Starting as a glutamate producer, Corynebacterium glutamicum has played a variety of roles in the industrial production of amino acids, one of the most important areas of white biotechnology. From shortly after its genome information became available, C. glutamicum has been applied in various production processes for value-added chemicals, fuels, and polymers, as a key organism in industrial biotechnology alongside the surprising progress in systems biology and metabolic engineering. In addition, recent studies have suggested another potential for C. glutamicum as a synthetic biology platform chassis that could move the new era of industrial microbial biotechnology beyond the classical field. Here, we review the recent progress and perspectives in relation to C. glutamicum, which demonstrate it as one of the most promising and valuable workhorses in the field of industrial biotechnology.

Food labelling is the primary means of communication between the producer and purchaser and plays an important role in consumer's choice of food. Food labelling applying to livestock products, such as meat products (ham, sausage etc.), milk products(milk, fermented milk, butter and cheese etc.) and egg Products is regulated by 'Livestock Products Labelling Standard', National Veterinary Research & Quarantine Service (NVRQS) Notification. This study presents the principles of Korean milk products labelling provision and its recent revision to prevent consumer from misunderstanding and facilitate fair trade practices in market and also keep consistencies with international and relative national regulations. This study also suggests milk products labelling policy direction in the future.

In order to survey the traditional salt production at the eastern coast, Young-Hae, in Yi-dynasty, data of salt production were collected through interviewing with whom had received the skill from ancestors and analyzed the data. The results obtained were as follows. Salt-producer take the salt water containing much salt and then he transported the salt-water by having water buckets an back in with using the water-toting device (Mul ji ge). Finally he carried out the irrigation (Mul dae gi) to a ditch (Dorang). It is noteworthy that the East-sea salt production method was not selecting a method of salt-pond style with a bank for salt production but using the salt water transportation fashion without a bank for that. Judging from these facts, we could conclude that traditional salt production method was handed down into the Yi-dynasty from ancient times.

In this paper, the method on calculating benefits of combined heat and power is introduced for standard evaluation in electrical power system. This paper calculates benefits about new national viewpoint and viewpoint of independent power producers and assesses benefits of combined heat and power in Korea and In Seoul national capital area. Benefit costs are composed of avoid cost of centralized generation, line upgrading adjustment, loss adjustment and electrical power trade cost per year in earlier study, in addition trade cost of $CO_2$, construction cost of combined heat and power for accurate calculation. Benefit of combined heat and power is calculated by simulation results of real electrical power system.

Mixed acceptance sampling plans for quantity of products in prepackages are widely used for compliance testing. To pass testing, random samples jointly comply with two legal requirements: (i) the average net content of an inspection lot shall be not less than the labelled quantity and (ii) the numbers of under-filled prepackages in a sample are less than or equal to permitted numbers. This paper discusses some drawbacks of the acceptance sampling plans and requirements recommended in OIML R87 (KS A 50087 translated by Korean) developed by the International Organization of Legal Metrology and evaluates the producer's and consumer's risks. In addition, problem of determining a target value in filling processes of prepackages under the OIML R87 requirements is addressed and illustrated with a numerical example.

Phytoplankton plays an important part as indicator and primary producer in marine ecosystem. Therefore, phytoplankton community appeared variously according to marine environment, so the data of nutrients, chlorophyll a, temperature, salinity, and DO were analyzed in seagrass bed of Yeoja Bay. Consequently, the phytoplankton community structures were associated with investigation time and place, and seen difference according to the existence and nonexistence of seagrass bed.

Previous analyses of deposit-refund systems (hereafter DRS) mosty concerned consumer-paid DRS. While there has been a trend to put more emphasis on the producers' responsibility in recycling, especilly in Europe, and the supplier-paid DRS has been enforced in Korea during the past decade, little attempt has been made to analyse rigorously the nature of the supplier-paid DRS. This paper looks into the effects of the supplier-paid DRS on firm behaviors and profits under the oligopolistic market structure. It is shown that, in the cournot model where firms strategically interact each other, when the deposit rate is high enough, firms' profit increase as the deposit rate rises. Furthermore, where the number of firms are sufficiently large, it can happen that, as the deposit rate increases, both social welfare and firms' profit improve.

About 600 microorganisms isolated from soil, marsh, compost, etc. were examined for their flocculating ability in the kaolin suspension and swine wastewater. Among them, K-199 was the best producer of flocculant and was identified to be a species belong to the genus Corynebacterium. The maximum production of the flocculant from Corynebacterium sp. K-199 was observed in culture medium containing 2% glycerol, 0.4% peptone, 0.3% K$_{2}$HPO$_{4}$, 0.1% CaCO$_{3}$, 0.05% NaCl, 0.1% yeast extract, 0.1% MgSO$_{4}$,7H$_{2}$O and initial pH 7.5 when cultured with rotary shaker controlled at 25$\circ$C and 150 rpm. Under the optimal culture condition with jar fermentor, the maximum production was reached to flocculating activity of 780 units/ml after 4 days. From the results of the activity be fully maintained by periodate oxidization, it suggests that the activity is due to the protein.

As web environment receives web2.0, producer-oriented services are changing user-oriented. This trend is considered the collective intelligence made by users' knowledge. But in contrast with a change of web, structure of current education is composed of educators as producers. Accordingly, it is difficult to reflect needs of educatees who are real users in education system. So we study online education for advance of its environment which is applied to collective intelligence.
