  • To date, the IEA DSM Programme has not undertaken any work on the potential for DSM to cost-effectively relieve electricity network constraints Such constraints are becoming a significant problem in countries where electricity demand is increasing and network infrastructure ('poles and wires') is ageing. As loads grow and infrastructure reaches the end of its economic life, the potential cost of augmenting electricity networks is increasing exponentially. In many situations, network-driven DSM can delay the need for network augmentation. In some limited situations, mainly at the distribution level, network-driven DSM may be able to cost-effectively eliminate the requirement to build a 'poles and wires' solution. In this paper, the concept of network-driven DSM program is surveyed.

Integrated Path Planning and Collision Avoidance for an Omni-directional Mobile Robot

  • This paper presents integrated path planning and collision avoidance for an omni-directional mobile robot. In this scheme, the autonomous mobile robot finds the shortest path by the descendent gradient of a navigation function to reach a goal. In doing so, the robot based on the proposed approach attempts to overcome some of the typical problems that may pose to the conventional robot navigation. In particular, this paper presents a set of analysis for an omni-directional mobile robot to avoid trapped situations for two representative scenarios: 1) Ushaped deep narrow obstacle and 2) narrow passage problem between two obstacles. The proposed navigation scheme eliminates the nonfeasible area for the two cases by the help of the descendent gradient of the navigation function and the characteristics of an omni-directional mobile robot. The simulation results show that the proposed navigation scheme can effectively construct a path-planning system in the capability of reaching a goal and avoiding obstacles despite possible trapped situations under uncertain world knowledge.

  • In this parer, we introduce an algorithm to control flows of the traffic in multi-intersections. It is pointed out that the main problem in traffic control is how to resolve the congested situations for the particular time-durations and directions. The heavy load to a certain direction usually leads the intersection to congested situations, and the adjacent intersections are affected. We control and analyze the traffic flow of multi-intersections consisting of five intersections, in which four intersections are linked to the four directions of the central one. The entrance of vehicles of each direction is described using the concept of probability. We compare the performance of the pretimed signal controls to the traffic adaptive signal controller using a Petri Net simulation tool, Exspect.

  • A matter of primary concern about all the design is concentrated on how to create more valuable things to allow people to live an affluent life. However, it is very difficult to achieve the goal because every design work is changed in accordance with given situations. Situations are changeable, so is design. There is no progress without change, but change is not necessarily progress. It is highly desirable that their changes be beneficial to mankind. Our main problem is to be able to discrimination between which should be discarded and that which should be kept, built and improved Viewed at this aspect, it is significant to study the relation between globalism and cultural identity of design, because every design has been constantly influenced by global trends and local characteristics. The paper is composed of four parts Introduction, Characteristic of global design, Cultural identity of design and Conclusion In Introduction, the purpose and background of the study are presented. In Chapter1. social back ground, multi-kinds smallproduction and new problems and searched. In Chapter2, vernacular design, transmission and propagation and tradition and innovation are considered. In Conclusion, some suggestive words on the subject are mentioned.

진단 수행도에 대한 지식형태의 효용에 관한 연구 (The Effects of Types of Knowledge on the Performance of Fault Diagnosis)

  • With respect to the effects of types of knowledge on human diagnostic performance, the results of several experiments claimed that training with procedural knowledge is more effective than training with principle knowledge. However, more useful results would be attained by investigating when and how the principles of system dynamics is valuable for diagnosis. Accordingly, we conducted an experiment to reevaluate the value of principle knowledge in two problem situations. A simulator system, named DLD, to diagnose an electronic device was created. It is a context-free digital logic circuit which includes forty-one gates of three basic types. The experiment investigated the effects of principle knowledge over common procedural knowledge. The experimental results showed that the effects of principle knowledge is dependent on the complexity of diagnostic situations. This adds up on experimental evidence against the presumed ineffectiveness of principle knowledge and forward reasoning in fault diagnosis. The results also suggest the source of the usefulness of principle knowledge.

Optimal Terminal Interconnection Reconstruction along with Terminal Transition in Randomly Divided Planes

  • This paper proposes an efficient method of reconstructing interconnections when the terminals of each plane change in real-time situations where randomly divided planes are interconnected. To connect all terminals when the terminals of each plane are changed, we usually reconstruct the interconnections between all terminals. This ensures a minimum connection length, but it takes considerable time to reconstruct the interconnection for the entire terminal. This paper proposes a solution to obtain an optimal tree close to the minimum spanning tree (MST) in a short time. The construction of interconnections has been used in various design-related areas, from networks to architecture. One of these areas is an ad hoc network that only consists of mobile hosts and communicates with each other without a fixed wired network. Each host of an ad hoc network may appear or disappear frequently. Therefore, the heuristic proposed in this paper may expect various cost savings through faster interconnection reconstruction using the given information in situations where the connection target is changing.

