The stable occlusion in function is thought as important as the esthetics in form, in order to preserve the healthy oral condition. The stable occlusion requires the harmony between the condylar guidance factors and the anterior guidance factors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quantitative relationship between the condylar guidance factors and the anterior guidance factors, estimating statistically the measurement of the condylar paths by Pantronic and those of the anterior guidance factors, craniofacial morphology by roentgenocephalometry in 46 relatively good functional occlusion. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The measurements of the protrusive condylar path inclinations were $36.41^{\circ}$ in the right, $35.63^{\circ}$ in the left, $36.28^{\circ}$ in the mean. The measurements of Fisher's angles were $8.17^{\circ}$ in the right, $6.43^{\circ}$ in the left, $6.87^{\circ}$ in the mean. 2. The anterior facial height and the lower anterior facial height made a negative correlation with the protrusive condylar path inclination. 3. The articular eminence angle relative to the artificial articulator plane showed a positive correlation with the maximum protrusive condylar path. 4. SNA and SNB made a negative correlation with the articular eminence angle, and AAP-GoMe, AAP-DcGn, the facial height ratio had a positive correlation with the articular eminence angle. 5. The angulation of maxillary incisor lingual slope, overbite and the ratio of overbite to overiet showed a positive correlation with the articular eminence angle. 6. The angulation of maxillary incisor lingual slope , overbite, and the ratio of overbite to overjet made a positive correlation with the inclination of occlusal plane, functional occlusal plane. 7. Overbite and the ratio of overbite to overjet had a positive correlation with the angulation of maxillary incisor lingual slope. 8. The anterior guidance factors were more influenced by the mean protrusive condylar path inclination and the maximum Fisher's angle, and the regression equations of those were made.

Purpose : Gated myocardial perfusion SPECT provides not only myocardial perfusion status, but various functional parameters of left ventricle (LV). The purpose of this study was to analyze ejection fraction (EF) for correlation and difference between $^{201}Tl$ gated myocardial perfusion SPECT and echocardiography depending on extent of perfusion defect, gender and LV volumes. Materials and Methods : From April 2011 to May 2012, we analyzed 291 patients (male:female =165:126; mean: $64.6{\pm}10.8$ years) who were examined both $^{201}Tl$ gated myocardial perfusion SPECT and echocardiography at less than 7 days apart in our hospital. 101 patients showed perfusion defect and the rest of the people without any defect. We applied automatic analysis (Quantitative gated SPECT, QGS), and calculated EF, End-diastolic volume (EDV) and End-systolic volume (ESV) from Stress (G-Stress) and Rest (G-Rest) studies. And we analyzed the correlation and difference for EF between $^{201}Tl$ gated SPECT and echocardiography. Results : The correlation of LVEF among G-Stress, G-Rest and echocardiography was quite a good (G-Stress vs. G-Rest: r=0.909, G-Stress vs. echocardiography: r=0.833, G-Rest vs. echocardiography: r=0.825). And there were significant differences in EDV, ESV and EF in total patients (p<0.01). The normal group showed significant difference in EF (p<0.01) and the group with perfusion defect also demonstrated significant difference (a group with reversible defect: p<0.01, fixed defect: p<0.01) depending on extent of perfusion defect. We analyzed difference in normal group by gender. In normal group, there was no significant difference (p>0.05) in EF from men. However, there was a significant difference (p<0.01) from women. When we classified two groups by average size of EDV in Korean women, there was no significant difference in a group of above average size of EDV (p>0.05). Conclusion : When compared among Stress and Rest of $^{201}Tl$ gated SPECT and echocardiography, we confirmed that there was a good correlation for LVEF. But there were significant differences among three studies. And extent of perfusion defect, gender and LV volumes are independent determinants of the accuracy of LVEF. So, it is hard to compare and interchange quantitative indices among modalities. We should take additional researches to prove results of our study.

