Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is defined as the interaction phenomena of electromagnetic waves scattered from a large structure or complex terrain. In this study, the propagation of linear wave is modeled with ray theory, direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC), and some classical theories on flat plates. The wave physics of reflection, refraction, and diffraction are simulated for the investigation of front and back scattering of the one-dimensional plane wave from a tower with ray theory and DSMC, respectively. The effect of rotating disk idealized from the real wind-turbine blades is modeled with a simplified version of the classical electromagnetic theory as well as DSMC based on the ray theory.

The imploded open $\pi$-rays comprise of the space and their diameters are distributed from nearly zero to infinite. The change of the potential energy in the open $\pi$-ray produces an attraction force between them and it is sensible to the geometric shape factor and its frequency. The equivalent principle of general relativity means that in the wave equation its velocity of the force wave is infinite. The change of the state in a open $\pi$-ray(or any force wave) can be transferred to any sensible open $\pi$-ray via space at a finite velocity. Many properties of the light wave can be deduce from the motions of open $\pi$-rays.The nonsteady and steady Schr dinger equations include the dynamics of open $\pi$-rays and closed $\pi$-rays.$\prod$-ray is a tool of entity for constructing physics and metaphysics at the same time.

Purpose: A cross-calibration equation is needed to compare bone mineral density measured by different dual X-ray absoptiometry systems. We performed this study to establish appropriate cross-calibration equations between two different dual X-ray absorptiometry systems. Materials and Methods: Bone mineral density of anterior-posterior lumbar spine (L2-4 level) and femoral neck were measured in 109 women ($55{\pm}11yr$) using two different dual X-ray absorptiometry systems (Lunar EXPERT-XL and Hologic QDR 4500-A). Bone mineral density values measured by two systems, including area, bone mass content, bone mineral density and percentile of young normals were compared and cross-calibration equations between two systems derived. Results: The bone mineral density values of 109 women measured by Lunar system were $0.958{\pm}0.17g/cm^2$ at L2-4 and $0.768{\pm}0.131g/cm^2$ at femur neck, which were significantly higher ($13{\pm}6%$ at L2-4 and $19{\pm}7%$ at femur neck, p<0.001) than those ($0.851{\pm}0.144 g/cm^2$ at L2-4 and $0.649{\pm}0.108 g/cm^2$ at femur neck) by Hologic system. Bone mineral content and percentile of young normals measured by Lunar system were also significantly higher than those by Hologic system (p<0.001), whereas there was no difference in area (p>0.05). There was a high correlation between bone mineral density values of L2-4 and femoral neck obtained with both dual X-ray absortiometry systems (r=0.96 and 0.95, respectively). Cross-calibration equations relating the bone mineral density were Lunar= 1.1287${\times}$Hologic -0.0027 for L2-4 and Lunar= 1.1556${\times}$Hologic+0.0182 for femoral neck. Conclusion: We obtained cross-calibration equations of bone mineral density between Lunar EXPERT-XL and Hologic QDR 4500-A. These equations can be useful in comparing bone mineral density obtained by different dual X-ray absorptiometry systems.