An Indoor Localization Algorithm based on Improved Particle Filter and Directional Probabilistic Data Association for Wireless Sensor Network

  • As an important technology of the internetwork, wireless sensor network technique plays an important role in indoor localization. Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) problem has a large effect on indoor location accuracy. A location algorithm based on improved particle filter and directional probabilistic data association (IPF-DPDA) for WSN is proposed to solve NLOS issue in this paper. Firstly, the improved particle filter is proposed to reduce error of measuring distance. Then the hypothesis test is used to detect whether measurements are in LOS situations or NLOS situations for N different groups. When there are measurements in the validation gate, the corresponding association probabilities are applied to weight retained position estimate to gain final location estimation. We have improved the traditional data association and added directional information on the original basis. If the validation gate has no measured value, we make use of the Kalman prediction value to renew. Finally, simulation and experimental results show that compared with existing methods, the IPF-DPDA performance better.

  • 본 연구에서는 초등학교 3학년 학생들을 대상으로 Lesh 표상 변환 모델을 적용한 RNP 교재의 사용이 분수에 대한 아동의 개념 이해와 문제 해결력에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보았다. RNP 교재의 사용은 아동들의 분수에 대한 개념적 이해를 향상시켰을 뿐 아니라 그들의 문제해결 능력 또한 향상시켰다. RNP 교재가 제공하는 다양한 구체적 조작 활동 및 표상 변환 활동을 통해서 아동들은 등분할로서의 분수의 개념에 대한 이해를 더욱 명확히 하였고, 개념적 이해를 토대로 다양한 문제 상황에서 적절한 문제 해결 전략을 사용하여 문제를 해결하였다. 특히, 후속 학습 내용인 분수의 크기 비교에 관한 문제 상황에서 아동들은 선행 학습 과정에서 만들어진 심상이나 수학적 경험을 토대로 올바른 추론 과정을 보여주었다.

Effects of Simulation-based Learning on Stress, Problem Solving Ability, Self-Efficacy, and Resilience of College Nursing Students

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to explore the effects of the simulation-based learning program on stress, problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, and resilience of final-year nursing students in a college in South Korea. Methods: The design of the study was a one-group pretest-posttest. The participants of this study were final-year nursing students in 2018. A total of 105 students completed it. The intervention was an 8-week simulation-based practice course. The primary and secondary outcome measures were baseline and follow-up questionnaires regarding demographic factors, stress, problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, and resilience. Results: Problem-solving ability (t=6.567, p<.001), self-efficacy in four situations (p<.001) and resilience (t=2.352, p=.021) increased after simulation-based learning than before learning. Stress also increased after simulation-based learning compared to before learning (t=5.960, p<.001). The level of stress, self-efficacy, and resilience were mainly related to participants' satisfaction with their clinical placement, and interpersonal relationships (p<.05). Conclusions: Simulation-based learning is expected to improve nursing students' problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, and resilience. This can lead to induce learning motivation of nursing students, improve their coping strategies for solving problems, and ultimately provide high-quality care.

  • 소프트웨어교육은 학습자로 하여금 문제의 해결책을 정보처리 체계에 의해 효과적으로 처리되도록 문제를 구성하고 자신의 사고를 제시할 수 있는 컴퓨팅 사고력 증진을 목표로 하고 있다. 더욱이 이 컴퓨팅 사고력이 발현되는 문제해결의 장이 실제적인 사회적 맥락 속에서 의미 있는 문제해결의 경험을 제공해 줄 때 더 바람직한 소프트웨어교육이 될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어교육에서 구체적인 결과물을 볼 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있는 교육용 로봇을 활용하여 학습자가 몰입하여 해결할 수 있는 사회적 문제 상황 속에서 로봇과 프로그래밍을 결합하여 동료들과 함께 문제를 해결할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 로봇기반 SW융합수업을 초등학교 4학년 학생을 대상으로 운영하고 그 효과를 컴퓨팅 사고력과 사회적 역량(협업능력과 의사소통능력) 측면에서 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 초등교육 현장에서 사회적 맥락을 가진 문제해결상황에서 컴퓨팅 사고력을 배양할 수 있는 교육용로봇기반 SW융합수업 사례를 제공하고, 이 수업의 효과성을 컴퓨팅 사고력과 사회적 역량의 관점에서 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
