  • LSM is widely used as a cathode material in SOFC, because of its high electrochemical activity, good stability and compatibility with YSZ electrolyte at high temperature. However, LSM in traditional cathode materials will not generate a satisfactory performance at intermediate temperature. In order to reduce the polarization resistance of cell with the operating temperature of SOFC system, the cathode material of LSCF is one of the most suitable electrode materials because of its high mixed ionic and electronic conductivity. In this report, cathode material, $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_3$ powder for intermediate temperature SOFC was synthesized by Pechini method using the starting materials such as nitrate of La, Sr, Co and Fe including ethylene glycol, etc. As a result, the synthesized powder that calcined above $700^{\circ}C$ exhibits successfully perovskite structure, indicating phase-pure of LSCF. Moreover, the particle size, surface area, crystal structure and morphology of the synthesized oxide powders were characterized by SEM, XRD, and BET, etc. In order to evaluate the electrochemical performance for the synthesized powder, slury mixture using the synthesized cathode material was coated by screen-printing process on the anode-supported electrolyte which was prepared by a tape casting method and co-sintering. Finally, electrochemical studies of the SOFC unit cell, including measurements such as power density and impedance, were performed.

  • Flexural and splitting strength behavior of conventional concrete can significantly be improved by incorporating the fibers in it. A significant number of research studies have been conducted on various types of fibers and their influence on the tensile capacity of concrete. However, as an important property, tensile capacity of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is not modelled properly. Therefore, this paper intends to formulate a model based on experiments that show the relationship between the fiber properties such as the aspect ratio (length/diameter), fiber content, compressive strength, flexural strength and splitting strength of FRC. For the purpose of modeling, various FRC mixes only with steel fiber are adopted from the existing research papers. Automated neural network search (ANS) is then developed and used to investigate the effect of input parameters such as fiber content, aspect ratio and compressive strength to the output parameters of flexural and splitting strength of FRC. It is found that the ANS model can be used to predict the flexural and splitting strength of FRC in a sensible precision.

  • A thick film catalytic gas sensors which can be operated at $142^{\circ}C$ in presence of ultra violet-light emitting diode has been developed to measure hydrogen concentration in 0-5 % range. The sensing material as a combustion catalyst consists of $TiO_{2}$ (5 wt%) and Pd/Pt (20 wt%) supported on $Al_{2}O_{3}$ powder and the reference material to compensate the heat capacity of it in a bridge circuit was an catalyst free $Al_{2}O_{3}$ powder. Platinum heater and sensor materials were formed on the alumina plate by screen printing method and heat treatment. The effect of UV radiation in the presence of photo catalyst $TiO_{2}$ on the sensor sensitivity, response and recovery time has been investigated. The reduction of operating temperature from $192^{\circ}C$ to $142^{\circ}C$ for hydrogen gas sensing property in presence of UV radiation is attributed to the hydroxy radical and superoxide which was formed at the surface of $TiO_{2}$ under UV radiation.

  • This study is about the effect from properties of coated paper and ink dispersion to the printed mottle. Ink receptivity would be expected that it is mainly effected by roughness of coated paper Because the transfer of ink can not be uniform with rough surface, it will cause the optical appearance such like printed mottle. And also it may be able to cause the printed mottle from uneven transfer of ink due to absorption property of based paper, depend on size degree, by using dampening in Off-set printing. Each different specific of surface and ink dispersion could cause printed mottle. Therefore this study was carried out by using densitometer and image analysis to show the interaction between properties of domestic coated paper and ink dispersion.

  • Printed electronics based on the direct writing of solution processable functional materials have been of paramount interest and importance. In this talk, the synthesis of printable inorganic functional materials (conductors and semiconductors) for thin-film transistors (TFTs) and photovoltaic devices, device fabrication based on a printing technique, and specific characteristics of devices are presented. For printable conductor materials, Ag ink is designed to achieve the long-term dispersion stability and good adhesion property on a glass substrate, and Cu ink is sophisticatedly formulated to endow the oxidation stability in air and even aqueous solvent system. The both inks were successfully printed onto either polymer or glass substrate, exhibiting the superior conductivity comparable to that of bulk one. In addition, the organic thin-film transistor based on the printed metal source/drain electrode exhibits the electrical performance comparable to that of a transistor based on a vacuum deposited Au electrode. For printable amorphous oxide semiconductors (AOSs), I introduce the noble ways to resolve the critical problems, a high processing temperature above $400^{\circ}C$ and low mobility of AOSs annealed at a low temperature below $400^{\circ}C$. The dependency of TFT performances on the chemical structure of AOSs is compared and contrasted to clarify which factor should be considered to realize the low temperature annealed, high performance AOSs. For photovoltaic application, CI(G)S nanoparticle ink for solution processable high performance solar cells is presented. By overcoming the critical drawbacks of conventional solution processed CI(G)S absorber layers, the device quality dense CI(G)S layer is obtained, affording 7.3% efficiency CI(G)S photovoltaic device.

