  • Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a product development tool used to ensure that the voice of the customer is heard and translated into products. This paper shows the applicability and usefulness of this product development tool in the apparel industry by developing an apparel example and taking it through the four matrices that encompass a QFD process.

  • 제품라인공학 기반의 융합소프트웨어 개발 방법론에서는 어플리케이션 개발을 위해 아키텍처 모델을 제안하고 있다. 그리고 명세를 이용하여 제어컴포넌트를 개발하도록 제안하는데 워크플로우는 트랜잭션을 주로 처리하는 어플리케이션 개발을 위해 제안되었다. 제품라인 공학 기반의 소프트웨어 개발이 효과를 발휘하기 위해서는 도구의 지원이 반드시 필요하다. 하지만 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 도구들은 제품라인 공학개념을 지원하지 않기 때문에 워크플로우 기반의 제품라인 소프트웨어 개발을 지원할 수 있는 도구의 개발이 필요했다. 본 논문에서는 워크플로우 기반의 제품라인 소프트웨어 개발을 지원하기 위해서 개발된 도구를 소개하고 개발된 도구의 활용 가능성을 확인하기 위해서 간단한 활용예제를 소개한다.

  • Since the cost of a new product is determined mainly at the design stage, systematic tools to support the new product to be manufactured at the predetermined cost is very important for successful introduction of a new product. PDM is a tool to support engineers to integrate product data throughout the product development. In this paper, we introduce a prototype of PDM system which has a target costing function, where cost estimation is coupled with structured product data.

  • In today's engineering world, any product development activity requires the expertise and the interaction of many different engineering. Therefore the various activities in a product development architecture are highly distributed and interdependent. The interdependence may be due to sharing of databases and transfer of information between various activities. This will require an integrated product model. That can support distributed design such that participants from different backgrounds collaborate towards one common goal. This paper presents the architecture of the product modeling system for the integration of CAD and CAE. It then reports on the study of STEP 10303 and UG open API focused on the integration of different technical environments.

정비절차 생성을 위한 자동 분해/조립절차 연구 (A Study on the Automatic Assembly/Disassembly Procedure for Generating Maintenance Guideline)

  • The purpose of this research is to propose a maintenance support system for deciding assembly sequence of the product and appropriate tools that are used to assembly and disassembly of parts in the product when geometric properties of the product. The digital maintenance system (DMS) is developed to generate the maintenance guideline and the initial experiment is conducted especially for an underwater weapon system with cylindrical structure. DMS considers four factors to find the efficient assembly and disassembly procedure automatically: (1) assembly tree, (2) properties of each part, (3) distance from the center of the product, and (4) volume. Based on the factors, DMS simulate the movement of each tool virtually and the properties of tools are investigated to find an appropriate tool for using assembly and disassembly of each part in the product. The proposed approach integrates modeling, simulation, data configuration, and virtual reality to allow a development of preliminary maintenance guidance.

서포트벡터 회귀를 이용한 실시간 제품표면거칠기 예측 (Real-Time Prediction for Product Surface Roughness by Support Vector Regression)

  • The development of IOT technology and artificial intelligence technology is promoting the smartization of manufacturing system. In this study, data extracted from acceleration sensor and current sensor were obtained through experiments in the cutting process of SKD11, which is widely used as a material for special mold steel, and the amount of tool wear and product surface roughness were measured. SVR (Support Vector Regression) is applied to predict the roughness of the product surface in real time using the obtained data. SVR, a machine learning technique, is widely used for linear and non-linear prediction using the concept of kernel. In particular, by applying GSVQR (Generalized Support Vector Quantile Regression), overestimation, underestimation, and neutral estimation of product surface roughness are performed and compared. Furthermore, surface roughness is predicted using the linear kernel and the RBF kernel. In terms of accuracy, the results of the RBF kernel are better than those of the linear kernel. Since it is difficult to predict the amount of tool wear in real time, the product surface roughness is predicted with acceleration and current data excluding the amount of tool wear. In terms of accuracy, the results of excluding the amount of tool wear were not significantly different from those including the amount of tool wear.

  • 개발 방법론과 도메인의 특성을 반영하여 테스팅 하기 위해서는 프로세스 표준을 테일러링 해야 하며 테일러링 된 프로세스에 따라 테스트를 수행해야 한다. 그러나 상용화된 테스트 도구들은 테일러링 된 프로세스의 일부만을 지원하기 때문에 실제 테스팅 현장에서는 개발 환경에 적합한 테스트 도구를 구입하거나 개발해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 프로덕트 라인 개발 개념을 이용한 테스트 프로세스 수행 도구 개발 방안을 제안하고 이를 ‘테스트 프로세스 수행 도구(Test Process Execution Tool: Test PET)’로 구현한다. 표준에 명시된 테스트 활동의 공통점과 차이점을 추출하여 이를 컴포넌트로 명세 및 구현하고 개발 방법론과 도메인에 맞는 특성을 반영하여 특정 개발 방법론과 도메인에 맞는 테스트 수행 도구를 개발하는 단계를 제안한다. 제안한 방안으로 구현된 Test PET은 개발 방법론과 도메인, 어플리케이션에 맞는 테스트 프로세스를 생성 한 후 생성된 테스트 프로세스에 따라 테스트를 수행할 수 있는 도구이다.

  • Since software and hardware integration has became a strategic tool for companies to innovate their products, an information system that can comprehensively manage software and hardware integrated product development is critical for the current product development. This paper proposed a product data model that can support modules of related software and hardware parts in Product Data Management(PDM) integrated with Software Configuration Management(SCM). The model allows engineers to define software and hardware product structure independently, and support the integration module that can summon related software and hardware parts to build a comprehensive module for collaboration. Through the integration module, engineers can identify and examine the effectiveness of their design alternatives to other related parts form different disciplines. The product data model was implemented as a prototype PDM system and tested with an example robotics product.

경계표현법을 응용한 순차 금형 자동 설계시스템 개발 및 적용 (A Development of the Design System of the Progressive Stamping Dies by using Boundary Representation and Its Application)

  • In this paper, an auto-design system is introduced for a stamping tool based on commercial computer aided design system with its drafting language. The auto-design system consists of tool oriented product design subsystem which modifies and configures the product drawing, tool concept design subsystem which make a design of the punches and their punching progression and parts design subsystem that makes automatic dimension. The system is applied to the mechanical design of the stamping tool. The main logic of the system is based on half-edge theory, a kernel for the 3 dimensional CAD system, which is applied to 2 dimensional drafting auto-design system. The auto-design system enables to conspicuously reducing the designing time of the tool. In addition, there is little drafting error that had been about 3% without auto design program. It is effective to reduce the development time for new products because of rapid designing time of the tools, standardization of the stamping tool and the drafting rule for the auto-design system. The auto-design system yields high efficiency of the tool manufacturing system.
