고장벡터 모델링에 위한 프로세스 고장 검출필터의 설계 및 응용 (A Process Fault Detection Filter Design by Fault Vector Modelling Approach and an Application)

  • A Detection filter that can be used for the Detection and Isolation of process faults is proposed by the use of fault vector modelling, and is applied to DC Motor fault detection. The proposed detection filter is a new one in a view point that its outputs are the estimates of fault variables(or linear combination of them) while all the existing filters estimate the state of process. By this properties, the process fault detection systems with this filter can be constructed in very simple structure. Besides the simplicity of structure and design procedure, the filter has an useful feature that various types of fault can be estimated via the filter by choosing appropriate fault models.

PWM 증기발생기의 고장검출 및 진단에 관한 연구 (A Fault Detection and Diagnosis in a PWR Steam Generator)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a fault detection and diagnosis scheme that can monitor process fault and instrument fault of a steam generator. The suggested scheme consists of a Kalman filter and two bias estimators. Method of detecting process and instrument fault in a steam generator uses the mean test on the residual sequence of Kalman filter, designed for the unfailed system, to make a fault decision. Once a fault is detected, two bias estimators are driven to estimate the fault and to discriminate process fault and instrument fault. In case of process fault, the fault diagnosis of outlet temperature, feed-water heater and main steam control value is considered. In instrument fault, the fault diagnosis of steam genrator's three instruments is considered. Computer simulation tests show that on-line prompt fault detection and diagnosis can be performed very successfully.

독립성분분석을 이용한 다변량 공정에서의 고장탐지 방법 (Fault Detection Method for Multivariate Process using ICA)

  • 대규모 발전소나 화학공정과 같은 다변량 공정은 매우 위험한 환경에서 운전되기 때문에 고장이 발생하면 심각한 인적·물적 손실이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 시스템의 고장을 사전에 탐지할 수 있는 온라인 모니터링 기술이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 세 가지의 다른 다변량 공정 데이터에 ICA를 적용하여 고장탐지를 수행하였고, PCA와 성능을 비교하였다. ICA 기반의 고장탐지 절차는 크게 오프라인 과정과 온라인 과정으로 나뉜다. 오프라인 과정에서는 시스템이 정상일 때 계측된 데이터를 이용하여 고장판별을 위한 문턱 값을 설정한다. 그리고 온라인 과정에서는 실시간으로 계측되는 질의벡터에 대한 통계량을 계산한 후, 계산된 통계량과 사전에 정의된 문턱 값과 비교하여 고장을 판별한다. 본 논문에서 이용한 세 가지의 다변량 공정 데이터에 실험한 결과, ICA 기반 고장탐지 방법이 시스템의 고장을 사전에 탐지하였고, PCA 보다 우수한 고장탐지 성능을 보여주었다.

  • This paper introduces a implementation of fault detection for national highway line 3. Fault detection system was installed and operated on national highway line 3, environmental elements caused by abnormal status or faults has often happened. Therefore, the function of fault detection system is to speedy notify fault site, cause as well as scale of fault to manager. Though the fault detection and diagnosis system has been imported in the field of process of water and electric power, it is just beginning step in the field of ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems). In general, Maintenance system is performed the online/offline process of detection, diagnosis and measure. This paper is studied online detection process, which is realtime remote detection.

Detection Technique of Fault Phenomena Using Power Parameters in Grinding Process

  • The grinding process has been mainly used fur finishing metal products as final machining stage. But chatter vibration and bum of a workpiece have a bad effect on the machined surface and should be detected in modern grinding process. This paper deals with a fault detection of the cylindrical plunge grinding process by power parameters. During the grinding process the power signals of an induced motor were sampled and used to determine the relationship between fault and change of power parameters. A neural network was used far detecting the grinding fault and an influence of power parameters to the grinding fault was analyzed.

  • Two GOS (Generalized Observer Scheme) type Fault Detection Isolation Schemes (FDIS), employing the bank of unknown input functional observers (UIFO) as a residual generator, are proposed to make the practical use of the multiple observer based FDIS. The one is IFD (Instrument Fault Detection) scheme and the other is PFD (Process Fault Detection) scheme. A design method of UIFO is suggested for robust residual generation and reducing the size of the observer bank. Several design objectives that can be achieved by the FDI schemes and the design methods to meet the objectives are described. An IFD system is constructed for the Boeing 929 Jetfoil boat system to show the effectiveness of the propositions. Major contributions of this paper are two folds. Firstly, the proposed UIFO approaches considerably reduce the size of residual generator in the GOS type FDI systems. Secondly, the FDI schemes, in addition to the basic functions of the conventional observer-based FDI schemes, can reconstruct the failed signal or give the estimates of fault magnitude that can be used for compensating fault effects. The schemes are directly applicable to the design of a fault tolerant control systems.

