Purpose: This study investigated factors related to empowerment of paramedic students. Methods: A total of 208 students in the department of emergency medical services who experienced clinical practice at 5 universities were selected by convenience sampling methods. Differences in empowerment by general and major-related characteristics were evaluated using a t-test and analysis of variance. The association between satisfaction with clinical practice and empowerment was tested using correlation coefficients. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to investigate the factors associated with empowerment. Results: The levels of overall satisfaction with clinical practice and empowerment were 107.48 and 99.46, respectively. In simple analysis, empowerment level was associated with general characteristics, major-related characteristics, characteristics of clinical practice, and satisfaction with clinical practice. Empowerment level was significantly higher in older subjects (${\beta}=5.282$, p = .023), subjects with very good (${\beta}=8.487$, p = .002) or fair (${\beta}=4.879$, p = .010) subjective health status, and high subjective school record (${\beta}=5.837$, p = .008) in multiple linear regression analysis. Satisfaction with clinical practice was positively associated with empowerment (${\beta}=0.250$, p < .001). Conclusion: Empowerment was associated with major-related factors and satisfaction with clinical practice. Increased satisfaction with clinical practice could positively influence empowerment for paramedic students.
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the satisfaction levels of education and clinical practice in the dental hygiene students and to provide the basic data for the improvement of satisfaction with major. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 487 dental hygiene students in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan. Data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 program. Results : Those who chose the dental hygiene by themselves tended to have higher satisfaction(p<0.05). Those who chose the major by teacher's advice tended to have higher satisfaction for the clinical practice(p<0.05). The satisfaction level between the education and clinical practice was equally proportional to each other. Multiple regression test showed that the influencing factors on satisfaction level included major satisfaction and lecture satisfaction(p<0.05). Conclusions : Satisfaction with the major influenced on the clinical practice performance. More systematic approach for the better curricula can bestow the students satisfaction with the major in the future.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine factors influencing satisfaction with clinical practice in dental hygiene students. Through this study, we suggested efficient guidance to increase satisfaction levels with clinical practice. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 235 students of clinical dental hygiene in Seoul Gyeonggi Chungcheong Kyongsang and Jeolla province from June 9 to 30, 2017. The questionnaire consisted of questions on general characteristics (6 items), clinical practice characteristics (7 items), ego-resilience (14 items), family support (24 items), teaching effectiveness(35 items), and clinical practice satisfaction (30 items). Data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. One way ANOVA, the Scheffe Post-hoc test, and the Pearson correlation coefficients were reviewed, and a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Cronbach's alpha of ego-resilience, family support, teaching effectiveness, clinical practice satisfaction were 0.784, 0.892, 0.954 and 0.935, respectively. Results: ego-resilience was 3.24 points, family support was 3.24 points, teaching effectiveness was 2.93 points, clinical practice satisfaction 3.44 points. The meaningful variables which influenced clinical practice satisfaction were the ego-resilience, family support and teaching effectiveness. These factors explained 40.6% of the variance in clinical practice satisfaction. Conclusions: One of the most significant predictors of clinical practice satisfaction in dental hygiene students was teaching effectiveness. Therefore, a teaching program to improve eaching effectiveness should be developed and applied.

PURPOSE: This study sought to investigate the change in the satisfaction levels of healthcare students regarding clinical practice before and after the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak. METHODS: This was a longitudinal survey using a structured questionnaire. The first survey was conducted before the COVID-19 outbreak in April 2018, and the second survey was conducted after the outbreak from May to June 2022. The questionnaire used before and after COVID-19 had the same content and was categorized into the following six factors to determine clinical practice satisfaction: practice guidance, practice environment, practice time, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationships, and effectiveness of practice. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 153 healthcare students (average age: 22.43 ± 1.47 years old), participated from 4 departments: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene. After COVID-19, 84 students (average age: 22.75 ± 2.87 years old), from the physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and dental hygiene departments participated in the survey. RESULTS: Clinical practice satisfaction was evaluated considering the factors of practical guidance, practice environment, practice time, interpersonal relationships, and practical effects. It was observed that the satisfaction with clinical practice increased in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene students after COVID-19 compared to the situation before the outbreak. There was no difference seen in the practice time and practice evaluation factors in the occupational therapy department and in the practice time factor in the dental hygiene department before and after COVID. CONCLUSION: In clinical practice under the extremely constrained circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that the emotional internal response is greater, and the satisfaction with clinical practice appears to be relatively higher than before the outbreak.

