  • Confocal scanning microscopy (CSM) has an important role as the three-dimensional profiler. An image distribution can be reconstructed by a correlation analysis of spots with the bandwidth of radio frequency. But it is a serious problem for the high performance to align the optical components. Especially, the parasitic motion of focus on the detector gives rise to the fatal distortion of an image profile named the extinction effect while using acousto-optical(AO) deflector. An image profile can be regenerated in CSM with many advantages of non-contact, high speed and high resolution comparatively. In addition to the axial response of the primary focus, the lateral movement of it gives a necessity of the unitary lens to the scanning system.   • 임베디드 시스템은 하드웨어 리소스가 매우 작다. CPU속도가 느리고 메모리 크기도 작다. 이런 환경에서의 소프트웨어는 최적화된 크기를 가지고 수행속도가 빠르며 병목 현상이 없어야한다. 이렇게 코드를 최적화하기 위해서는 현재 코드의 문제를 찾아내야 한다. 이것은 정적 분석으로 만으로는 부족하고 프로그램을 수행시켜가면서 정보를 수집하는 프로파일러가 필요하다. 기존의 프로파일러는 윈도우, 리눅스 상에서 수행되는 응용프로그램을 위한 것이기 때문에 저급 임베디드 시스템에서 프로파일러를 수행할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 임베디드용 프로파일러를 설계 및 구현 한다.

  • 서보 전동기는 탑재된 소프트웨어의 명령에 따라 제어되는 전동기로 다양한 임베디드 응용 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 여러 분야에서 사용되고 있는 만큼 각 응용 분야마다 시간, 부하에 따라 서보 전동기에 요구되는 응답성은 다양하다. 응답성에 민감한 서보 전동기의 소프트웨어를 효율적으로 구현하기 위해서는 다양한 요구사항에 대한 분석이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 시간 응답성이 요구되는 서보 전동기의 실제 임베디드 시스템을 위한 인터럽트 측정 소프트웨어를 구현하고, 이에 대한 결과를 제시한다.

Hydrography and Circulation in the Youngsan River Estuary in Summer, 2000 (2000년 여름 영산강 하구의 해수 특성과 순환)

  • Water movement in the Young San River Estuary where a sea dyke was constructed, was observed using anacoustic doppler profiler (ADP) and two TGPS buoys for 25 hours on 27-28 July 2000. Hydrographic observations were simultaneously taken using CTD to understand the characteristic of the spacial structure of temperature and salinity. A large quantity of fresh water was discharged from the sea dyke on 26 July 2000. The observation period fell on neap tide. The amplitude of the tidal elevation and the maximum velocity of the tidal current were about 4 m and 12 cm/sec respectively. The water movement at the surface layer is mainly controlled by wind, and those at the other layers are controlled by semidiurnal tide. The low salinity water less than 22 psu was observed along the northern part during the early observation period while southerly wind prevails. The less saline water moves westward and finally leaves the estuary by easterly wind early on the second day. We can divide the vertical structure into four layers by hydrography and current structure. Mean velocity structure shows that relatively less saline waters at the surface and the middle layer move seaward, and the waters at the upper and the bottom layers move landward. It is thought that the intermittent discharge of river water from the sea dyke makes vertical structure of four layers.

Development of Microlens Array for Maskless Lithography Application (Maskless lithography 응용을 위한 마이크로렌즈 어레이 개발)

  • A microlens array (MLA) was developed based on the wet-etched quartz substrate and coating of UV adhesive on the substrate for maskless lithography application. The developed MLA has the focal length of ${\sim}45\;{\mu}m$ and the spot size of ${\sim}1\;{\mu}m$. The spot size of the focused beam passing through the MLA was detected by CCD camera, and its intensity was monitored by beam profiler. Uniform spots with nearly identical intensities were observed on the focal plane when a beam passes through the fabricated MLA. The focal length was varied depending on thickness of the coated UV adhesive. The thicker the thickness of the UV adhesive was, the shorter the focal length of the MLA was. With a general mask aligner, UV beam focusing was tested onto photoresist (PR). The beams were well focused onto PR when UV passes through the MLA. Depending on the variable distances from the MLA, beam sizes onto PR were controlled. Even at high temperature for a long time, the performances of the MLA were not changed.

