Performance Analysis of Pursuit-Evasion Game-Based Guidance Laws

  • We propose guidance laws based on a pursuit-evasion game. The game solutions are obtained from a pursuit-evasion game solver developed by the authors. We introduce a direct method to solve planar pursuit-evasion games with control variable constraints in which the game solution is sought by iteration of the update and correction steps. The initial value of the game solution is used for guidance of the evader and the pursuer, and then the pursuit-evasion game is solved again at the next time step. In this respect, the proposed guidance laws are similar to the approach of model predictive control. The proposed guidance method is compared to proportional navigation guidance for a pursuit-evasion scenario in which the evader always tries to maximize the capture time. The capture sets of the two guidance methods are demonstrated.

  • 본 논문에서는 적분비례항법 유도방식을 사용하는 유도탄 유도루프에 대한 안정된 시간영역을 유도하였다. 고려된 유도탄 유도루프는 한 개의 선형 시불변요소와 시변 궤환이득으로 구성된 제어시스템으로 형식화될 수 있다. Circle criterion 을 적용함으로써 안정성이 보장되는 비행 잔여시간에 대한 한계치를 총 비행시간의 함수로 유도할 수 있었으며, Popov criterion 을 통해 얻는 결과에 비해 덜 보수적인 결과를 얻었다.

New Guidance Filter Structure for Homing Missiles with Strapdown IIR Seeker

  • For implementing the proportional navigation guidance law on passive homing missiles equipped with strapdown imaging infrared seekers, the line-of-sight angles and rates with respect to the inertial frame should be estimated by carefully handling the parasitic instability effect due to the seeker's latency. By introducing a new state vector representation along with the Pade approximation for compensating the time-delay of the seeker, this paper proposes a new guidance filter structure, stochastic dynamic models and measurement equations, in three-dimensional homing problem. Then, it derives the line-of-sight angle and rate estimator in general two-dimensional engagement by applying the extended Kalman filter to the proposed structure. The estimation performance and the characteristics of the proposed filter were evaluated via a series of numerical experiments.

  • The primary objective of guidance system is to generate suitable commands so that the pursuer comes closer to its target. It is necessary, however, in the guidance of a certain pursuer that the attitude angle at impact should be within a prescribed range in addition to specification on the miss distance. These guidance requirements can not be satisfied by the general guidance laws developed for miss distance minimization. Compared with the demand in many applications, the guidance laws dealing with impact attitude angle constraint are not easily found. In this paper, biased PNG laws are proposed to obtain the guidance purposes. By Lyapunov method, it is shown that the pursuer can intercept the target with a prescribed attitude angle under the assumption that the pursuer is sufficiently fast and the target maneuver is negligible. The simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the suggested guidance laws.

  • The problem of motion control for AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles) is addressed. The utilization of such robotic vehicles has gained an increasing importance in many marine activities. In this paper the objective is to describe how to design and apply FGS (Fuzzy Gain Scheduling) PD (Proportional Derivative) controller for an AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) to control the yaw and depth of the vehicle by keeping the path of the navigation to a desired point, and/or changing the path according to a set point.

  • This paper deals with the development of a practical control system or an algorithm for optimal aerobatic maneuvers and aerial combat maneuvers. First, a nonlinear flight trajectory tracking control system is synthesized and used to realize the optimal aerobatic maneuver. Some simulation results show that the trajectory achieved with the proposed tracking system is close to the optimal one. This means that the tracking system presented is the practical and effective method to realize the optimal aerobatic maneuvers. Second, the algorithm for a fighter in air combat is presented.   • Until now, many guidance laws have been developed. They mainly used the classical tail-pursuit guidance method based on geometric angle information, the proportional navigation method based on the line of sight(LOS) rate, and the optimal guidance law based on optimal control theorem.   • A formation flight guidance logic that enables the leader-follower station keeping between two UAVs is presented in this paper. The logic is motivated by the investigation of the relation between the proportional navigation and the nonlinear trajectory tracking guidance law, The simplicity of the presented method provides computational efficiency and allows easy implementation. An excellent performance of the proposed logic is demonstrated via various numerical simulations for multiple UAVs environment.

  • This paper deals with 3-dimensional missile guidance law. This presents the general optimal solution of the state equation which includes the target maneuvering as the Gauss-Markov processing. The main results ore about the transformation between the Cartesian coordinates on which both the guidance law and the filter are bused and the polar coordinates system in real missile guidance and measurement information. And the extended Kalman filter and adjustment of the estimated target acceleration by triangular functions is proposed solution to this transformation problem. It is shown that this proposed transformation is valid in real 3-dimensional guidance problem by the computer simulation.

  • This paper presents a real-time algorithm for collision detection, collision avoidance and guidance. Three-dimensional point-mass aircraft models are used. For collision detection, conflict probability is calculated by using the Monte-Carlo Simulation. Time at the closest point of approach(CPA) and distance at CPA are needed to determine the collision probability, being compared to certain threshold values. For collision avoidance, one of possible maneuver options is chosen to minimize the collision probability. For guidance to a designated way-point, proportional navigation guidance law is used. Two scenarios on encounter situation are studied to demonstrate the performance of proposed algorithm.