Objectives: This study was carried out to provide basic materials to draw up measures for courses operation and effective clinical practice operation for the cultivation of future effective problem solving ability by identifying the relationship between problem solving ability and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students. Methods: This study targeted 215 dental hygiene students from 3 universities located in Gyeonggi-do from November 30 to December 4, 2015. We analyzed the data with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test. One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, Regression analysis by using SPSS. Results: Clinical practice satisfaction between grades according to the general characteristics of the study subjects was analyzed and as a result, clinical practice satisfaction showed a significant difference depending on grade (t=-2.355, p=.019), major satisfaction(F=9.548, p=.000), health status(F=4.909, p=.008). The problem solving ability according to the general characteristics of the study subjects was compared and as a result, the problem solving ability score of students 'living apart from their family or living in lodgings' was found to be higher than that of students 'living with their family' (p=.023) and the problem solving ability of students who answered 'satisfied' with their major was higher than that of students who answered 'moderate' (p=.000). As the problem solving ability and major satisfaction are higher and health status is better, clinical practice satisfaction showed higher results (p<.01). Conclusions: The above results showed a correlation between the problem solving ability and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students and clinical practice satisfaction showed higher scores as the problem solving ability level was higher. Therefore, efforts to enhance dental hygiene students' clinical practice satisfaction are considered necessary by developing and providing a program to strengthen students' problem solving ability.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of achievement motivation and self concept on clinical practice satisfaction in the dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 206 dental hygiene students in Jeonnam from December to October, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of 6questions of general characteristics, 6 questions of achievement motivation, 18 questions of self concept, and 23 questions of clinical practice satisfaction. Cronbach's alpha was 0.881, 0.889, and 0.935 in achievement motivation, self concept, and clinical practice satisfaction, respectively. The data were analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Results: Clinical practice satisfaction showed a significant difference by grade(p<0.05), personality(p<0.05) and satisfaction of major(p<0.01). Clinical practice satisfaction had a positive correlation with achievement motivation(r=0.508, p<0.01) and self concept(r=0.324, p<0.01). Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that clinical practice satisfaction was related with achievement motivation(p<0.05) and self concept(p<0.01). Conclusions: The clinical practice satisfaction depends on achievement motivation and self concept. It is necessary to develop the program to improve satisfaction level of clinical practice by achievement motivation and self concept.
