  • We show that if X is a space such that ${\beta}QF(X)=QF({\beta}X)$ and each stable $Z(X)^{\sharp}$-ultrafilter has the countable intersection property, then there is a homeomorphism $h_X:vQF(X){\rightarrow}QF(vX)$ with $r_X={\Phi}_{vX}{\circ}h_X$. Moreover, if ${\beta}QF(X)=QF({\beta}X)$ and $vE(X)=E(vX)$ or $v{\Lambda}(X)={\Lambda}(vX)$, then $vQF(X)=QF(vX)$.

  • Todays, computers in business world are potent facilitators that most companies could not without them, while they are only tools. They offer extremely efficient means of communication, particularly when connected to Internet. What I stress in this article is the risks accompanied by e-commerce rather than the advantages of Internet or e-commerce. The management of e-commerce companies, therefore, should keep in mind that the benefit of e-commerce through the Internet are accompanied by enhanced and new risks, cyber risks or e-commerce risks. For example, companies are exposed to computer system breakdown and business interruption risks owing to traditional and physical risks such as theft and fire etc, computer programming errors and defect softwares and outsider's attack such as hacking and virus. E-commerce companies are also exposed to tort liabilities owing to defamation, the infringement of intellectual property such as copyright, trademark and patent right, negligent misrepresent and breach of confidential information or privacy infringement. In this article, I would like to suggest e-commerce insurance or cyber liability insurance as a means of risk management rather than some technical devices, because there is not technically perfect defence against cyber risks. But e-commerce insurance has some gaps between risks confronted by companies and coverage needed by them, because it is at most 6 or 7 years since it has been introduced to market. Nevertheless, in my opinion, e-commerce insurance has offered the most perfect defence against cyber risks to e-commerce companies up to now.

Expression and Characterization of Recombinant E2 Protein of Hepatitis C Virus by Insect Cell/Baculovirus Expression System

  • The E2 protein of HCV (hepatitis C virus) is thought to have a potential role in the development of subunit vaccines and diagnostics. To express it by the insect cell/baculovirus expression (Bacu) system, we constructed a recombinant Autographa californica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcIL3E2), determined the most appropriate expression conditions in terms of host cell line and culture medium, and characterized the expressed HCV E2 protein. A culture system using Trichoplusia ni BTI-TN5Bl-4 cells and SF 900IISFM medium expressed a relatively high level of HCV E2 protein. It was revealed that its glycosylation properties and subcellular localization were almost the same as the ones in the mammalian cell expression system previously reported, suggesting the recombinant HCV E2 protein derived from our Bacu system can be utilized for development of a subunit vaccine and diagnostics. Interestingly, HCV E2 protein was not degraded at all even at 43 h post-heat shock in the heat shock-induced necrotic cells, probably due to its integration into the microsomal membrane, indicating that heat shock can be employed to purify HCV E2 protein.

  • The results of comparison and analysis of dynamical features according to Jacquard structure are as follows. Regarding elongation(E) value in tensile property, the value in the direction of course was found to be larger in all Jacquard structure, except floating Jacquard, than the direction of wale. It could be found that, as to bending strength(B) in Bending Property, the value of bending strength in the direction of course smaller in all the textile(structure) except floating than the direction of wale, so that the ability of curve formation is excellent. And in case of floating Jacquard, it showed the smallest value in the direction of course and wale, so that it was interpreted as Jacquard having a soft feel. Blister Jacquard showed the highest value in both directions of course and wale, so that it was evaluated as Jacquard having the hardest touch. With regard to shearing character(G) and shearing hysteresis(2HG) in Shearing Property, Jacquard indicated the lowest value, so it was evaluated as the textile(structure) having high drape the transformation of whose fabric is easy. In addition, normal Jacquard, transfer Jacquard, blister Jacquard showed a high value, so that it could be known they are Jacquards having stiff touch. The study implies that normal Jacquard, bird's eye Jacquard, etc., which well stretch in the direction of a course like tubular Jacquard course, is better to make the margin a little shorter than the basic margin, and Jacquard that well stretches in the direction of wale like ladder's back Jacquard and floating Jacquard is better to make the margin longer and the length shorter than the basic margin.

  • A two-stage Class E power amplifier operated at 2.44GHz is designed in 0.25-$\mu$m CMOS process for Class-l Bluetooth application. The power amplifier employs c1ass-E topology to exploit its soft-switching property for high efficiency. A preamplifter with common-mode configuration is used to drive the output-stage of Class-E type. The amplifier delivers 20-dBm output power with 70$\%$ PAE (power -added-efficiency) at 2-V supply voltage.

A Study on the Changes in the Property of Nylon Fabrics Dyed with Safflower Under Ultraviolet-Light(UV) - Focused on the Changes in Color, Strength, and Surface - (홍화 염색 나일론 직물의 자외선에 의한 특성 변화 - 색상, 강도 및 표면 특성 변화를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the property of nylon fabrics dyed with safflower red and yellow colorants under Ultraviolet(UV)-light. For this purpose, nylon fabrics dyed with safflower red and yellow colorants were compared with each other after uv-light exposure in terms of K/S value, color changes(${\Delta}E$), morphology, and strength retention. K/S value rapidly decreased with increasing exposure time, but K/S value of the samples dyed with safflower red colorants decreased less than that of samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants. In color changes, as increasing exposure time, $L^*$ increased, $a^*$ decreased, $b^*$ increased, and so ${\Delta}E$ increased in samples dyed with safflower red colorants. In color changes, as increasing exposure time, $L^*$ increased, $a^*$ and $b^*$ decreased, and thereby ${\Delta}E$ increased in the samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants, indicating fading away by uv-light and changes of hue, value and chroma value. But the color change of samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants was less than that of samples dyed with safflower red colorants. SEM pictures showed a severe degradation by uv exposure, regardless of colorants type. Tensile strength slowly decreased until 14 days, and rapidly decreased until 28 days. Strength retention of the samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants was higher than that of the samples dyed with safflower red colorants.
