흰쥐에서 지구자 추출물의 에탄올 유도 숙취 행동 개선 효능 (The Ameliorating Effect of Hoveniae Semen Seu Fructus Extract against Ethanol-induced Psychomotor Alterations in Rats)

  • Ethanol consumption causes psychomotor alterations. Hovenia Semen seu Fructus (HS), widely distributed in Korea, China, and Japan, has been reported to have beneficial effects on acute alcohol-induced liver injury. The present study sought to assess the effects of HS extract on ethanol-induced psychomotor alterations in rats. Sprague-Dawley rats were orally (p.o.) given ethanol (4 g/kg) (ethanol group) to induce psychomotor alterations. A separate group (HS-treated groups), were treated with different dosages of HS (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, p.o.), 30 minutes before ethanol treatment. The control group received only the vehicle (saline). Ethanol-induced psychomotor alterations were evaluated in the open-field, rota-rod, hanging wire, and cold swimming test. In addition, blood ethanol and acetaldehyde concentrations were also measured. Behavioral evaluations and blood analysis were carried out 0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 8 hours after ethanol administration. Pre-treatment of HS ameliorated ethanol-induced alterations in the open-field, rota-rod, and cold swimming test, significantly evident in 2 and 4 hours after ethanol treatment. These improvements coincided with decrease in blood ethanol and acetaldehyde concentration. Based on these results, the present study suggests that HS may have ameliorating effects against ethanol-induced psychomotor alterations.

Supplementation of Laurus nobilis Attenuate Ethanol-induced Psychomotor Alterations in Rats

  • Laurus nobilis (L. nobilis) is traditionally used as an herbal medicine to treat various diseases. Ethanol (EtOH) consumption entails physiological, mental and psychomotor alterations. The aim of the present study was to assess the effects of L. nobilis in attenuating the EtOH-induced psychomotor alterations. L. nobilis was administered to SD rats, 30 minutes before EtOH administration (4 g/kg), at doses of 25, 50 and 100 mg/kg. Evaluations of psychomotor activity in the open-field, accelerating rota-rod, wire, and swimming ability were done at 1, 2, 4 and 8 hours after EtOH administration. In addition, blood ethanol and acetaldehyde levels were also measured. Pre-treatment of L. nobilis significantly improved EtOH-induced psychomotor alterations and decreased blood ethanol and acetaldehyde levels. These findings suggest that L. nobilis might be an effective substance to attenuate the harmful effects of EtOH, particularly psychomotor alterations, and can potentially be considered as a functional food.

심리운동프로그램의 참여가 융합적 차원에서 정서·행동장애아동의 자아존중감과 우울감 및 과잉행동에 미치는 영향 (The effect of psychomotor by the emotional behavior disorder(ADHD) children on the improvement of Self-esteem, Depression or Hyperactivity in terms of convergence)

  • 본 연구는 정서 행동장애(ADHD)아동을 대상으로 심리운동참여가 자아존중감과 우울감 및 과잉행동의 개선에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 있다. 연구 결과 자아존중감, 우울감에서 집단간 주 효과의 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나 과잉행동에서는 집단간 주 효과에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 자아존중감, 우울감, 과잉행동에서 측정시점에 대한 주효과와 측정시점과 집단의 상호작용에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 결론적으로 심리운동참여는 정서 행동장애(ADHD)아동의 자아존중감, 우울감, 과잉행동에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 심리운동이 아동의 움직임 발달만이 아니라 융합 차원에서 정서발달에 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 고려할 때, 정서 행동장애 아동은 심리운동에 지속적으로 참여할 필요가 있다고 사료된다.

