Training for mothers and children first included information on water, ground, and air pollution, saving energy, and reducing trash. In the second phase, the family followed steps outlined in an environmental preservation guidebook. The experiment was of 16 weeks duration, conducted with 120 subjects, comprised of sixty 4-year-old children and their mothers. Measures included environmental preservation knowledge and the actual practice of environmental preservation on the part of the subjects. Mothers performed self-evaluations while teachers measured the children. SPSS was used for data collection and analysis. The results of this study indicate that the program increased perceptions on environmental preservation and the actual practice of the experimental group. The program application also resulted in meaningful co-relationships between perceptions and practice and between mothers and their children.

This study started as an effort to solve the serious environmental program that the Korean government and internationally focused on. For the purpose of the study, a green based growth education program was composed that young children could participate in. With this program, the study participants could form attitudes, behavior, and knowledge of environmental preservation. To see the effectiveness of the green growth educational program, the study set up a control and an experimental group. The program was composed with four major content 'ecosystem', 'energy', 'resource', and 'green citizenship'. The study planned 20 sessions including fairy tales, storytelling, art, game, and science activities. The study's participants were a total of 42 five-year-old children. The result of the research showed that the experimental group's environmental preservation knowledge, attitude, and behavior score was significantly higher than the control group. The green growth educational program had a positive effect on young children's knowledge, attitude, and behavior of environmental preservation. This study included the realities of the difficulties applying green growth education in kindergarten, the result provided practical information regarding the green growth educational program to kindergarten teachers.

This study was carried out to develop the educational program which can be used in the university library or archives to their students under an aspect that each individual should preserve own personal archives themselves. Based on precedent studies and foreign cases, a survey study on preservation of digital personal archives for the university students was carried out. The educational program of preservation reflected conditions of the undergraduates attending Pusan national university. The educational program is dealt with a total of seven contents including awareness-raising, creation methods, managements methods, selection of archives, construction of preservation folder, construction of preservation copy, and the management of preservation copy.

Recent efforts to systematically transfer older materials from local library collections to preserve in a cooperative preservation facility, such as regional main library, are being made in each region. The study, in this regard, sheds light the regional preservation program, as it identifies status of preservation in local libraries and analyze the opinions of librarians in order to illustrate the planning process of regional preservation program. Based on the data about preservation status of public library in Busan metro area, the study focused on the strategies to operate a cooperative preservation program for public libraries. Specifically, 1) it investigates the preservation status of public library in Busan area and the librarians' opinion on a cooperative preservation facility in Busan library. 2) It adds a proposal composed with a materials transfer strategy and a space management program.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of operating the Direct Payment Program for Rural Landscape Preservation and to derive the way of improvement based on case study for three areas in Bonghwa-gun, Cheongwon-gun, Hongseong-gun. The most important factor for the program is farmer's consciousness and positive participation of the farmer who are the subject of this project. Even if farmers are not satisfied with the amount of direct payment income, they try to create income by utilizing landscape preservation crops. Particularly current unit payment dose not surpass the for the crops farm operating costs and payment time is not appropriate for the farming cycle. Hence, it needs to be considered increasing unit payment and rearranging the payment time. Also, we need to introduce incentive system based the degree of fulfillment of the Direct Payment Program in each areas. In general the Direct Payment Program for Rural Landscape Preservation has potentiality to contribute farmer's income stability and the vitalization of region with three revisions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of environmental education program for rural housewives on their recognition and practice in environmental preservation. The subjects of this study were 300 rural housewives(education group : 150, non-education group : 150) living in Chung-buk province. The environmental education program was conducted to the education group three times from August to October,1995. After the program was completed, questionaires were distributed to the education group and the non-education group to identify changes in their recognition and practice in environmental preservation.

The purpose of this study is to examine the characters and sustainability of built heritage featured in the eight-scenery listings of Gyeonggi municipalities in South Korea. Eight scenery is a place marketing medium that reflects the community's appreciation of the selected resources. For a research method, we utilize framework analysis to understand the cultural resources in three categories: heritage value identification, preservation, and dissemination. Primary sources for data collection include the chosen eleven cities' eight-scenery webpages, the National Cultural Heritage Portal, and articles about the built heritage resources included in the eight scenery. The results of this study show the public's acknowledgment of diverse built heritage, from prestigious monuments to local heritage interpretations, and various preservation and public program development approaches. The conclusion discusses the research findings regarding historic preservation, sustainable development, and place marketing.

The purpose of this research is to provide suggestions to develop a cooperative preservation and utilization program suitable for domestic circumstances. To accomplish the purpose of this research, an in-depth study was conducted parallel to surveys and focus group interviews. The study found that a high number of KESLI members recognizes the necessity of the cooperative preservation and utilization of print journals. The study also provides suggestions for the successful development and operation of the cooperative preservation center for print journals-the development of councils, the ownership of journals, the scope of journals to be collected, and the form of the national preservation center. The results of the study will be utilized as the model for the cooperative preservation and utilization of print journals suitable for Korean circumstances.

This study explores the education of historic preservation in the United States. The research examined its history and philosophical and practical approaches within the American urban context, from its historical backgrounds to evolving social perspectives. This case study is to help collegiate educators in understanding the principles of American architectural heritage conservation and why it has been developed in specific directions and, ultimately, to assist in designing preservation education programs for different local contexts. Historic preservation in the United States has been integrated into the architecture and urban planning field as a sustainable development approach incorporating physical, social, and economic matters. First, this study explored the development of the preservation profession, policies, and education since the 1930s. Second, the researchers investigated the three fundamentals of historic preservation, such as authenticity, documentation, and community engagement. Lastly, this research discussed that American preservation deals with living communities and seeks interdisciplinary approaches. The understanding of historic preservation pedagogy from these multiple perspectives would hopefully provide a guide to developing cultural heritage education programs.