The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of a 3 tone plaque disclosing gel in assessing the risk of caries related to the population of Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sobrinus, and Lactobacillus spp. quantified using a quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). 15 healthy children of ages 9 - 12 years were randomly examined. The 3 tone plaque disclosing gel was applied on teeth surfaces, which changed the color to pink or red, blue or purple and light blue. Plaque was divided into 3 groups based on staining. Genomic DNA from each sample was subjected to a qRT-PCR assay for quantitative detection of target bacteria. The Kruskal-Wallis test was conducted for correlation between the color of plaque and the number of bacterial species. The levels of S. mutans, S. sobrinus, and Lactobacillus spp. were significantly different in the plaque samples of the 3 groups (p < 0.05). The proportion of S. sobrinus to S. mutans showed correlation to the color of plaque. The different color-dyed plaque was related to the number of acidogenic bacteria. The 3 tone plaque disclosing gel could be used as one of the indicators to assess the clinical risk of caries associated with the population of S. mutans, S. sobrinus, and Lactobacillus spp.

This study was conducted to develop a simple flood frequency questionnaire (FFQ) based on the results of contributions of specific floods to absolute intake and between-person variance in nutrients using semi-quantitative FFQ with 93 flood items. The subjects were 554 healthy adults for development of a simple FFQ, and 37 students for a validation test of a developed simple FFQ. The contribution of specific floods to 80% absolute nutrient intake was measured by assessing their percentage in total consumption of a nutrient. To assess the contributions of floods to the between-person variance in the intake of each specific nutrient, stepwise multiple regressions were performed. The number of floods necessary to account for the respective 80% of absolute intake was 11-36, depending on the nutrient, while flower floods (5-16 floods) were required for the corresponding percentage of between-person variation for all nutrients. Important floods for between-person variance include Tangsuyuk (pork) and snacks for energy and fat, fish for protein and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and snacks for carbohydrates. Spearman correlation coefficients between 93-itemed FFQ and 63-itemed FFQ ranged from 0.91 for vitamin A to 0.99 for fat in the population data used in developing a simple FFQ. Also, the correlation coefficients between the two FFQs were 0.82-7.92 in the population for the validation test. This study suggests that useful information on dietary intake could be obtained using a simple semi-quantitative FFQ in a large-scale dietary survey in Korea.
As the Internet and mobile services increase, the use of wired/wireless web contents services increase and the demand for various contents explosively grows. To survive in competitive market, and to minimize the errors and warnings for web accessibility and standardization, and then to maximize the web usability, the periodical evaluation for web site should be performed with the events of web marketing and campaign. Through the web evaluation, the errors for technical programming language and contents offering can be found and diagnosed. In this paper, the quantitative and qualitative evaluation method for web site providing web contents are presented, and the analytic results for the 138 home pages in domestic are evaluated to validate the quantitative methodology. The accessibility, standardization, and usability factor are adopted for the evaluation in which accessibility is evaluated for perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust discipline with K-WAH(Korea-Web Accessibility Helper) tool, the standardization are measured for the number of errors and warnings in technical language with the W3C validator, and finally the usability factor is analyzed for the number of visits, average visit duration, and bounce rate with Google Analytics. In addition to, the quantitative analysis is also performed with the consideration of cost for construction and operation of web site. From the results, in the case of total score of 100 in conversion with relative weight, the average and standard deviation are evaluated to be 55 and 14, respectively. The correlation analysis indicates that the coefficient is estimated as 0.058, and then correlation between the quantitative results and cost is evaluated to be a little positive.
The virtual reality industry has an opportunity to take another leap forward with the surge in demand for non-face-to-face content and interest in the metaverse after Covid-19. Therefore, in order to popularize virtual reality content along with this trend, high-quality content production and storytelling research suitable for the characteristics of virtual reality should be continuously conducted. In order for content to which virtual reality characteristics are applied to be effectively produced through user feedback, a quantitative index that can evaluate the content is needed. In this study, the process of viewing virtual reality contents was analyzed and head movement was set as a quantitative indicator. Afterwards, the experimenter watched five animations and analyzed the correlation between recorded head movement information and immersion. As a result of the analysis, high immersion was shown when the head movement speed was relatively slow, and it was found that the head movement speed can be used significantly as an index indicating the degree of content immersion. The result derived in this way can be used as a quantitative indicator that can verify the validity of the storytelling method applied after the prototype is produced when the creator creates virtual reality content. This method can improve the quality of content by quickly identifying the problems of the proposed storytelling method and suggesting a better method. This study aims to contribute to the production of high-quality virtual reality content and the popularization of virtual reality content as a basic research to analyze immersion based on the quantitative indicator of head movement speed.