Decrease of glycogen synthase kinase 3β phosphorylation in the rat nucleus accumbens shell is necessary for amphetamineinduced conditioned locomotor activity

  • Phosphorylation levels of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) negatively correlated with psychomotor stimulant-induced locomotor activity. Locomotor sensitization induced by psychomotor stimulants was previously shown to selectively accompany the decrease of GSK3β phosphorylation in the nucleus accumbens (NAcc) core, suggesting that intact GSK3β activity in this region is necessary for psychomotor stimulants to produce locomotor sensitization. Similarly, GSK3β in the NAcc was also implicated in mediating the conditioned effects formed by the associations of psychomotor stimulants. However, it remains undetermined whether GSK3β plays a differential role in the two sub-regions (core and shell) of the NAcc in the expression of drug-conditioned behaviors. In the present study, we found that GSK3β phosphorylation was significantly lower in the NAcc shell obtained from rats expressing amphetamine (AMPH)-induced conditioned locomotor activity. Further, we demonstrated that these effects were normalized by treatment with lithium chloride, a GSK3β inhibitor. These results suggest that the behavior produced by AMPH itself and a conditioned behavior formed by associations with AMPH are differentially mediated by the two sub-regions of the NAcc.

Early neurodevelopment in very low birth weight infants with mild intraventricular hemorrhage or those without intraventricular hemorrhage

  • Purpose: This study aimed to assess early development in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants with mild intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) or those without IVH and to identify the perinatal morbidities affecting early neurodevelopmental outcome. Methods: Bayley Scales of Infant Development-II was used for assessing neurological development in 49 infants with a birth weight <1,500 g and with low grade IVH (${\leq}$grade II) or those without IVH at a corrected age of 12 months. Results: Among the 49 infants, 19 infants (38.8%) showed normal development and 14 (28.6%) showed abnormal mental and psychomotor development. Infants with abnormal mental development (n=14) were mostly male and had a longer hospitalization, a higher prevalence of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), and were under more frequent postnatal systemic steroid treatment compared with infants with normal mental development (n=35, P<0.05). Infants with abnormal psychomotor development (n=29) had a longer hospitalization and more associated PDA compared to infants with normal psychomotor development (n=20, P<0.05). Infants with abnormal mental and psychomotor development were mostly male and had a longer hospitalization and a higher prevalence of PDA and BPD compared to infants with normal mental and psychomotor development (n=19, P<0.05). Using multiple logistic regression analysis, a longer duration of hospitalization and male gender were found to be significant risk factors. Conclusion: Approximately 62% of VLBW infants with low grade IVH or those without IVH had impaired early development.

  • The dramatic increase in e-Learning enrollments in higher education is likely to continue. These e-Learning environments have made learning much more convenient by stretching the spatial and temporal barriers. Their effectiveness, however, remains to be examined. In this research, the author explore the importance of personalization, interactivity and the important role of contents organizing in online education environment. Furthermore, the authors divide e-learning outcome into psychomotor, cognitive, and affective outcome. Indeed, e-Learning for psychomotor outcome has been viewed as impossible. The authors discuss the implications of the findings for theory and practice.

  • Chun-Kwang(癲狂) is a oriental medical term which has psychosis or similar symptoms. It is similar to schizophrenia or bipolar disorder in western medicine. Recently we have treated a patient with Chun-Kwang showed psychomotor epilepsy symptoms. He usually has gotten vertigo in the morning, and then suffered from hallucinations. There was no evidence of organic abnormality in the brain. We treated the patient with oriental medical therapy. The result of treatment was effective partially.

양성 및 음성 정신분열증 환자의 우울에 관한 연구 (A Study of Depression in Positive and Negative Schizophrenics)