Characteristics of accretion and scour around artificial reefs in the southern waters of Korea (한국 남해안에 시설된 인공어초 주위의 퇴적과 세굴 특성)

  • This study describes the characteristics of accretion and scour around artificial reefs in Korea. The survey for accretion and scour was made at a dice reef set consisting of 137 dice reefs. The volume of a dice reef unit is 8 $m^3$. The reef set was placed on the muddy sand at 21.6 m in November of 1999. Equipment used in the survey includes Side Scan Sonar, Multi Beam Echo Sounder, Sub-Bottom Profiler and water current meter. According to the results, the artificial reefs are heaped up at two to three times (4 m) the height of the dice reef. The maximum current around the artificial reefs was 81.5 cm/sec at the ebb tide and 72.7 cm/sec at the flood tide. Scour around artificial reefs occurs upstream to the flow while accretion is formed at wake zone in the downstream. The height of accretion ranges from 2.4 to 3.0 m. The crest of the accretion is formed at the distance of about 10 m from the edge of the reef. The slope of accretion is formed steeply at the vicinity of the reef which is at right angles to the direction of main current, and grows gently lower with the increased distance from the reef. Scour is continuously caused by upwelling from the reef set and by side currents that flow parallel to side of the accretion. Also, scour takes place on the deposited sediment rather than on the remaining bottom sediments. This means that, once fully formed, the depth of scour gully on both sides to the direction of main current hardly changes.

Experimental Study of Estimating the Optimized Parameters in OI (서남해안 관측자료를 활용한 OI 자료동화의 최적 매개변수 산정 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is the suggestion of optimized parameters in OI (Optimal Interpolation) by experimental study. The observation of applying optimal interpolation is ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) data at the southwestern sea of Korea. FVCOM (Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model) is used for the barotropic model. OI is to the estimation of the gain matrix by a minimum value between the background error covariance and the observation error covariance using the least square method. The scaling factor and correlation radius are very important parameters for OI. It is used to calculate the weight between observation data and model data in the model domain. The optimized parameters from the experiments were found by the Taylor diagram. Constantly each observation point requires optimizing each parameter for the best assimilation. Also, a high accuracy of numerical model means background error covariance is low and then it can decrease all of the parameters in OI. In conclusion, it is expected to have prepared the foundation for research for the selection of ocean observation points and the construction of ocean prediction systems in the future.

  • Cast iron is widely used in fields such as the transport and heavy industries. For parts where contact damage is expected to occur, it is necessary to understand the friction and wear characteristics of cast iron. In this study, we use cast iron plates as the specimens to investigate their friction and wear characteristics. We perform various experiments using a reciprocating type tribotester. We assess the frictional characteristics by analyzing the friction coefficient values that were obtained during the sliding tests. We observe the wear surfaces of cast iron and steel balls using a scanning electron microscope, confocal microscope, and 3d profiler. We investigate the friction and wear characteristics of cast iron by injecting sand and alumina particles having various sizes. Furthermore, we estimate the effect of temperature on the friction and wear characteristics. The results obtained are expected to aid in the understanding of the tribological characteristics of cast iron in industry.

Development of relational river data model based on river network for multi-dimensional river information system (다차원 하천정보체계 구축을 위한 하천네트워크 기반 관계형 하천 데이터 모델 개발)

  • A vast amount of riverine spatial dataset have recently become available, which include hydrodynamic and morphological survey data by advanced instrumentations such as ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler), transect measurements obtained through building various river basic plans, riverine environmental and ecological data, optical images using UAVs, river facilities like multi-purposed weir and hydrophilic sectors. In this regard, a standardized data model has been subsequently required in order to efficiently store, manage, and share riverine spatial dataset. Given that riverine spatial dataset such as river facility, transect measurement, time-varying observed data should be synthetically managed along specified river network, conventional data model showed a tendency to maintain them individually in a form of separate layer corresponding to each theme, which can miss their spatial relationship, thereby resulting in inefficiency to derive synthetic information. Moreover, the data model had to be significantly modified to ingest newly produced data and hampered efficient searches for specific conditions. To avoid such drawbacks for layer-based data model, this research proposed a relational data model in conjunction with river network which could be a backbone to relate additional spatial dataset such as flowline, river facility, transect measurement and surveyed dataset. The new data model contains flexibility to minimize changes of its structure when it deals with any multi-dimensional river data, and assigned reach code for multiple river segments delineated from a river. To realize the newly developed data model, Seom river was applied, where geographic informations related with national and local rivers are available.

Wet Etching Characteristics of Cu Surface for Cu-Cu Pattern Direct Bonds (Cu-Cu 패턴 직접접합을 위한 습식 용액에 따른 Cu 표면 식각 특성 평가)

  • Three-dimensional integrated circuit(3D IC) technology has become increasingly important due to the demand for high system performance and functionality. In this work, BOE and HF wet etching of Cu line surfaces after CMP were conducted for Cu-Cu pattern direct bonding. Step height of Cu and $SiO_2$ as well as Cu dishing after Cu CMP were analyzed by the 3D-Profiler. Step height increased and Cu dishing decreased with increasing BOE and HF wet etching times. XPS analysis of Cu surface revealed that Cu surface oxide layer was partially removed by BOE and HF wet etching treatment. BOE treatment showed not only the effective $SiO_2$ etching but also reduced dishing and Cu surface oxide rather than HF treatment, which can be used as an meaningful process data for reliable Cu-Cu pattern bonding characteristics.
