This review was performed to outline the food ethics to the professionals in the field of food science and industries. Food ethics is the ethics or ethical consideration concerning food; while, the keywords of food ethics are a life, happiness and the wisdom. The ultimate goal as well as the first principle of food ethics is a sustainable living of human race. In order to reach the goal a coexistence of humans and nature, coexistence of humans and humans, and the fulfillment of essential requirements of a food are needed. The needs yield six categorical imperatives such as a respect for life, preservation of nature, distributive justice without deception or fakes, prior consideration of consumer, moderation and balance neither overs nor shorts, and the assurance of safety. The core principles corresponding to the categorical imperatives include a respect for life, environmental preservation, justice, priority of consumer, dynamic equilibrium, and the priority of safety. The core principles approach is a simple, clear, and practical method in solving ethical issues. The code of food ethics is also based on the core principles.

The purpose of this study is examining the status of Education Welfare Priority Support Project and providing constructive strategies for future direction. In order to collect data, we have used on-line survey, in-depth interview personnels in charge of 17 school districts and open forum with municipal board members of education along with related literature review. As results, since 2003, the effectiveness of the Education Welfare Priority Support Project has been proved and the areas have been expanded. Furthermore, institutional stability has been confirmed along with the supports of enforcement ordinance of the Elementary and Secondary Education Acts and Ministry of Education Ordinances. However, since the management authority of the project has transferred to 17 provincial offices of education, it shows the tendency of that the overall programs were not fully activated and gradually stagnated. According to these issues, we proposed various implemental policy suggestions though the revision of Article 28 of elementary and secondary education-related law.

Objectives : In this paper, we proposed a method to comprehensively examine the roles of medical insurance review nurses' by analyses of task importance and task performance. Methods : For the analyses, we used the responsesof 268 nurses who completed a questionnaire for members of the Medical Insurance Review Nurses Association in 2015, and analyzed task importance and task performance using the IPA method and the standard task guide. Results : There were significant differences in task importance and task performance according to task position. In the category of 'Keep up the good work,' 'Calculate benefit standard' was indicated only in administrative positions, and in the category of 'Concentrate here,' 'Manage hospital resources' and 'Process after appeal results' was demonstrated only in general positions. There were differences in the 'Low priority' and 'Possible overkill' categories by task performance according to task position. Conclusions : Our results indicate the necessity of a new education system and task reassignment according to task importance and task performance as perceived by medical insurance review nurses.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of current difference of education needs for instructional competency of lifelong education instructor and the level of importance of lifelong education for drawing priority. Through the literature review, this is divided the lifelong education instructor's competencies such as planning, implementation, management and support and analyzed the current level and importance with 35 items through t-test analysis. The priority for education needs is applied to Borich and the Locus for Focus model simultaneously. According to result for study, the largest item of competency for lifelong education instructor is verified with the current level and importance for building of social networking and managing competency. The top priority item of education needs for instructional competency of lifelong education instructor is located in the first quadrant of model and the Locus for Focus model, according to priority in needs for Borich and was showed in program competency. The second items in priority were derived by learning resources, information gathering, competency for focus development, equitable evaluation for student, competency for building team work. Therefore, these competencies are considered as factors for priority of lifelong instructor and will be developed in personal and organizational development.

After the collapse of the Seongsu Bridge in the 1990s in Korea, attention was focused on the maintenance of facilities. The government has established various policies since the enactment of the Act in 1995 until recently. In general, safety inspections are performed to evaluate the safety grade of facilities, and facilities are maintained and managed by performing repairs and reinforcements for defects. However, since the budget is limited, it is impossible to carry out repair and reinforcement projects for all defects. It is necessary to prioritize repair and reinforcement measures. Then, the priority index (PI) is presented considering the importance of members, the seriousness of defects, and economic feasibility. In this index, the degree of influence can be adjusted within the range of 50 to 100% according to the expert's subjective judgment, and the same weight is set for some specific members. Also, the effect through repair and reinforcement is not taken into account decisively, and most of them have a limit in which priority is determined by economic feasibility. Therefore, in this study, through several case studies, problems with the priority index were reviewed and an equation was presented to improve them.

As systems for real time computer vision are confronted with prodigious amounts of visual information, it has become a priority to locate and analyze just that information essential to the task at hand, while ignoring the vast flow of irrelevant detail. A method of achieving this is to using human visual attention mechanism. In this paper, short review of human visual attention mechanisms and some computation models of visual attention were shown. This paper can be used as the basic data for researches on development of visual attention system that can perform various complex tasks more efficiently.

The purpose of this study is to present models for evaluation and selection of DataBase Management Systems(DBMS) suppliers. The major concern of management is that most decision problems have multiple, usually conflicting, criteria. The fuzzified multiple-objective programming models are given to accomodate the aspiration level and satisfaction level of decision makers. The proposed models are classified into two types, that is, pre-emptive priority and interpolated non-membership function model. Numerical examples illustrating each type of model are presented and the implications of these models are discussed.

Growing evidence suggests a prominent role for leptin in human cancer progression. The intricate pattern of leptin cross-talk with other associated signaling pathways is a critical area of research that will ultimately contribute to comprehending the role of leptin in cancer progression. This review summarizes a portion of the current understanding of leptin signaling, with a critical focus on its contribution to tumor cell invasion and metastasis. Five topics are addressed in this review: (1) Leptin receptor, (2) Leptin signaling, (3) Leptin and cancer, and (4) Leptin and tumor invasion. Due to the complex cellular effects of leptin, a more precise understanding of leptin signaling pathways must still be elucidated. Leptin is clearly a major factor for stimulating tumor progression through a complex spectrum of interplay and cross-talk among various signaling molecules. An understanding of the role of leptin in invasion and metastasis will provide valuable information for establishing strategies to modulate leptin signaling, which should be a high priority for the development of anti-cancer therapeutics.
