  • Human Sensibility Engineering System (HSES) has been applied to product development for customer's satisfaction based on ergonomic technology. The system is composed of three parts such as human sensibility analysis, inference mechanism, and presentation technologies. Inference mechanism translating human sensibility into design elements plays an important role in the HSES. In this paper, we propose a rule-based inference model for HSES. The rule-based inference model is composed of five rules and two inference approaches. Each of these rules reasons the design elements for selected human sensibility words with the decision variables from regression analysis in terms of forward inference. These results are evaluated by means of backward inference. By comparing the evaluation results, the inference model decides on product design elements which are closer to the customer's feeling and emotion. Finally, simulation results are tested statistically in order to ascertain the validity of the model.

  • Recently we started a development of the digital meister expert system for the product design supporting in manufacturing industry. Knowledge representation is of major importance in digital moister expert system. This rule-based expert system-knowledges are designed for a certain type of knowledge representation such as rules or logic. The way in which a rule-based expert system represents knowledge affects the development, efficiency, speed, and maintenance. Eventually, this digital moister system is used to the engineer in manufacturing industry for the process control, production management and system management. In this paper, we propose the digital moister system knowledge representation method for product design supporting in manufacturing industry and we present introduction and contents of rule-based knowledge representation supporting tool.

  • Feature models are widely used in domain engineering phase of software product lines development to model the common and variable concepts among products. From the feature model, the feature configurations are generated by selecting the features to be included in target product. The feature configuration represents the requirements for the specific product to be implemented. Although there are a lot of researches on how to build and use the feature models and feature configurations, the researches on the formal semantics and reasoning of them are rather inactive. This paper proposes the feature configuration verification approach based on JESS, java-based rule-base system. The Graph Product Line, a standard problem for evaluating the software product line technologies, is used throughout the paper to illustrate this approach. The approach in this paper has advantage of presenting the exact reason causing inconsistency in the feature configuration. In addition, this approach should be easily applied into other software product lines development environments because JESS system can be easily integrated with Java language.

  • In this research, we propose a Unified Fuzzy rule-based knowledge Inference Systems UFIS) to help the expert in cosmetic brand detection. Users' preferred cosmetic product detection is very important in the level of CRM. To this Purpose, many corporations trying to develop an efficient data mining tool. In this study, we develop a prototype fuzzy rule detection and inference system. The framework used in this development is mainly based on two different mechanisms such as fuzzy rule extraction and RDB (Relational DB)-based fuzzy rule inference. First, fuzzy clustering and fuzzy rule extraction deal with the presence of the knowledge in data base and its value is presented with a value between $0\∼1$. Second, RDB and SQL(Structured Query Language)-based fuzzy rule inference mechanism provide more flexibility in knowledge management than conventional non-fuzzy value-based KMS(Knowledge Management Systems)

  • As an increasing number of the FTA, there have also been increasing interests in FTA utilization. It is critical to understand and implement the rules of origin for FTA utilization appropriately. However, due to the spaghetti bowl effect, the restrictiveness index, which is a measure of the degree of difficulty of meeting Product-Specific Rule(PSR) of origin, gets increased. Furthermore, there is a distortion in the method of calculating the correct restrictiveness index. Therefore, we implemented an enhanced method in a context of fishery product to correctly measure the restrictiveness index of Product Specific Rules (PSR) among the rules of origin.

The introduction of 5 working day's rule influence to labor cost in manufacturing cost. Also, it make disappearance to fixed cost of 0.5 working day. Almost manufacturing company expect to have difficulty in product cost. The case of japan, many manufacturing company move to Asian countries after introduction of 5 working day's a week rule. • For better predictions and classifications in customer recommendation, this study proposes an integrative model that efficiently combines the currently-in-use statistical and artificial intelligence models. In particular, by integrating the models such as Association Rule, Frequency Matrix, and Rule Induction, this study suggests an integrative prediction model. Integrated models consist of four models: ASFM model which combines Association Rule(A) and Frequency Matrix(B), ASRI model which combines Association Rule(A) and Rule Induction(C), FMRI model which combines Frequency Matrix(B) and Rule Induction(C), and ASFMRI model which combines Association Rule(A), Frequency Matrix(B), and Rule Induction(C). The data set for the tests is collected from a convenience store G, which is the number one in its brand in S. Korea. This data set contains sales information on customer transactions from September 1, 2005 to December 7, 2005. About 1,000 transactions are selected for a specific item. Using this data set. it suggests an integrated model predicting whether a customer buys or not buys a specific product for target marketing strategy. The performance of integrated model is compared with that of other models. The results from the experiments show that the performance of integrated model is superior to that of all other models such as Association Rule, Frequency Matrix, and Rule Induction.
