a fairly serious attention of scientists to the problem of professional readiness of specialists and the possibility of higher educational institutions in preparing for it. At the same time, professional readiness is considered from different positions: as an active state of a person, which manifests itself in activity; as a result of activity; as goals of activity; as a quality that characterizes the attitude to solving professional problems and social situations; as a prerequisite for purposeful activity; as a form of activity of the subject; as an integral formation of personality; as a component of socio-professional culture; as a complex professionally significant neoplasm of the individual.
