A study on the Push-Pull type high frequency resonant inverter (푸시-풀형 고주파 공진 인버터에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a Push-Pull type high fre-quency resonant inverter conposed of consolidation of boost converter circuit and resonant circuit. By using a boost converter circuit the proposed inverter can obtain a twice input voltage of reson ant circuit and reduce a secondary turn ratios. By using both boost-converter and switching device can be reduce by half. Also the ana-lysis of the proposed circuit was described by using normalized parameter and operating characteristics have been evaluated as to switching frequency and parameters. In the future this pro-posed inverter shows that it can be practically used as a power source system for the lighting equipment of discharge lamp induction heating applications.

  • An improved current-fed push-pull PWM converter with integrated magnetics is presented. With this improved topology, the design of magnetic elements such as an inductor and a transformer becomes easier than that using the conventional topology, especially when the converter is suffered from an extremely high input current. Since this gives twice the voltage conversion ratio compared to the conventional one, it is also suited for the high voltage step-up power conversion process. The operation of the proposed converter is thoroughly analyzed. Also, the theoretical analysis and experimental results are taken from the laboratory level prototype.

  • An active-clamp current-fed push-pull converter for the step-up application is proposed. The proposed converter is composed of active-clamp circuits and a voltage doubler rectifier. Thus, the voltage stress of the main switches is reduced and the output diodes are clamped to output voltage. Moreover, the output diodes can achieve zero current switching (ZCS) by the series resonance between resonant capacitors and leakage inductances. The prototype is designed for 350V/1.5kW with input voltage range $30{\sim}60V$. The theoretical analysis and experimental results are presented.

  • This paper proposed optimal design and microcontroller driver for driving the thin-type ultrasonic motor. To find the optimal size of the stator, motions of the motor were simulated using ATILA by changing length, width and thickness of the ceramics. Two sinusoidal waves which have 90 degree phase difference were needed for driving the thin-type motor. The thin-type ultrasonic motor driver was composed of microcontroller(Atmega128), push-pull inverter, encoder and AD-converter. Microcontroller generates four square waves which have variable frequency and 25[%] duty ratio in $20{\sim}150$[kHz]. The output signals of microcontroller were converted to sine wave and cosine wave by push-pull inverter and were applied to the thin-type ultrasonic motor. The encoder and AD-converter were used for maintaining speed of the thin-type ultrasonic motor. The AD-converter controlled DC voltage of inverter in accordance with output signal of encoder. Using the driver, characteristics of the motor as speed and torque were measured.

  • 일반적인 상용차에서 사용되고 있는 기계식 에어컨 시스템은 엔진의 가동(주행 또는 공회전)에 의해 발생되는 에너지를 이용해 차량 실내온도를 유지시켜준다. 이러한 기계식 에어컨 시스템의 작동은 엔진 구동력의 일부를 사용하기 때문에 상용차의 연비와 큰 관련성 있다. 상용차량은 경우 하절기 작업대기, 차량 내 야간취침 등이 빈번해 운전자의 운행습관에 따라 연료 소비량이 증가하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 개선하고자 대형 상용차량이 정차중인 무시동 기간에도 일정 온도의 유지가 가능한 전동식 압축기 구동용 Cascaded Push-Pull 컨버터를 제안하였다.

  • From the foregoing papers, it has been clarified that the push-pull current-fed DC-DC converter is excellent in stability as compared with the other conventional DC-DC con-verters. The relation between the stability of the converter and the capacitance of smoothing condenser is analyzed, considering the ESR of smoothing condenser and the 1 st order phase lag of the feedback circuit. From the results, it is known that when the capacitance of smoothing condenser is reduced, the stability of the converter is also excellent as compared with the conventional buck type converter, whereas there are limitations for practical use, since the ripple of output voltage increases by increasing of output current.

  • Single winding self driven synchronous rectification(SWSDSR) scheme is based on an additional winding in the power transformer (auxiliary winding). It allows for maintaining the synchronous rectifiers on even when the voltage in the transformer is zero, which is impossible to do in traditional self-driven approaches.   • In this paper, a bidirectional three-phase push pull converter is analyzed for the high power, wide voltage range applications. From comparison analysis of two switching methods: PWM plus phase-shift (PPS) and dual-asymmetric PWM (DAPWM) with the effect of dead-time, the proposed hybrid control is aimed to reduce the circulating current under wide voltage range operation. Value of leakage inductance effect to the peak current value, current stress and conduction loss in facing the load variation. Trade-off between power range and slew rate of transformer current was analyzed for properly selecting value of the transformer leakage inductance. Experimental results from a 22-kW prototype are provided to validate the proposed concept.

  • In this study, a single-stage, four-phase, interleaved, totem-pole AC-DC converter is proposed for a super-fast charger station that requires high power, a wide voltage range, and bidirectional operation capabilities and adopts various types of electric transport vehicles. The proposed topology is based on current-fed push-pull dual active bridge converter combined with the totem-pole operation. Owing to the four-phase interleaving effect, the bridge on the grid side can switch at 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 to achieve a ripple-free grid current. The input filter can be removed theoretically. Switching methods for the duty of the secondary-side duty cycle are proposed, and they correspond to the primary duty cycle for reducing the circulating power and handling the total harmonic distortion. Therefore, the converter can operate under a wide voltage range. Experimental results from a 7.5 kW prototype are used to validate the proposed concept.
