  • Psychotherapy is an area of psychology that helps/treats people who are experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties by non-medical means. Psychotherapists build up theoretical backgrounds, profiles, and/or techniques to adequately assist clients and participants in the treatment of these disorders. Despite the fact that South Korea has a history of nearly 20 years in the field of bibliotherapy, there has not been a developed or proposed psychotherapy treatment model that suits many objectives and goals utilizing bibliotherapy. In this study, based on the person-centered counseling theory, we intend to develop a model and approach focusing on the clients-participants who are subject to bibliotherapy. This study will be the basis and reference for the development of bibliotherapy model(s) suitable for various psychological objectives and goals in the future as an alternative or in addition to other psychotherapy methods and techniques.

  • Because chronic pain disorder may has multiple causes or contributing factors, including physical, psychological, and socio-environmental variables, the treatment of patients with the disorder requires biopsychosocial approaches in a multidisciplinary setting. In treating chronic pain, it is important to address functioning as well as pain, and treatment should be to increase functional capacity and manage the pain as opposed to curing it. Therefore treatment goal should be adaptation to pain or minimizing pain with corresponding greater functioning. Treatment begins with the initial assessment, which includes evaluation of psychophysiologic mechanisms, operant mechanisms, and overt psychiatric comorbidity. Psychiatric treatment of the patients requires adherence to sound pharmacologic and behavioral principles. There are four categories of drugs useful to psychiatrist in the management of chronic pain patients : 1) narcotic analgesics, 2) nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs, 3) psychotropic medications, and 4) anticonvulsants, but antidepressants are the most valuable drugs in pharmnacotherpy for them. Psychological treatments tend to emphasize behavioral and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which are divided into self-management techniques and operant techniques. Psychodynamic and insight-oriented therapies are indicated to some patients with long-standing interpersonal dysfunction or a history of childhood abuse.

  • Smart television(TV) is replacing the traditional television model and the importance of user experience(UX) is rising. User experience evaluates the emotion state of users such as immersion, pleasure, and interest. User experience together with usability is a principle to be considered as for designing a smart television. It contributes to improve user satisfaction and lead to the long-term purchase. User experience is more difficult to measure than usability, because UX evaluation requires to biological and psychological techniques. However, the disadvantages of these physiological and psychological techniques require high experimental costs and the restriction of experimental environment. The objective of this paper is first to review conventional methods regarding UX evaluation and suggests a new method for measuring the UX of smart TV which detects keywords related emotional representation. The text is acquired from purchase postscripts of smart TV in the Internet shopping malls. This method costs less than the questionnaire survey to detect emotion.

  • Background: Many patients with chronic low back pain have reduced movement due to pain. For that reason, muscle strength weakens, which leads to pain again. The pain caused by such a vicious circle is not only caused by structural problems, but also by physical function, activity disorder, or psychological depression due to biopsychosocial approaches and pain neuroscience education was applied as an intervention to find out its effect. Therefore, this study was experimented with to find out the effects of pain neuroscience education on pain, physical function, activity disorder, and depression in patients with chronic low back pain. Design: Randomized control trial Method: The study subjects were 39 patients with chronic low back pain, and the study subjects were randomized through computers to the experimental group applying pain neuroscience education and the control group applying only general physical therapy and myofascial release techniques, and the experiment was conducted for 4 weeks. Pressure Pain Threshold , Schober test, Korean Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire, Korean Oswestry Disability Index, and Korean Depression Screening Assessment were measured. Results: As a result of the study, there was no significant difference in pain neuroscience education compared to the group that applied only general physical therapy and myofascial release techniques in both lumbar pressure pain thresholds, Schober test, Korean Roland-Morris disability questionnaire, and Korean Oswestry disability questionnaire. However, the Korean Depression Screening Assessment which is the result of measuring depression, showed significant results(p<0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, it is believed that it can be a way to mediate the psychological part through pain neuroscience education for patients with chronic low back pain in the future.

  • With the help of information technology for a film, characteris both the composition of the story and one of the most important elements that lead the story. Character has a close relationship with personality description, and the character's age, background, education, and occupation help decide his or her personality. Charades are important in that by describing a character's psychology using charade techniques, it gives a stronger impression than by describing with merely lines or narration. When a man's thought changes, their behavior changes; when a behavior is repeated, it becomes habit; when a habit is repeated, it becomes nature. The nature is the person's personality, otherwise called character. Therefore, charade techniques describe a character's psychology well, and consequently, it has maintained its importance. Because human nature and in-depth psychological description have a connection with a character's personality development, I would like to discuss the topic through this research. By using Director Shunji Iwai's "April Story" as the text, the effects of charade techniques on a character's personality development in film will be analyzed by seeking and presenting the methodology shown within the work through charade-acting techniques used by the characters for the development of character's personality.
