  • Using (r, s)-preopen sets [14] and pre-${\omega}_t$-closures [6], a new kind of covering property $P^t_{({\omega}_r,s)}$-closedness is introduced in a bitopological space and several characterizations via filter bases, nets and grills [30] along with various properties of such concept are investigated. Two new types of cluster sets, namely pre-(${\omega}_r$, s)t-${\theta}_f$-cluster sets and (r, s)t-${\theta}_f$-precluster sets of functions and multifunctions between two bitopological spaces are introduced. Several properties of pre-(${\omega}_r$, s)t-${\theta}_f$-cluster sets are investigated and using the degeneracy of such cluster sets, some new characterizations of some separation axioms in topological spaces or in bitopological spaces are obtained. A sufficient condition for $P^t_{({\omega}_r,s)}$-closedness has also been established in terms of pre-(${\omega}_r$, s)t-${\theta}_f$-cluster sets.

  • Reducing the effluent discharge from a paper mill is urgently needed due to tightening environmental regulations and economic reasons. For a paper mill to respond to system closure it is required to adopt the best practical retention system that enables the mill to improve fines retention and drainage. In this study, effects of various retention agents on fines retention, drainage and formation were examined using linerboard stock in the laboratory. Among the retention aids tested, high molecular weight cationic polyacrylamides showed good efficiency both in retention and drainage. On the other hand, high charge density, low molecular weight polymeric retention aids showed little improvement both in retention and drainage. The best retention system selected from the laboratory experiment was applied on a paper machine producing linerboard to evaluate its effect on papermaking system closure.

  • The fatigue crack growth and crack closure behavior of long through-thickness cracks and small half-penny shaped surface cracks were investigated in 5083-H113 Aluminum alloy under constant amplitude testing by the unloading elastic compliance method. It was found that, in the Region II, the crack growth behavior of both through-thickness and surface cracks exhibited the tri-linear form with two transitions and no concern with stress ratio R. In the Region I $I_{ab}$ and I $I_{b}$, through-thickness cracks grew faster than surface cracks in length direction, but at .DELTA. K .leq.4 MPa.root.m for R=0.1 the growth rates of surface cracks in depth direction, grew faster than those of through-thickness cracks. When the crack closure was considered, the growth rates of through-thickness cracks lay between the growth rates of depth direction and the growth rates of length direction in surface cracks. It is suspected that this was caused by the difference of crack closure at depth and length direction of surface cracks.s.

  • In this article, we investigate several aspects of (R, S)-hyper bi-modules and describe some their properties. The concepts of fundamental relation, completes part and complete closure are studied regarding to (R, S)-hyper bi-modules. In particular, we show that any complete (R, S)-hyper bi-module has at least an identity and any element has an inverse. Finally, we obtain a few results related to the heart of (R, S)-hyper bi-modules.

  • In this paper we will show that the pure subring R of F-rational ring S is F-rational when R is a one-dimensional ring, or S is a Gorenstein ring. And we will give a condition that a pure subring of an F-rational ring is to be F-rational.

  • Korean stop consonants are well known for their tripple distinction. In word initial position lax, tense and aspirated consonants are all voiceless. They are differentiated by the degree of tension, aspiration and VOT(voice onset time). But in intervocalic position, lax consonants become voiced. In this study I compare the acoustic features of Korean intervocalic lax and tense stops. The closure duration of lax stops is shorter than that of tense consonants. The preceding vowel length is longer in tan than that in tense consonants. I modify the above acoustic characteristics by an experimental methods. For example, I shorten the closure duration of intervocalic tense stops by 5 steps. r also do auditory tests which will show us listener's reaction on the above examples. And do the same job with the preceding vowels. According to the auditory test, the closure duration does an important role in differentiating Korean intervocalic lax and tense stops. But the preceding vowel length has almost nothing to do with the distinction between lax and tense stops. So I conclude that acoustic features also have hierarchy. Some features have categorical characteristics and others don't.

  • The fatigue crack growth behavior of physically-short cracks(0.2${\Delta}K$ with $da/dN<1{\times}10^{-7}m/cycle$. The transition crack lengths where similtude with ${\Delta}K$ existed was between 1 and 2mm. The effective stress intensity factor range based on COD measurements gave better correlation between the physically-short and long cracks. Thus it can be considered that the crack closure effect is one of the main factors which causes the differences between these two cracks.

  • In the forging operation of large ingot two break-down process are upsetting and cogging. The first purpose of upsetting is to ensure sufficient forging ratio for subsequent cogging operations and consolidate the voids along the centerline. The second purpose is related to improve the physical properties for a final product. Voids which are generated during the casting process can be one of the decisive defects of materials. So it is necessary to know the standard of Judgment for void-closure in upsetting operation. In practical conditions, FEM analysis(DEFORM 2D 8.1) was carried out to decide how much effective strain has influence on void-closure. It is finally suggested that the function consists of the effective strain of analysis data and the area rate of void.
