Awareness and Preference for Korean Food Products in Malaysia (말레이시아 소비자의 한국식품 인지도 및 선호도 분석)

  • This study examined the potential of export items in Malaysia by investigating the awareness and preference for Korean food products. A high potential product list developed from the literature, included reports about the food export status in Korea and Malaysian food trends. An online survey was carried out with 600 consumers in Malaysia. With 435 valid responses, the average awareness of the Korean food products was 3.13, and the preference was 3.48 on a 5-point scale. The awareness and preference of Korean food products were higher in the 20s-30s group than in the older groups. In particular, the Muslim group had a higher awareness for 'ramyon' than the other groups, and the Buddhist group had a higher preference for 'ginseng beverage' than the other groups. The most well-known and preferred products were ramyon, hot noodles, kimchi, biscuits, fruits & vegetable beverage, and sauce (with Korean traditional sauce)'. Based on these results, the marketing implications of the study findings are discussed.

A Study on the Awareness of User s to Avatar Characters in the Cyberspace (가상공간의 아바타 캐릭터에 대한 사용자의 인식조사)

  • This study is focused on user awareness of avatar character in the cyber space. The purpose of this study is to investigate user preference toward avatar and test their awareness on it. The awareness of avatar is based on the applied degree of self-awareness, and also analyzed by factors using 3 elements such as loyalty, value and confidence in Maurice Wagner's study but self-projection was added to these three variables. The result shows that there is no significant statistical difference among response groups for age and sex classification but the preference and the value variables are significantly dependent on sex and age, respectively. There are strong correlation among each response variables for the awareness of avatar character and the loyalty and the preference variables are mostly correlated. The regression analysis shows that the preference of avatar is mostly affected by loyalty and thus the self awareness of avatar in the Cyberspace is proportional to user preference. It is shown that users do not awareness an avatar as a visual image but identify their avatar as an another selfness since they project themselves into those avatars.

Brand Preference and Performance of Domestic and Imported Fashion Accessary Brands (국내 및 해외 유명 잡화 브랜드의 선호도와 성과에 대한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to identify brand equity factors influencing brand preference and to investigate the effects of preference and other factors on brand performance of domestic and imported fashion accessary(handbag, shoes, purse, etc.) brands. A total of 300 women aged between 20 and 49 years were surveyed during the month of September, 2006, on 2 domestic brands and 2 imported brands that were well-known to consumers. The data were analyzed with factorial analysis, multiple regression analysis, ANOVA, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, etc., using the SPSS 10.0. The result of research showed: 1) Four factors of brand equity were identified: quality, awareness, image, and trust. 2) Quality, awareness, price acceptability, distribution proximity, and brand performance of the domestic brands were higher than those of the imported brands. But brand preference of the imported brands was higher than that of the domestic brands. 3) Brand preference of the domestic brands was affected by quality, awareness, image, and trust. And brand performance of the domestic brands was affected by appropriateness, brand preference, and distribution proximity. 4) Brand preference of the imported brands was affected by image, quality, awareness, and trust. And brand performance of the imported brands was affected by price acceptability, appropriateness, and distribution proximity.

A Convergence Study on the Changes of Awareness and Preference according to the Clinical Application Experience of Digital Intraoral Scanners in Dental Hygienists (디지털 구강스캐너 임상적용 경험에 따른 치과위생사의 인지도 및 선호도 변화에 관한 융합연구)

  • This study aimed to determine the changes of awareness and preference of dental hygienists according to the experience of using a digital intraoral scanner through a convergence study. Data collected by an online survey for dental hygienists in Busan, Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk were analyzed by SPSS 24.0 program. When dental hygienists had an experience of using a digital intraoral scanner, the awareness and preference of digital intraoral scanners were significantly higher. The experience of using a digital intraoral scanner showed a positive correlation with the clinical application experience of digital intraoral scanners; the clinical application experience of digital intraoral scanners, with the awareness of digital intraoral scanners; and the awareness of digital intraoral scanners, with the preference of digital intraoral scanners. In conclusion, the dental hygienist's experience in clinical application of digital intraoral scanners is expected to increase the awareness and preference, resulting in the improvement of dental hygienists' work ability. Therefore, it is believed that continuous education and learning about digital oral scanners are needed.

  • Hangwha is a part of our traditional culture; however, it is now barely maintaining its name. This study intends to contribute to the development of the Hanghwa industry. In this respect, 'Brand Image' is adopted to suggest the ways to develop the Hangwha industry. Commercializing factors that consumers prefer were analyzed and their effects on brand image were investigated. In addition, the effects of brand image on consumers' awareness and preference were analyzed. This research conducted analysis on 294 people who have used Hangwha in Busan and Gyeongsangnamdo. The results of this empirical study are as follows: It turned out that Hangwha influences the society-oriented and consumer-oriented brand image. Its quality-oriented image has influence on awareness. Its society-oriented and quality-oriented brand image turned out to influence preference.

