이종 철도신호시스템을 위한 기존 자동열차정지 연동로직의 보완 (Complement of the Interlocking Logic of ATS for Heterogenous Railway Signaling Systems)

  • 철도 신호시스템은 철도의 건설 운영 경험을 토대로 안전성 및 유지보수성을 극대화할 수 있도록 발전해 왔다. 전기적으로 궤도를 일정구간별로 구분하여 제어하는 폐색기반의 차량간격 제어를 통해 시스템의 안정적인 운영을 도모함과 동시에 효율적인 운영을 위한 시스템의 모니터링 강화가 지속적으로 이루어 졌다. 운영환경의 변화에 맞게, 기존의 ATS(Automatic Train Stop) 시스템과 새로운 ATP/ATO(Automatic Train Protection/Automatic Train Operation) 시스템이 병행으로 운영 중에 있다. 신호시스템을 병행 운영함에 있어서, 기존 ATS시스템은 잦은 신호설비의 개량으로 인해 연동도표 및 로직의 조건에 대한 보완이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이종 신호시스템 중 기존 ATS시스템의 연동조건 및 보안개선을 통해 시스템 안전성 및 운영 효율성을 도모하였다. 신호기 ON/OFF으로 반대선 신호에 영향을 주지 않도록 신호현시의 점유조건이 추가되었으며, 위치 및 쇄정에 대한 추가적 변경으로 보안성을 향상시켰다. 또한 불필요한 조건을 삭제하고 세분화된 신호현시를 생성하여 열차의 접근성을 향상시켜 운영 효율성을 향상시켰으며, 한층 강화된 시스템으로 운영할 수 있도록 개선하였다. 이와 같은 활동을 통행 기존 ATS시스템의 잦은 신호설비의 개량으로 인한 연동도표 표기와 관련한 보완사항을 개선하였으며, 열차의 안전운행과 밀접한 보안도 향상측면에 있어서의 뚜렷한 효과를 얻었다.

  • The railway signaling system consists of microcomputerized vital devices on board and ground, which are connected to one another by track circuits, and interlocking equipment for route control, The software plays a major role in these microcomputer-based vital systems. Therefore it is important to design the software and validate the required levels of safety and reliability To verify the conditions and functions of signaling logic, the laboratory prototype test bench, which consists of personal computers, VME system and Ethernet LAN, will be developed. In this paper general design of signaling system test bench for high-speed rail is described and some developed subprogram is presented.

  • The portion of embedded software in railway signaling system is increased by the advance of computer and communication technology. And the safely requirements for railway system are standardized by int'l std., such as IEC 62278 and IEC 62279. According to these circumstances for software safety problems, we are deduced the testing items for software safety test and assessment for railway signaling. Testing tools used for embedded software are surveyed to find a feasible safety assessment architecture. And the architecture of automatic test tool is proposed to test the deduced safely testing items in this paper.

Z와 Statechart에 의한 열차제어시스템 바일탈 소프트웨어 개발 방법 분석 (Applying Methodology for the Safety-Critical S/W Development of Railway Signaling with the Z and Statechart Formal Method)

  • Recently, many critical control systems are developed using formal methods. When software applied to such systems is developed, the employment of formal methods in the software requirements specification and verification will provide increased. assurance for such applications. Earlier error of overlooked requirement specification can be detected using formal specification method. Also the testing and full verification to examine all reachable states using model checking to undertake formal verification are able to be completed. In this paper, we propose an eclectic approach to incorporate Z(Zed) formal language and 'Statemate MAGNUM' which is formal method tools using Statechart for applying to the railway signaling systems.

호남고속철도 전차선로의 이상 상태 분석 (Analysis for Catenary System with Focus on Abnomal Conditions on Honam High Speed Line)

  • The overhead contact line (OCL) is a key piece of equipment for transmitting electrical energy to the pantograph of rail cars. Recently, a 400 km/h OCL was applied to the Honam high-speed line, and its performance was examined by running HEMU-430X. For the study, we analyzed the current of catenary wire concurrently while running HEMU-430X in the Honam high-speed line. Specifically, this study recorded the currents for each speed during operation of the railway vehicle. The analysis of the frequency of line current showed generation of third-harmonics, 15th-harmonics, 17th-harmonics, and 19th-harmonics. The current of catenary wire is a basic technology assessment used to determine the electrical safety of electric railway systems, and it can be used as a technology for analyzing circulating currents generated in the current configuration, as well as for analyzing electric fatigue of the OCL components.