  • A lot of sensor and control signals is generated by an industrial controller and related internet-of-things in discrete manufacturing system. The acquired signals are such records indicating whether several process operations have been correctly conducted or not in the system, therefore they are usually composed of binary numbers. For example, once a certain sensor turns on, the corresponding value is changed from 0 to 1, and it means the process is finished the previous operation and ready to conduct next operation. If an actuator starts to move, the corresponding value is changed from 0 to 1 and it indicates the corresponding operation is been conducting. Because traditional fault detection approaches are generally conducted with analog sensor signals and the signals show stationary during normal operation states, it is not simple to identify whether the manufacturing process works properly via conventional fault detection methods. However, digital control signals collected from a programmable logic controller continuously vary during normal process operation in order to show inherent sequence information which indicates the conducting operation tasks. Therefore, in this research, it is proposed to a recurrent neural network-based fault detection approach for considering sequential patterns in normal states of the manufacturing process. Using the constructed long short-term memory based fault detection, it is possible to predict the next control signals and detect faulty states by compared the predicted and real control signals in real-time. We validated and verified the proposed fault detection methods using digital control signals which are collected from a laser marking process, and the method provide good detection performance only using binary values.

웨이블렛 계수의 분산과 상관도를 이용한 유도전동기의 고장 검출 및 진단 (Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Induction Motors Using Variance, Cross-correlation and Wavelets)

  • 이 논문에서는 신호 모델에 기반하여 유도전동기의 고장 검출 및 고장 진단을 위한 새로운 시스템을 제안한다. 산업현장에 적용하는 기존의 제품들은 신호가 문턱치를 넘어면 고장을 검출하는 단순한 알고리듬을 가지고 있어 고장의 유형이나 고장을 예측하는데 문제가 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 고장 검출 과정과 고장 진단 과정으로 구성되며, 고장 검출 과정은 기계 신호음들이 웨이블렛 필터뱅크를 통과한 후 웨이블렛 계수들의 분산과 상관도를 분석하여 고장을 검출한다. 고장 진단 과정은 패턴분류기술을 적용하여 고장의 유형을 진단하게 된다. 대표적인 유도전동기 고장 유형들로서는 불평형, 미스얼라이먼트, 그리고 베어링 루스 등이 있으며, 이러한 유형들은 제안하는 시스템에서 분석되고 진단을 받게 된다. 제안하는 시스템에 적용한 결과 상관도를 이용한 방법은 78 %, 분산을 이용한 방법은 95 % 이상의 고장진단율을 보이는 우수한 결과를 나타내었다.

  • Fault detection was carried out in a etcher of capacitive coupled plasma with OES (Optical Emission Spectroscopy) and impedance by VI probe that are widely used for process control and monitoring at semiconductor industry. The experiment was operated at conventional Ar and Fluorocarbon plasma with variable change such as pressure and addition of N2 and O2 to assume atmospheric leak, RF power and pressure that are highly possible to impact wafer yield during wafer process, in order to observe OES and VI Probe signals. The sensitivity change on OES and Impedance by VI probe was analyzed by statistical method including PCA to determine healthy of process. The main goal of this study is to find feasibility and limitation of OES and Impedances for fault detection by shift of plasma characteristics and to enhance capability of fault detection using PCA.

  • Success of semiconductor/LCD industry depends on its yield and quality of product. For the purpose, FDC (Fault Detection and Classification) system is used to diagnose fault state in main manufacturing processes by monitoring time series data collected by equipment sensors which represent various conditions of the equipment. The data set is segmented at the start and end of each product lot processing by a trigger event module. However, in practice, segmented sensor data usually have the features of data asynchronization such as different start points, end points, and data lengths. Due to the asynchronization problem, false alarm (type I error) and missed alarm (type II error) occur frequently. In this paper, we propose a robust process fault detection system by integrating a process event detection method and a similarity measuring method based on dynamic time warping algorithm. An experiment shows that the proposed system is able to recognize abnormal condition correctly under the asynchronous data situation.