A discontinuous Galerkin method with interior penalty terms is presented for linear Sobolev equation. On appropriate finite element spaces, we apply a symmetric interior penalty Galerkin method to formulate semidiscrete approximate solutions. To deal with a damping term $\nabla{\cdot}({\nabla}u_t)$ included in Sobolev equations, which is the distinct character compared to parabolic differential equations, we choose special test functions. A priori error estimate for the semidiscrete time scheme is analyzed and an optimal $L^\infty(L^2)$ error estimation is derived.
Single phase, narrow beam X-ray attenuation data were obtained using various construction materials concrete, white block, red block, 3 hole block, gypsum board, artificial marble, cement, plate glass, wood, and lead. Tube voltages of 60, 80, 100, 120 kVp were employed and the resulting curves were compared to transmission data found in this report. The shielding methodology and the derivation of equations used for determination of barrier requirements were presented in NCRP 49. We could calculate the X-ray exposed dose after attenuation and thickness of protection barrier in the clinic facilities accordingly. For the purpose of maximizing the benefit/cost ratio to diagnostic shielding, various construction materials must be installed carefully and attnuation rate considered thoroughly.
We have calculated the cosmic ray(CR) acceleration at young remnants from Type Ia supernovae expanding into a uniform interstellar medium(ISM). Adopting quasi-parallel magnetic fields, gasdynamic equations and the diffusion convection equation for the particle distribution function are solved in a comoving spherical grid which expands with the shock. Bohm-type diffusion due to self-excited $Alfv\acute{e}n$ waves, drift and dissipation of these waves in the precursor and thermal leakage injection were included. With magnetic fields amplified by the CR streaming instability, the particle energy can reach up to $10^{16}Z$ eV at young supernova remnants(SNRs) of several thousand years old. The fraction of the explosion energy transferred to the CR component asymptotes to 40-50 % by that time. For a typical SNR in a warm ISM, the accelerated CR energy spectrum should exhibit a concave curvature with the power-law slope flattening from 2 to 1.6 at $E{\gtrsim}0.1$ TeV.

To non-destructively determine the burnup of a spent nuclear fuel assembly, it is essential to analyze the nuclear isotopes present in the assembly and detect the neutrons and gamma rays emitted from these isotopes. Specifically, gamma-ray measurement methods can utilize a single radiation measurement value of 137Cs or measure based on the energy peak ratio of Cs isotopes such as 134Cs/137Cs and 154Eu/137Cs. In this study, we validated the extent to which the results of gamma-ray measurements using cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) sensors based on 137Cs could be accurately simulated by implementing identical conditions on MCNP. To simulate measurement scenarios using a lead collimator, we propose equations that represent radiation behavior that reaches the detector by assuming "Direct hit" and "Penetration with attenuation" situations. The results obtained from MCNP confirmed an increase in measurement efficiency by 0.47 times when using the CZT detector, demonstrating the efficacy of the measurement system.
We theoretically derive the set of utilizable paraxial zoom locus equations for all complicated zoom lens systems with infinite object distance, such as a camera zoom lens, by using the Gaussian bracket method and the matrix representation of paraxial ray tracing. And we make the zoom locus program according to these equations in Visual Basic. Since we have applied the paraxial ray tracing equations into Gaussian bracket representation, the resultant program systematically simplifies various constraints of the zoom loci of various N group types. Consequently, the solutions of this method can be consistently used in all types of zoom lens in the step of initial design about zoom loci. Finally, in order to verify the usefulness of this method, we show that one example among 4 groups and that among 5 groups, which are very complex zoom lens systems, can be rapidly and with versatility traced through various interpolations by using this program.
This study was performed to develop thin layer drying equations fur short grain rough rice using far-infrared ray. Thin layer drying tests was conducted at four far-infrared ray temperature levels of 30, 40, 50, 60$^{\circ}C$ and two initial moisture content levels of 20.7, 26.2%(w.b.). The measured moisture ratios were fitted to Lewis and Page drying models by stepwise multiple regression analysis. Half response time of drying was affected by both drying temperature and initial moisture content at drying temperature of below 40$^{\circ}C$, but at above 40$^{\circ}C$ was mainly affected by drying temperature. Experimental constant(k) in Lewis model was a function of drying temperature, but K and N in Page model were function of drying temperature and initial moisture content. Moisture ratios predicted by two drying models agreed well with experimental values. But in the actual range of drying temperature above 30$^{\circ}C$ Page model was more suitable for predicting of drying rates.
Three-dimensional transient keyhole profile is numerically analyzed for the case of stationary laser keyhole welding. Volume of fluid (VOF) method is adopted to track the free surface of molten metal based on the three governing equations which are continuity, momentum and energy equations. Multiple reflections of laser beam at the keyhole walls are also included in analysis through a real-time ray tracing technique. In this simulation, especially, polarization of laser is considered as an energy absorption mechanism following the Fresnel reflection theory. Both cases of linearly and circularly polarized beam are simulated and compared. The results show that the theoretically generated keyhole is asymmetrically stretched along the direction of polarization which is already observed experimentally before.