철도 고속화에 따른 단계별 신호시스템 구축방안 연구 (A Study on Establishment of Signaling Systems to Speed up Conventional Railway)

  • Studies suggested an increase in the competitiveness and roles of mainline railways like speed and accessibility improvement, as a fundamental direction of the National Transport Network Plan. At this point, topics presented especially for strengthening the role of human and environment centered transportation: as to the greatly improved speed competitiveness, there are an operational speed above 180km/h ~ 200km/h and traveling within 2 ~ 3 hours among big cities. As to accessibility improvement, there are accessibility to main railway stations within 30 minutes, and the improvement of accessibility, safety, eco-friendliness, amenity etc. As a part of these suggestions, field specific plans were proposed for the establishment of expressed mainline railway network in Korea such as train's, civil structures, trolley lines etc. In this paper we analyzed the conventional lines and systems to figure out whether to change details in terms of H/W of signaling system. Additionally, we reviewed the compatibility or difference of signalling system depending on train's speed. With this result, we deduced the number of virtual blocks specific to the speed of 180km/h, 200km/h and 230km/h, which were showed for the speed improvement considering each variable like blocks, braking distance etc. In this way, we suggested the railway signal system establishment plan considering safety operation.

전자연동장치를 위한 연동검사시스템의 개발 (Development of Interlocking Inspection Simulator for Electronic Interlocking System)

  • The purpose of interlocking system in railway is to prevent the route for a train being set up and its protecting signal cleared if there were already another, conflicting route set up and the protecting signal for that route cleared. Recently, conventional relays circuitry in industrial field is replaced to computer-based control systems according to the advance of computer and communication technology. Therefore, interlocking systems in railway field are rapidly changing from existing relay-based interlocking system to computer-based electronic ones that executes the vital interlocking logic to assure the safety train routes at trackside signaling equipment room using electronic circuits. So it is very important to verify the performance of developed electronic interlocking system by plentiful laboratory testing before actually application in the railway system. However the laboratory testing in the present state of railway signaling is preformed individually by manual, so very much test time and cost are required. To solve these problems, we are developed the simulator for automatic interlocking inspection in this research. This simulator is able to operate on general personal computer and has following beneficial functions : automatic test sheet generation for inspection, automatic inspection execution and et al. The experiments are executed to test the feasibility of the developed simulator the experimental results have good agreements with the anticipated ones.

차상통합신호시스템에서 k out of n 시스템 적용에 대한 신뢰도 및 손실비용 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Reliability and Loss Cost by Appling k out of n System in Combined On-board Signaling System)

  • 열차제어시스템에는 자동열차제어, 자동열차방호, 자동열차정지, 자동열차운행 시스템 등이 있다. 다양한 열차제어시스템은 노선에 따라 다르게 설치되어 있으므로 열차노선에 맞는 차상신호시스템이 설치되어야 한다. 이로 인해 열차의 운행 유연성은 떨어진다. 즉, 다른 열차제어시스템을 사용하는 노선에 열차를 운행할 경우에는 차상신호시스템을 다시 설치해야 하는 문제가 있다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 최근에 차상통합신호시스템을 개발하는 연구가 진행 중에 있다. 차상통합신호시스템은 자동열차제어, 자동열차방호, 자동열차정지장치로 구성되어 있다. 열차제어시스템은 안전성이 필수적인 시스템으로써 차상통합신호시스템을 k out of n시스템으로 설계할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 차상통합신호시스템에서 k out of n시스템을 적용하였을 경우, 각 장치별 고장률을 이용하여 신뢰도 및 손실비용을 분석하여 전체 출력 수에 대한 이상적인 시스템 수를 제시하였다.

기술발전 추이에 따른 열차제어장치의 개발방향 (A Study on the development strategy for TCS in technology context)

  • Signaling system, for which ensuring safe train operation, must be a fail-safe system with higher reliability and safety. TCS has made significant improvements both on signaling system, from relay based ground signaling system to computer based on-board system, and on driving mode, form low speed and low density driving to TCS supporting high speed and high density driving. In addition, TCS has been applied to rolling stock with a wide variety of context according to the characteristics of rolling stock or railway infrastructure. In this paper, therefore, we confirmed the basic concept of ATC system and analyzed its development process in technology context via referencing international cases and ATC systems introduced and applied in Korea. Based on those analyses, we suggested the new TCS development strategy for its suitable application to high speed line, conventional line and metro, and we also provided technical considerations related to TCS application.

  • The railway signalling system plays an essential role in the headway and routing control for a safe and efficient train operation. The reliable and safe operation of the system is very important because the failure of the railway signalling system can lead to the collision, derailment, or unexpected stop of a train. So far, the conventional wayside signal mode (ATS: Automatic Train Stop) has been generally used as the railway signalling system. However, this system is highly linked to a risk of major accidents resulted from human mistakes such as missing a signal or careless control of train speed. Accordingly, the onboard signal mode (ATC: Automatic Train Control) as an alternative of ATS has been recently introduced and applied to transmit effectively the information on speed control of a train by using computers and communication equipment. In the process of replacing the obsolete signal system, it is necessary to switch over the system while providing passengers with normal services. Therefore, the integration of a railway signaling system compatible for both ATS and ATC and its interface is discussed in this study. In particular, the implementation scenario required for operation planning of the integrated system was designed, and the results as well as effects of its applicability test were also presented.