  • 본 연구는 1992년 2월부터 1994년 8월까지 영남대학교 의과대학 부속병원 정신과 및 국립 부곡 정신병원 정신과에 외래 및 입원한 양성 정신분열증 환자 119명, 음성 정신분열증 환자 122명인 241명 (53.2%)과 정상인 집단 212명 (46.8%)으로 총 453명을 대상으로 하였다. 이들을 대상으로 하여 Zung의 자기-평가 우울척도(Self-Rating Depression Scale: SDS)와 한국판 Wechsler 지능검사(Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale : KWIS)의 동작성 검사 중에서 바꿔쓰기 검사의 척도를 중심으로 하여 측정한 양성 및 음성 정신분열증 환자의 우울을 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다. 음성 정신분열증 집단에서 우울(p<0.001), 성욕 감퇴(p <0.01), 빈맥 (p<0.01), 피로(p <0.05), 정선운동 지체(p <0.001), 정신운동 초조(p<0.001), 절망감 (p<0.01), 과민성 (p<0.01), 우유부단(p<0.001), 자기비하(p<0.01), 공허갑(p <0.001), 자살사고의 반추 (p<0.001) 그리고 불만(p<0.001) 등은 양성 정선분열증보다 유의미하게 높이 평가된 항목이었다. 정상인 집단과 양성 및 음성 정신분열증 집단에 서 우울성향은 정상인 집단보다 정신분열증 집단에서 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 또한 음성 정신분열증집단이 양성 정신분열증집단보다 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 음성 정신분열증 집단 의 우울수준이 양성 정신분열증 집단보다 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 정신분열증 집단은 정상인 집단에 비해 현저한 정신운동 기능장애를 보였고, 음성 정신분열증 환 자 집단은 양성 정신분열증 환자 집단보다 정신운동 기능장애에서 그 정도가 더 심한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 정신분열증 환자 집단이 정상인 집단보다 우울수준이 더 높고, 음성 정신분열증 환자 집단은 양성 정신분열증 환자 집단보다 우울수준이 더 높으며, 정신운동 기능장애에서도 그 정도가 더 심하다는 것으로 사료된다.

심리운동프로그램이 보육교사의 자아탄력성과 보육효능감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Psychomotor program on the Childcare Efficacy and Ego Resilience of Child care teachers)

  • 본 논문은 심리운동프로그램이 보육교사의 자아탄력성과 보육효능감에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 시도되었다. 본 연구의 대상자는 서울시 J구의 8개 어린이집의 보육교사로서 최종 대상자는 실험군 18명, 대조군 19명 이었다. 중재프로그램으로 1회 4시간, 주 2회, 총 10회, 총 40시간의 심리운동프로그램을 보육교사에게 제공하였다. 자료수집은 2017년 9월 2일부터 11월 12일 사이에 이루어졌으며 수집된 자료는 독립표본 Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 심리운동프로그램이 보육교사의 자아탄력성과 하위요인인 대인관계 효율성 향상에 유의한 효과가 있음을 보여주었으며 이를 통해 보육교사의 자아탄력성 관리와 지원을 위한 기초근거를 마련의 가치가 있었음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 보육교사의 직무에서의 적응과 대처능력 향상에 도움이 될 수 있는 방안을 제시하였으므로 그의미와 가치가 있다고 판단된다.

뇌 기능에 기초한 과학 교수학습: 뇌기능과 학교 과학의 정의적$\cdot$심체적$\cdot$인지적 영역의 연계적 통합 모형 (A Brain-Based Approach to Science Teaching and Learning: A Successive Integration Model of the Structures and Functions of Human Brain and the Affective, Psychomotor, and Cognitive Domains of School Science)

  • In this study, a brain-basrd model for science teaching and learning was developed based on the natural processes which human acquire knowledge about a natural object or on event, the major domains of science educational objectives of the national curriculum, and the human brain's organizational patterns and functions. In the model, each educational objective domain is related to the brain regions as follows: The affective domain is related to the limbic system, especially amygdala of human brain which is involved in emotions, the psychomotor domain is related to the occipital lobes of human brain which perform visual processing, temporal lobes which perform functions of language generating and understandng, and parietal lobes which receive and process sensory information and execute motor activities of body, and the cognitive domain is related to the frontal and prefrontal lobes which are involved in think-ing, planning, judging, and problem solving. The model is a kind of procedural model which proceed fiom affective domain to psychomotor domain, and to cognitive domain of science educational objective system, and emphasize the order of each step and authentic assessment at each step. The model has both properties of circularity and network of activities. At classrooms, the model can be used as various forms according to subjects and student characteristics. STS themes can be appropriately covered by the model.
