KSLV-I 상단부 고전압 부하용 TVC 배터리 개발 (Development of the TVC Battery for High Voltage Loads in KSLV-I Upper Stage)

  • 본 논문에서는 TVC 배터리의 설계 개념, 특성과 환경 및 성능 시험 결과에 대해 간략히 보인다 KSLV-I 상단에 탑재되는 TVC 배터리는 168개의 소니 18650VT 고전력 리튬이온 셀을 사용하며, 84개의 셀을 직렬로 구성한 후 각 열을 병렬로 2개 연결하여 추력 벡터제어(TVC) 시스템의 미션에 요구되는 전압(공칭 270V)과 전류를 공급한다. TVC 시스템의 부하 특성은 짧은 시간 동안 높은 전류 출력을 요구하는 펄스의 형태를 가진다. 무게를 최소화하며 시스템 요구 전력을 공급하기 위해 18650VT 셀을 적용하였다. 18650VT 셀은 고전력 응용분야를 위해 설계된 모델로 10C 연속 방전 능력을 갖고 있다.

  • As the products such as HDD, Notebook, PDA, and Mobile Phone become smaller and thinner, the radius of threads as well as holes for assembling those products become smaller, even down to 1mm. To produce such small holes and thread efficiently, multi tapping is highly necessitated. However the multi tapping characteristics is not well known because its complicated cutting mechanism and thus the quality of the produced holes and threads is not well studied yet. In this paper, experiments have been conducted for small-radius threads using M2 and M2.6 and M3 cold forming tap to investigate multi tapping process using several useful signal such as torque and Z-axis encoder pulse. The surface and profile of the machined threads have been magnified and observed through a SEM.

PI 상태관측기를 이용한 리튬폴리머 배터리 SOC 추정 (The State of Charge Estimation for Lithium-Polymer Battery using a PI Observer)

  • In this study, a lithium polymer battery (LiPB) is simply expressed by a primary RC equivalent model. The PI state observer is designed in Matlab/Simulink. The non-linear relationship with the OCV-SOC is represented to be linearized with 0.1 pu intervals by using battery parameters obtained by constant-current pulse discharge. A state equation is configured based on battery parameters. The state equation, which applied Peukert's law, can estimate SOC more accurately. SOC estimation capability was analyzed by utilizing reduced Federal Test Procedure (FTP-72) current profile and using a bi-directional DC-DC converter at temperature ($25^{\circ}C$). The PI state observer, which is designed in this study, indicated a SOC estimation error rate of ${\pm}2%$ in any of the initial SOC states. The PI state observer confirms a strong SOC estimation performance despite disturbances, such as modeling errors and noise.

  • 본 논문은 tms 32010이라는 디지탈 신호 처리용소자를 사용하여 초음하 펄스 도플러 장치를 구현한 것이다. 도플러 장피란 초음파 신호의 송수신 과정에서 발생하는 도플러 효과를 이용하여 혈류의 속도를 측정하는 장치이다. 한 점에서의 속도를 측정하는 단일채널 도플러 장치에서는 실시간 고속 푸리에 변환기를 구현하여 도플러 주하수의 스펙트럼을 측정함으로서 혈류속도를 측정하며 초음파 빔의 일직선상에서의 여러점을 동시에 측정하는 다중채널 도플러 장치에서는 영점교차검출기를 구현하여 평균주파수를 측정하였다. 자중채널 장치는 직렬처리법을 사용하여 하드웨어를 간단히 하였으며 8점에서의 속도를 측정할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • Cascaded H-Bridge multi-level inverters can be implemented through the series connection of single-phase modular power bridges. In recent years, multi-level inverters are becoming increasingly popular for high power applications due to its improved harmonic profile and increased power ratings. This paper presents a control method for balancing the dc-link voltage and ride-through enhancement, a modified pulse width-modulation Compensation algorithm of cascaded H-bridge multi-level inverters. During an under-voltage protection mechanism, causing the system to shut down within a few milliseconds after a power interruption in the main input sources. When a power interruption occurs finish, if the system is a large inertia restarting the load a long time is required. This paper suggests modifications in the control algorithm in order to improve the sag ride-through performance of ac inverter. The new proposed strategy recommends maintaining the DC-link voltage constant at the nominal value during a sag period, experimental results are presented.

  • Zinc Air battery obtain their energy density advantage over the other batteries by utilizing ambient oxygen as the cathode materials, and reusing cathode as recycled form. And specific capacity of zinc powder is as high as 820mAh/g. When Zinc Air battery discharged by low rate current discharge voltage profile has very flat pattern until end of voltage. But, when Zinc Air battery discharged by high rate current discharge voltage and capacity become lower. Therefore, we focused on effects of catalyst size in cathode. So we examined performance of zinc air batteries, average discharge voltage, capacity, energy, resistance. And we also obtained resistance by the GSM pulse discharge. So we have got optimum size of catalyst for Zinc Air battery.