  • Using flexible bismaleimide-triazine co-polymer as a substrate, inkjet-printed Cu films were also investigated for low-cost and process feasibility of flexible electronics. After annealing at $200^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under various reducing ambient, surface color was changed to red and electrical resistivity was decreased to the level of conductor under formic acid ambient. However, its resistivity was much higher than conventional copper films due to surface crack. In order to reduce the residual film stress after annealing, additional isothermal treatment was inserted before anneal hiring the stress relaxation applied in processes of amorphous materials. As a result, no surface crack was observed and electrical resistivity of $3.4{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ was measured after annealing at $230^{\circ}C$ with stress relaxation while electrical resistivity of $7.4{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ was observed after normal annealing without relaxation. The effect of stress relaxation was also confirmed by observing surface crack after decreasing the relaxation time to 0 min.

  • We discuss the influence of few-walled carbon nanotubes (FWCNTs) treated with nitric acid and/or sulfuric acid on field emission characteristics. FWCNTs/tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) thin film field emitters were fabricated by a spray method using FWCNTs/TEOS sol one-component solution onto indium tin oxide (ITO) glass. After thermal curing, they were found tightly adhered to the ITO glass, and after an activation process by a taping method, numerous FWCNTs were aligned preferentially in the vertical direction. Pristine FWCNT/TEOS-based field emitters revealed higher current density, lower turn-on field, and a higher field enhancement factor than the oxidized FWCNTs-based field emitters. However, the unstable dispersion of pristine FWCNT in TEOS/N,N-dimethylformamide solution was not applicable to the field emitter fabrication using a spray method. Although the field emitter of nitric acid-treated FWCNT showed slightly lower field emission characteristics, this could be improved by the introduction of metal nanoparticles or resistive layer coating. Thus, we can conclude that our spray method using nitric acid-treated FWCNT could be useful for fabricating a field emitter and offers several advantages compared to previously reported techniques such as chemical vapor deposition and screen printing.

  • The crystallized stable cobalt silicide$(CoSi_2)$ films were prepared on $poly-Si/SiO_2/Si$substrates for the application of inkjet printing head as a heating element with omega shape. The structural images and temperature resistance coefficient were investigated. The value of temperature resistance coefficient of the heating element was found to be about $0.0014/^{\circ}C$. The maximum power of the heating element was 2 W at the applied voltage of 2 V, 10 kHz in frequency and $1{\mu}s$ in pulse width. From the investigation of fatigue property according to the repeated applied voltages, there was no drastic changes in the resistances of heating element under the condition of $10^8$ pulsed cycles at below 15 V biased voltage. In contrast, the resistance of heating element was greatly increased at $10^6$ pulsed cycles when the heating element was operated at 17 V.

  • We aim to develop the breast bolus by using a 3D printer to minimize the air-gap, and compare it to commercial bolus used for patients undergoing reconstruction in breast cancer. The bolus-shaped region of interests (ROIs) were contoured at the surface of the intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) thorax phantom with 5 mm thickness, after which the digital imaging and communications in mdicine (DICOM)-RT structure file was acquired. The intensity-modulated radiation therapy (Tomo-IMRT) and direct mode (Tomo-Direct) using the Tomotherapy were established. The 13 point doses were measured by optically stimulated luminescence (OSLD) dosimetry. The measurement data was analyzed to quantitatively evaluate the applicability of 3D bolus. The percentage change of mean measured dose between the commercial bolus and 3D-bolus was 2.3% and 0.7% for the Tomo-direct and Tomo-IMRT, respectively. For air-gap, range of the commercial bolus was from 0.8 cm to 1.5 cm at the periphery of the right breast. In contrast, the 3D-bolus have occurred the air-gap (i.e., 0 cm). The 3D-bolus for radiation therapy reduces the air-gap on irregular body surface that believed to help in accurate and precise radiation therapy due to better property of adhesion.

  • NiO-doped $WO_3$ thick films were prepared by a screen printing technique. The electrical Property and microstructure of the films were investigated with the partial pressure of oxygen and the amount of NiO. The grain size of NiO-doped $WO_3$ was smaller than that of undoped $WO_3$ but the grain sixte of 0.1, 1, 10 mol% NiO-doped$ WO_3$ were nearly the same. The electrical conductance of the $WO_3$ thick films decreased with the oxygen partial pressure, and increased with the amount of NiO to the limit of solid solution. The variation of the electrical conductance with temperature is not so large in the extrinsic region, but it changed rapidly in the intrinsic region. The conductance decreased with adsorption of oxygen in the intermediate range between the extrinsic and intrinsic region.
