Kepler의 망막 상 이론 형성 과정에서의 과학적 문제 발견과 귀추적 사고 (Kepler's Scientific Problem Finding and the Abductive Reasoning in his Discovery of the Retinal Image Formation)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 시각에서의 망막 상 이론을 세우는 데 있어 Kepler가 어떻게 과학적 문제를 발견하고 그의 이론 형성 과정에서 어떻게 귀추적 사고를 하였는가를 조사하고, 그 분석 결과를 통해 과학에서의 창의성 교육을 위한 시사점을 얻는 것이었다. 관련 문헌들의 심층적인 분석을 통해, Kepler의 망막 상 이론에서의 과학적 문제 발견은 당시 시각 이론에 대한, 그의 정확하고 적절한 광학적 지식을 바탕으로 한 비판적 분석으로부터 이루어졌으며, 그는 새로운 이론을 세우는 과정에서 이미 알고 있는 구면 렌즈에서의 광학적 현상을 눈의 메카니즘 설명에 도입함으로써 귀추적 사고의 과정을 거쳤음이 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과들로부터 과학 창의성 교육을 위한 시사점이 다음과 같이 도출되었다. 첫째는, 과학 창의성교수 자료의 개발에 있어서 프로그램 속에 Kepler의 과학적 문제 발견과 같은 상황이 제시될 필요가 있다는 것이며, 둘째로는, 적절하고 정확한 과학적 지식이 과학적 문제를 발견하고 가설을 형성하는 데 있어 필수적이라는 것이 지도되어야 하고, 마지막으로는, 학생 스스로 성공적인 문제 해결 경험을 가질 수 있도록 하고, 그것이 그들로 하여금 새로운 과학적 문제를 발견하는 데까지 이르도록 프로그램을 구성해야 한다는 것이다.

귀추적 사고 과정에서 모델의 역할 -이론과 경험 연구를 통한 도식화- (Roles of Models in Abductive Reasoning: A Schematization through Theoretical and Empirical Studies)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 과학 문제 해결을 위한 귀추적 사고 과정에서 모델의 역할을 이론 연구와 경험 연구를 통해 조사하는 것이었다. 이 연구는 지구과학 탐구 학습 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 설계 기반 연구의 맥락에서 이루어졌으며, 본 논문에서는 그 중 지질학 분야의 귀추적 탐구 활동을 재설계하는 과정을 중점적으로 다루었다. 이론 연구에서는 지구과학에 특징적인 연구 방법으로서 귀추와 모델링을 관련지어 연구한 대표적인 연구자들의 저작들을 집중적으로 고찰하였다. 그 결과로, 증거, 자원 모델, 설명 모델의 관계를 나타낸 모델링 중심의 귀추적 추론에 대한 잠정적인 도식을 제안하였다. 이 도식을 지질학 문제를 해결하는 전문가들의 사고 과정을 분석한 경험 연구를 통해 정교화 하였다. 새로운 도식에는 결정적 증거, 결정적 자원 모델, 과학적으로 타당한 설명 모델의 역할이 포함되었다. 이와 더불어 모델링 중심의 귀추적 탐구 수업에서 학생들의 사고 과정을 지원할 수 있는 교수법적인 시사점을 도출하였다.

사례기반 추론방법을 이용한 치공구의 선정 (Fixture Planning Using Case-Based Reasoning)

  • The aim of this research is the development of an automated fixture planning system for prismatic parts using the case-based reasoning (CBR). CBR is the problem solving paradigm that uses the similarity between a new problem and old cases to solve the new problem. This research uses CBR for the fixture planning. A case is composed with the information of the part, the components of fixture and the method of fixing for the part. The basic procedure is the retrieval and adaptation for the case, and this research presents the method of retrieval that selects most similar case to the new situation. The retrieval-step is divided into an index matching and an aggregated matching. The adaptation is accomplished by the modification, which transforms the selected case to the solution of the situation of the input part by the specified CBR algorithm. The components of fixture and the method of fixing are determined for a new part by the procedure.

  • A Knowledge based expert system is a computer program that emulates the reasoning process of a human expert in a specific problem domain. Expert system has the potential to solve a wide range of problems which require knowledge about the problem rather than a purely analytical approach. This papaer presents the application of knowledge based expert system to power system fault diagnosis. The contents of expert system develpped in this paper is judgement of fault section from a given alarm sets and production of all possible hypothesis for the single fault. Both relay failures and circuit breaker failures are considered simultaneously. Although many types of relay are used in actual system, experts recognize ones as several typical signals corresponding to the fault types. Therefore relays are classified into several types. The expert system is written in an artificial intelligence language "PROLOG" . Best-first search method is used for problem solving. Both forward chaining and backward chaining schemes are used in reasoning process. The application to a part of actual power system proves the availability of the developed expert system.

수학적 지식의 구성에서 유추적 사고의 역할 (The Role of Analogical Reasoning in Mathematical Knowledge Construction)

  • 수학자들은 종종 유추적 사고에 의해 수학적 지식을 구성한다. 유추적 사고는 서로 다른 대상 사이의 유사성을 찾아 연결함으로써, 고립된 것처럼 보였던 대상 사이의 관계성을 확보할 수 있게 한다. 수학적 개념, 절차, 원리, 법칙 등은 관계성의 확보에 의해 낱낱의 지식에서 이론으로 발전한다. 이와 같이 유추적 사고는 수학의 주요한 도구로 활용되고 있으므로, 수학교육에서도 유추적 사고를 활용하는 방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 수학자들의 유추적 사고 활용의 주요 양상이나 세부 과정, 특징에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 수학자들이 유추적 사고를 어떤 맥락에서 어떻게 활용했는지 파악함으로써, 유추적 사고 모델을 개발한다. 이를 토대로 교육적 시사점과 후속연구 주제를 도출한다.