This study investigates the association of the AFB stain with the cycle threshold (Ct) value of the Cobas TaqMan MTB test (CTM test, Roche Diagnostics, Basel, Switzerland), and it establishes the base data for semi-quantitative identification of M. tuberculosis by the Ct value. CTM test were simultaneously conducted on 8,389 specimens submitted to the Samsung Medical Center from January 2015 to December 2015, and the results were analyzed and compared retrospectively investigates the association of the AFB stain with the Ct value of the CTM test, and it establishes the base data for semi-quantitative identification of M. tuberculosis by the Ct value. The Ct values for 135 positive specimens of the CTM were inversely correlated with the AFB stain (rs=-0.545, P<0.01). When the Ct value of the CTM test and the time to positivity (TTP) of the mycobacteria cultures were verified based on the AFB stain, they were found to have a positive correlation (rs=0.136, P<0.01). The negative correlation between the CTM test and the AFB stain grade was demonstrated. The clinical significance was verified by applying these criteria to the clinical results. The semi-quantitative criteria of this study can be used to facilitate the rapid isolation of patients with active tuberculosis and infection control in the hospital.
This study aimed at comparing the performance of imported LX detergent cleaning solution (LX-CS) and the self-manufactured OC cleaning solution (OC-CS), based on functional and quantitative analysis. The functional analysis was carried out using apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values. For quantitative analysis, precision, linearity, and carry-over rates were measured with commercial control materials according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines. Using OC-Sensor PLEDIA (Eiken Chemical, Japan), the ADC value of all cuvettes satisfied the acceptance criteria. For quantitative analysis, precision was less than 5.0% for the two products, and carry-over rates were less than ±1.00%. The linearity slopes and r2 values were 1.0017 and 0.9982 in the LX-CS, and 0.9924 and 0.9996 in the OC-CS, respectively. The correlation coefficient (r) was found to be 0.9997. Also, the percent difference in correlation with 40 artificial-stool specimens was less than 10% and the p-value was less than 0.1. The result of standard deviation ratio (D: ±1 SD ratio) was similar for both products. In conclusion, the functional and quantitative analyses of the two products were compared and showed similar results. In the future, the self-manufactured OC-CS will be able to provide a much more stable and faster supply than the imported LX-CS.

Purpose: To investigate normal location of the peroneus longus tendon (PL) in the cuboid groove by evaluating it between ankles with no significant abnormality (asymptomatic group) and those with retromalleolar PL dislocation (dislocation group) using three-dimensional isotropic fast spin-echo (3D-FSE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the ankle. Materials and Methods: Thirty-six and 32 3D-FSE ankle MRI were assigned to the asymptomatic group and the dislocation group, respectively. Using multiplanar reformatted 3D-FSE, qualitative PL location (i.e., outside, overlying, and inside in relation to the cuboid groove), quantitative PL location (i.e., distance between the proximal margins of PL and cuboid groove), and cuboid groove size were measured in lateral, middle, and medial levels of the cuboid groove. Results: In the asymptomatic group, 64%, 42%, and 11%, respectively, had the outside or overlying-located PL in lateral, middle, and medial levels of the cuboid groove and the quantitative location gradually decreased from lateral to medial level. Qualitative and quantitative PL locations were not significantly different between the asymptomatic group and dislocation group. Cuboid groove size showed significant negative correlation with quantitative PL location in both groups. Conclusion: Outside- or overlying-located PL in lateral and middle levels of the cuboid groove would be a normal finding, regardless of PL status at the retromalleolar level.
The objective of tissue characterization is to provide quantitative information about the physical state of tissue interrogated by an ultrasound beam. In the computer simulation, it was found that the echoes were composed of the interferences of the ultrasonic waves reflected from both sides of the thin object, and could be separated by the spectral correlation method. Also, the phantom study demonstrates that thickness of the thin acryl layer beyond the resolution of common ultrasonic imaging systems can be measured- using this method.
