  • In the Relationship between exhibition space and art work in museum, new paradigm has being presented from 1990' s as a turning point. Even if the formal exhibition space that emphasizes itself as a background has currently being continued, the informal exhibition space is coming to the new art museums, especially after 1990's. This study is to understand how the advent of informal form of space in an exhibition of art museum makes a new paradigm in the relation between the exhibition space and art work in conjunction with public's perception after 1990' s that is identified to the time of Pluralism. To do this, the study raised a question on how the public perceive the relation between space and art work through photographs that contain the information on relation between space and art work. And the questionnaire performed through the curators who are working for art museum, students who studies fine art, students who studies design and public who comes to art museum. After survey through this questionnaire, it is made clear that the informal form of space simply has played a role of background since the beginning of art museum. In other hands, the informal form of space that is mainly presented after 1990' s begins to interrupt the public's perception of art work, changing it's meaning through a spatiality.

  • This paper aims to examine how the public perception of mathematics changed in England in the 19th century. As rapid industrial and social developments took place in the 19th century, the educational environment underwent great changes, and the value and public perception of mathematics also changed. Mathematics took a new position in the terrain of educational reform in the late 19th century. In this study, I analyzed the actual condition of mathematics education in elementary and secondary schools, popular educational institutions, and universities in England in the first half, middle, and second half of the 19th century, and compared what values and usefulness of mathematics education were justified in each institution. I also examined how satirical magazine Punch satirized the public understanding or view on mathematics at each period. It is to be hoped that this study will have significant implications for raising the public's positive perception of mathematics in modern society.

  • Public perceptions of nanotechnology and its potential risk can be an important measure for the sustainable advances of the technology. We conducted a survey for public (N =599) and experts (N = 165). They answered the same questions and results were analyzed. 74% of the public have not heard about the potential risk of nanotechnology and 77% expected that nanotechnology/materials are not harmful to the human and nature. 74% of experts realized the potential hazards by nanomaterials. The results represented that large perception gab between public and experts has existed in Korea. Interestingly, Korean public thought that nanotechnology is more profitable and less risky than that of American. We suggest that 'now is the best time to give appropriate information on the potential risk of nanotechnology to Korean public without preconception or exaggeration.'

This study was to identify public perception on appropriateness of coinsurance rate and factors associated with coinsurance rate in National Health Insurance. Methods: For this cross-sectional study, 507 participants over aged 20 years were recruited from telephone surveys. Respondents experienced at least one and more visiting medical facilities due to medical problems in last 12 months. Demographic factors, socioeconomic positions, and experiences on medical utilization were measured in order to identify factors associated with perception appropriateness of coinsurance rate. Results: The 49.9% (n=209) of the public responded that the coinsurance rate of NHI program was appropriate. There were no differences in positive perception according to socio-demographic factors and experiences on medical utilization except for gender, residential area, and felt expensive when using medical services. People who felt burden of medical expenditure were more likely to perceive coinsurance rate inappropriate (odds ratio, 2.33; 95% confidence interval, 1.52-3.58) Conclusion: In spite of the relatively low coverage rate of NHI, this study identified that 49.9% of the public perceived the current coinsurance rate was adequate. However, people who felt the burden of medical expenditure were still had a negative perception of the coinsurance rate needed to decrease the coinsurance rate.

In the multivariate analysis, the factors that influence the adherence of the COVID-19 social distancing behavior guide were found in women and the perception of the COVID-19 social distancing behavior guideline. Conclusion: In order to promote the implementation of the COVID-19 social distancing behavior guideline, it is necessary to increase the perception of the COVID-19 social distancing behavior guideline and provide additional education in men. It is necessary to investigate the reason behind why men have low adherence to the COVID-19 social distancing behavior guideline.

The government is introducing institutional measures such as Gongumadang and KOGL(Korea Open Government License) program to expand the grounds for public domain works. In order to promote and facilitate the use of public domain works, it is imperative to understand how the providers who create and provide the public domain works, as well as the users, perceive shared economy and public domain works. However, preceding studies usually put emphasis on the meaning and significance of the shared economy and show limitation of not discussing providers' perception on shared economy and public domain works. Therefore, this study examines to see if there's a difference of perception between the consumers/users and the providers who owns the copyright of public domain work.

To verify our model, we conducted our survey to random middle-aged users of five public libraries in Gyeonggi-do and nine public libraries in Seoul, and 246 valid samples are used. Our analysis showed that the characteristics of cultural programs and middle aged people's experience of the programs affect their perception of cultural programs, and the regional perception of public libraries had a significant effect on fulfilling personal needs for life satisfaction. Our analysis also showed the change in values of public libraries that spread to the realm of daily life. This study is meaningful in suggesting directions for national and local public library policies and public library cultural programs.