A STUDY ON WELD POOL MONITORING IN PULSED LASER EDGE WELDING

  • Edge welding of thin sheets is very difficult because of the fit-up problem and small weld area In laser welding, joint fit-up and penetration are critical for sound weld quality, which can be monitored by appropriate methods. Among the various monitoring systems, visual monitoring method is attractive because various kinds of weld pool information can be extracted directly. In this study, a vision sensor was adopted for the weld pool monitoring in pulsed Nd:YAG laser edge welding to monitor whether the penetration is enough and the joint fit-up is within the requirement. Pulsed Nd:YAG laser provides a series of periodic laser pulses, while the shape and brightness of the weld pool change temporally even in one pulse duration. The shutter-triggered and non-interlaced CCD camera was used to acquire a temporally changed weld pool image at the moment representing the weld status well. The information for quality monitoring can be extracted from the monitored weld pool image by an image processing algorithm. Weld pool image contains not only the information about the joint fit-up, but the penetration. The information about the joint fit-up can be extracted from the weld pool shape, and that about a penetration from the brightness. Weld pool parameters that represent the characteristics of the weld pool were selected based on the geometrical appearance and brightness profile. In order to achieve accurate prediction of the weld penetration, which is nonlinear model, neural network with the selected weld pool parameters was applied.

  • 인공위성의 전원 시스템은 위성의 성공적인 임무 수행을 위해 안정적인 출력을 가져야 한다. 하지만, 고전력 단주기 펄스 형태의 전력 프로파일을 갖는 부하가 인공위성 전원 시스템에 연결되면 전체 전기 시스템의 불안정성이 야기된다. 이를 해결하기 위해서, 간단하게 구현할 수 있다는 장점이 있는 "배터리를 이용한 전원 시스템 안정화 기법"을 적용할 수 있지만 배터리를 안전 동작 범위 안에서 운영해야한다는 제약조건이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 "배터리를 이용한 전원 시스템 안정화 기법"에 대한 효과적인 interface 구조를 제시하고 배터리를 과충전 및 과방전으로부터 보호하기 위한 보호 앨고리즘에 대해 논하였다.

Development and Applications of TOF-MEIS (Time-of-Flight - Medium Energy Ion Scattering Spectrometry)

  • We have developed and commercialize a time-of-flight - medium energy ion scattering spectrometry (TOF-MEIS) system (model MEIS-K120). MEIS-K120 adapted a large solid acceptance angle detector that results in high collection efficiency, minimized ion beam damage while maintaining a similar energy resolution. In addition, TOF analyzer regards neutrals same to ions which removes the ion neutralization problems in absolute quantitative analysis. A TOF-MEIS system achieves $7{\times}10^{-3}$ energy resolution by utilizing a pulsed ion beam with a pulse width 350 ps and a TOF delay-line-detector with a time resolution of about 85 ps. TOF-MEIS spectra were obtained using 100 keV $He^+$ ions with an ion beam diameter of $10{\mu}m$ with ion dose $1{\times}10^{16}$ in ordinary experimental condition. Among TOF-MEIS applications, we report the quantitative compositional profiling of 3~5 nm CdSe/ZnS QDs, As depth profile and substitutional As ratio of As implanted/annealed Si, Ionic Critical Dimension (CD) for FinFET, Direct Recoil (DR) analysis of hydrogen in diamond like carbon (DLC) and InxGayZnzOn on glass substrate.

Time-Resolved Photoexcitation Dynamics of Electrical Conductivity of Magnetic Organic Superconductor λ-(BETS)2Fe0.45Ga0.55Cl4

  • The time-resolved photoexcitation dynamics of electrical conductivity of the magnetic organic superconductor ${\lambda}-(BETS)_2Fe_{0.45}Ga_{0.55}Cl_4$ has been studied with a nanosecond visible laser pulse at its three different phases, i. e., metallic phase, superconducting phase and insulating phase. A transient increase of the resistance is induced by photoirradiation at all the temperatures measured for all three phases, but the decay profile shows a significant temperature dependence. The relaxation rate in the metallic and insulating phase are different from each other, and the decay time is relatively faster and almost constant in the metallic phase. However, a prolongation of the relaxation time is observed at temperature just around the narrow superconducting phase. Nonbolometric (nonthermal) origin of the observed photoresponse of the electrical conductivity is confirmed in the superconducting phase.