Purpose .This study aims to assess the influence factors on the level of satisfaction with hospital training and to provide basic data for more efficient hospital practice of students' public health administration . Methods . We have conducted a survey on students satisfaction with their hands on practice against 200 students in Busan, Kyeongnam and Kyungbook area, who have completed their practice in public health administration. We have identified the general characteristics of the target respondents, the current training status of the department for the hospital practice and training venue; also analyzed the characteristics composed of the apprentice student's attitude before the practice, satisfaction with the department training program and hospital for practice, as well as their practice at hospital. The general characteristics of the target respondents and clinic practice status at the hospital were measured in percentage and frequency analysis; the average and standard deviations of hospital size were also measured; and the correlations between satisfaction with the department, attitude towards the practice and satisfaction with the hospital were analyzed. Results . Most public health administration students experienced their practice at the hospital after the first semester on the $2^{nd}$year and they have received the foundation training for the practice. The survey allowed multiple responses and the results are as follows: medical terminology 49.5%, medical coordinator 36.7%, Hospital administration 26.5%, Health insurance 17.3%, and medical recording and practice 13.8% respectively. In terms of each individual student's attitude towards the practice at the hospital, the respondents answered as follows: I have completed the obligatory subjects for the practice before the practice 89.5%; I have been fully informed on the hospital for my practice. 74.5%; I responsibly practiced and worked with professionalism and sense of belonging to the hospital as a member of staff 90%; I have actively learned and adopted 95%; My knowledge and skills from the practice was relevant to the theory and practice from my course 83.5%. The findings of satisfaction by size of hospital were in order of a small clinic($3.24{\pm}0.63$), medium sized clinic($3.27{\pm}0.65$), hospital ($3.20{\pm}0.61$), and large sized comprehensive hospital ($2.93{\pm}0.74$). Consequently the satisfaction rate shows no significant difference by size of hospital. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with subject, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.04), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.33). the matter of active adaptation attitude during practice (p=0.42), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with the hospital for practice, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.01), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.04), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. Conclusion . The most essential subject for the practice in public health administration is medical terminology and there is no significance in satisfaction with the practice by size of hospital. Students were content with the hospital where they can experience as much as possible. Students content with their major show positive attitude towards the practice and so do those content with the hospital. Those with the positive attitude towards the practice show the high correlation of satisfaction with both the major and hospital. As a result, the satisfaction with the major is the significant attribute to the practice in the hospital.
In order to examine the characteristics having influence on the satisfaction with clinical practice for the effective clinical practice, this study analyzed the satisfaction with clinical practice in accordance with the characteristics of major practice conditions, targeting 228 students of Dental Hygienics with experience in clinical practice in Daegu and Gyeongbuk region. In case of 4-year major practical conditions, high satisfaction with major, when students could choose the hospital for practice, and when there were lots of dental hygienists in the hospital for practice, the satisfaction with clinical practice was high(p<.05). In case of 4-year course, high satisfaction with major, and when there were lots of dental hygienists in the hospital for practice, the satisfaction with clinical practice evaluation was high(p<.05). In case of 4-year major practical conditions, high satisfaction with major, dental hospital, when students could choose the hospital for practice, and when there were lots of dental hygienists in the hospital for practice, the satisfaction with interpersonal relation was high(p<.05). In case of 4-year course, high satisfaction with major, and when students and school could choose the hospital for practice, the satisfaction after practice was high(p<.05).
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between clinical practice stress, practice satisfaction, and nursing image of nursing students with experience of Gerontological nursing practice and to identify factors affecting nursing image. Data were collected from 150 nursing students from September 1 to 23, 2016 and analyzed using SPSS / Win 23.0. Results showed, practise stress was 3.13, satisfaction, 3.14 and nursing image, 3.32. Correlation analysis revealed that there was negative correlation between practice stress and practicec satisfaction, practice stress and nursing image, and a positive correlation between nursing image and practice satisfaction. Meanwhile, the factor affecting nursing image was practice satisfaction (${\beta}=.602$) and the explanatory power was 40%. Therefore, effective nursing education and practical strategies are needed to improve the nursing image and practice satisfaction of Gerontological nursing practice of nursing students.
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the clinical practice stress reduction and to improve clinical practice satisfaction in dental hygiene students. Methods : The subjects were 354 dental hygiene students in Gwangju and Jeonnam. A self-reported questionnaire was filled out from June 3 to 21, 2013. The questionnaire included stress management in the clinical practice. Results : As for clinical practice stress, there was a significant relevance between satisfaction in major and clinical practice. Clinical practice stress coping had a significant relevance to clinical practice satisfaction and clinical practice stress. Conclusions : In order to reduce clinical practice stress in dental hygiene students and to enhance clinical practice satisfaction, it is important to develop clinical practice stress management program and to develop the appropriate measurement tool for stress.