유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 사례기반추론 시스템의 최적화: 주식시장에의 응용 (Optimization of Case-based Reasoning Systems using Genetic Algorithms: Application to Korean Stock Market)

  • Case-based reasoning (CBR) is a reasoning technique that reuses past cases to find a solution to the new problem. It often shows significant promise for improving effectiveness of complex and unstructured decision making. It has been applied to various problem-solving areas including manufacturing, finance and marketing for the reason. However, the design of appropriate case indexing and retrieval mechanisms to improve the performance of CBR is still a challenging issue. Most of the previous studies on CBR have focused on the similarity function or optimization of case features and their weights. According to some of the prior research, however, finding the optimal k parameter for the k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) is also crucial for improving the performance of the CBR system. In spite of the fact, there have been few attempts to optimize the number of neighbors, especially using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. In this study, we introduce a genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the number of neighbors to combine. This study applies the novel approach to Korean stock market. Experimental results show that the GA-optimized k-NN approach outperforms other AI techniques for stock market prediction.

Constraint Programming을 이용한 자원제약 동적 다중프로젝트 일정계획 (Resource Constrained Dynamic Multi-Projects Scheduling Based by Constraint Programming)

  • Resource Constrained Dynamic Multi-Projects Scheduling (RCDMPS) is intended to schedule activities of two or more projects sequentially arriving at die shop under restricted resources. The aim of this paper is to develop a new problem solving method for RCDMPS to make an effect schedule based by constraint programming. The constraint-based scheduling method employs ILOG Solver which is C++ constraint reasoning library for solving complex resource management problems and ILOG Schedule which is a add-on library to ILOG Solver dedicated to solving scheduling problems. And this method interfaces with ILOG Views so that the result of scheduling displays with Gantt chart. The scheduling method suggested in this paper was applied to a company scheduling problem and compared with the other heuristic methods, and then it shows that the new scheduling system has more preference.

2022 개정 수학과 교육과정의 역량을 반영한 수업평가 기준 탐색 - '교수·학습 방법 및 평가' 지식을 중심으로- (The Investigation of the Mathematics Teaching Evaluation Standards Focused on Mathematical Competencies in the revised mathematics curriculum in 2022)

  • This study is to establish the domains and the standards of instructional evaluation on the teacher knowledge dealing with the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment'. Especially, in this study, the instruction assessment standards are developed focused on the five types of mathematics competencies such as problem solving, communication, reasoning, connection, information and handling, which were emphasized in the mathematical curriculum revised in 2022. By the result, ten domains such as an instruction involving instruction goal and content, problem-solving competency, data treatment competency, learners' achievement level and attitude, communication competency, reasoning competency, connection competency, the assessment method and procedure based on the competency, the assessment tool development based on the competency, assessment result based on the competency were new established. According to those domains, the total 20 instructional evaluation standards were developed. This study is limited to consider the domain of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment' among the domains of teacher knowledge, while dealing with the elements of mathematics competencies in the standards. However, instructional evaluation standards reflecting these competencies should be developed in the other diverse domains of teacher knowledge.

안내된 재발명을 포함한 탐구-중심 수업이 학생들의 수학적 활동에 미치는 영향에 관한 사례연구 (A case study of the impact of inquiry-oriented instruction with guided reinvention on students' mathematical activities)

  • Goos(2004) introduced educational researchers' demand for change on the way that mathematics is taught in schools and the series of curriculum documents produced by the National council of Teachers of Mathematics. The documents have placed emphasis on the processes of problem solving, reasoning, and communication. In Korea, the national curriculum documents have also placed increased emphasis on mathematical activities such as reasoning and communication(1997, 2007).The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of inquiry-oriented instruction with guided reinvention on students' mathematical activities containing communication and reasoning for science high school students. In this paper, we introduce an inquiry-oriented instruction containing Polya's plausible reasoning, Freudenthal's guided reinvention, Forman's sociocultural approach of learning, and Vygotsky's zone of proximal development. We analyze the impact of mathematical findings from inquiry-oriented instruction on students' mathematical activities containing communication and reasoning.

초등학교 학생들의 귀납-연역적 추론 능력과 정신 용량 및 보속 오류와의 관계 (The Relationship between Inductive-Deductive Reasoning Ability and Mental Capacity and Perseveration Error of Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem solving strategies of elementary school students and to find out correlations between the functional mental capacity, the perseveration error and the Creature Card Task solving ability. To study this purpose, four categories were selected through pilot test. The sample consisted of 231, the 4th grade students and the 5th grade students in Inchon, Korea and selected 32 students among them. Three instruments were used in this study, Creature Card Task, FIT(Figural Intersection Test) and WCST(Wisconsin Card Sorting Test). Researcher interviewed 32 students about Creature Card Task solving strategies and tests with FIT, WCST. Major findings of the study are as follows: 1. Creature Card Task solving strategies of the selected 4th & 5th grade students were different. Some students solved problems during individual interviews. 2. Creature Card Task solving abilities were significantly correlated with the functional mental capacity and the perseveration error.