Awareness and Sensory Properties of Samgyetang for Chinese (중국인의 삼계탕에 대한 인지도 및 관능적 특성)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the awareness and preference regarding Korean Samgyetang by the Chinese. An online survey was conducted to determine the awareness regarding Korean Samgyetang among the local Chinese, and a consumer preference test was performed to design the recipe of Samgyetang for Chinese students in Korea during April 2016. The results of the online survey showed that 88.2 % and 88.4 % of local Chinese men and women, respectively, were aware of Korean Samgyetang. Samgyetang recognition by the local residents of China was the highest in the Hubei region that includes Beijing. Traditional Samgyetang received the highest preference and Samgyetang with mung bean received the lowest preference in the preference test based on the Samgyetang type. In consumer preference tests among Chinese students, Samgyetang with broth of chicken feet (Sample-1) and Samgyetang with medicinal herbs (Sample-3) showed high acceptability than Samgyetang in water (Sample-2) in terms of the overall sensory properties. According to the results of the electronic tongue, Sample-1 showed a high value in terms of the strength of the saltiness and Sample-3 showed a high value in terms of the strength of bitterness and sweetness. Sample-2 showed a high value in terms of the strength of umami and sourness.

  • This study aims to find out the influence of brand awareness and preference of collaboration products created by SPA and luxury brands using specific examples of collaborations, which are now becoming prevelent in the fashion industry. For this study, data collection was carried out through a distribution of 350 copies of the questionnaire, 333 responses were used for data analysis. Using a statistical package program with SPSS, a frequency analysis, a factor analysis, and a multiple regression analysis were conducted. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Awareness and preferences of the SPA and luxury brands lead collaboration products to be preferred. In addition, consumers happen to have more favorable attitudes regarding the purchase of collaboration products. This means that matching brands with high preference is a very important factor to create profits from the collaboration products as awareness and the preference are important factors for the success of projects. In particular, the recognition and preference of luxury brands was found to have greater impact on the preference and recognition of collaboration the SPA brands. Accordingly, brands should expand and actively collaborate through a variety of methods and support proper collaborations that fit their image.

Causal-effect Analysis of Brand Equity Factors in Contract Foodservice Management Company in College and University in Incheon Area (위탁급식 전문업체의 브랜드 자산 구성 요인간 인과 관계 분석 - 인천지역 일부 대학생을 대상으로 -)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to analyze the relationship between brand equity factors ie brand awareness, brand image, brand preference and brand loyalty and 2) to suggest the strategy for brand management of contract food service management company. The developed questionnaires were distributed to the college and university students in Incheon area from September 20 to September 24 in 2004. Total 198 questionnaires were used for the final data analysis with response rate of $82.5\%$. For the statistical analysis, the descriptive analysis, factor analysis, pearson correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted by using SPSS Win (10.0). The results of this study showed that the following 5 hypotheses were supported. Hypothesis 1: The brand awareness of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand image of that. Hypothesis 2: The brand image of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand preference of that. Hypothesis 3: The brand awareness of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand preference of that. Hypothesis 4: The brand preference of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand royalty of that. Hypothesis 5: The brand image of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand loyalty of that. As a conclusion, the brand awareness has a positive effect on the brand image and brand preference significantly, so it is recommended that the contract foodservice company should focus on improving the brand awareness as a brand strategy. And the brand preference and brand image have the significant effect on the brand loyalty. Therefore the company should strive to strengthen the brand loyalty though building brand preference and brand image, because the brand loyalty brings about the customer's more visiting the foodservices, which is directly related to the profitabilities of the contract foodservice management company.

  • To explore effects on each the emotional awareness, emotional expression, emotional empathy, and emotional regulation, of the sub-factors of the child's emotional intelligence, to mural preference, emotion cultivation, and community connection, the hierarchical multiple regression analyses are performed(as in Table 1, 2, and 3). As the results, we found the following facts. Children's mural preference, emotion cultivation, and community connection were expressed by the following equations in order, respectively. The result of the study included: 1) Four factors of brand equity were identified: brand image, social reputation, quality, and brand awareness. 2) Brand image, quality, appropriateness, and brand performance of the domestic brands were higher than those of the imported brands. But brand awareness of the imported brands was higher than that of the domestic brands. 3) Brand preference of the domestic brands was affected by social reputation, quality, brand image, and brand awareness in order of significance. And brand performance of the domestic brands was affected by brand preference, appropriateness, price acceptability and distribution proximity in order of significance. 4) Brand preference of the imported brands was affected by brand image, social reputation, brand awareness, and quality in order of significance. And brand performance of the imported brands was affected by appropriateness, price acceptability, brand preference, and distribution proximity in order of significance.
