  • There are several models for process quality assurance by quality system(ISO 9000), process capability analysis, acceptance control chart and so on. When a high level process capability has been achieved, it takes a long time to monitor the process shift, so it is sometimes necessary to develop a quicker monitoring system. To achieve a quicker quality assurance model for high-reliability process, this paper presents a model for process quality assurance when the fraction nonconforming is very small. We design an acceptance control chart based on variable quality characteristic and time-censored accelerated testing. The distribution of the characteristics is assumed to be normal of lognormal with a location parameter of the distribution that is a linear function of a stress. The design parameters are sample size, control limits and sample proportions allocated to low stress. These parameters are obtained under minimization of the relative variance of the MLE of location parameter subject to APL and RPL constraints.

  • Exponentially Weighted Moving Average(EWMA) control chart for variance-covariance matrix of several quality characteristics based on accumulate-combine approach has proposed. Numerical computations show that multivariate EWMA chart based on accumulate-combine approach is more efficient than corresponding multivariate EWMA chart based on combine-accumulate approach.

  • Many practical problems of quality control in service management are derived from the use of ordinal variables. Ordered linguistic variables differ from measurement variables. This paper presents a new control chart of a production process based on ordinal variables.

  • This papeer proposes a general approach of the multivariate expontially weighted moving average(MEWMA) chart, in which the smoothing matrix has full elements instead of only diagonal elements. The average run length (ARL) properties of this scheme are examined for a diverse set of quality control environments and the information to design the chhart is provied. Performance of the scheme is measured by estmating ARL and compared to those of two group cumulative sum (CUSUM) chats. The comparison resullts show that the MEWMA chart can improve its ARL performance in detecting a small shifts out-of-control in the start-up stage, the general MEWMA chart of a full smoothing matrix appears to offer an exceptional protection aginst departures from control in the process mean.

  • Modern processes often monitor more than one quality characteristic that are referred to as multivariate statistical process control (MSPC) procedures. The MSPC is the most rapidly developing sector of statistical process control and increases interest in the simultaneous inspection of several related quality characteristics. Most multivariate detection procedures based on a multi-normality assumptions are independent, but there are many processes that assume non-normality and correlation. Many multivariate control charts have a lack of related joint distribution. Copulas are tool to construct multivariate modelling and formalizing the dependence structure between random variables and applied in several fields. From copula literature review, there are a few copula to apply in MSPC that have multivariate control charts, and represent a successful tool to identify an out-of-control process. This paper presents various types of copulas modelling for the multivariate control chart. The performance measures of the control chart are the average run length (ARL) and the average number of observations to signal (ANOS). Furthermore, a Monte Carlo simulation is shown when the observations were from an exponential distribution.

  • This paper presents the response calibration method based on quality control range, which is established from the concept and method of statistical quality control for natural frequency ratio and response ratio. To this end, statistical analysis including descriptive statistics analysis, normality test, ANOVA were performed for response characteristics obtained from loading tests and structural analysis for more than hundred and thirty well-conditioned bridges. Suggested method is based on real structural integrity evaluation case studies and statistical quality control approach, in this respect it is expected to provide scientific criteria and systematic procedure for response calibration and load carrying capacity assessment.

  • A control chart is very useful in monitoring various production process. There are many situations in which the simultaneous control of two or more related quality variables is necessary. When the joint distribution of the process variables is multivariate normal, multivariate Shewhart control charts using the function of the maximum likelihood estimator for monitoring the dispersion matrix are considered for the simultaneous monitoring of the dispersion matrix. The performances of the multivariate Shewhart control charts based on the proposed control statistic are evaluated in term of average run length (ARL). The performance is investigated in three cases, where the variances, covariances, and variances and covariances are changed respectively. The numerical results show that the performances of the proposed multivariate Shewhart control charts are not better than the control charts using the trace of the covariance matrix in the Jeong and Cho (2012) in terms of the ARLs.

  • Advanced Phase Isolation Ditch (APID) process was studied to develop economic retrofitting technology, for the plants where retrofitting of common activated sludge process is required. In this study, to evaluate and monitor the effluent water quality ($BOD_5$, SS, T-N, and T-P) and operating conditions (Influent, SVI, SRT, and HRT) as process capable and stable parameters for treating municipal wastewater, a demonstration plant was installed and operated in the existing sewage treatment plant of P city. During this study, the average effluent $BOD_5$, SS, T-N, and T-P concentrations were 7.7, 5.6, 10.8, and 1.6 mg/L. Trend analysis of influent $BOD_5$, SS, T-N, and T-P in APID process were illustrated that APID process need for more strong APID process management on the winter session, such as developing new intermediated aeration mode, operating methods, and managements strategy. At the application of control chart, the signal of uncommon effects at APID process was determined much higher existing control chart tntr conventional control chart in this study. These results indicate that conventional control chart has been collected and determined cleary signal at only stable situation. Therefore, newly developed APID process of dynamic control chart can be one of the useful tool for monitoring and management process.
