Previous studies "Dong-uibogam(東醫寶鑑)" or "Dong-uisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)", Korean medical text written in the 16th/19th century, have focused mainly on his theories of Daoism and Neo-Confucianism or Post-Confucianism. This Study suggests that the "Dong-uibogam" and "Dong-uisusebowon" were the scholarly products of the Early Modern Neo-Confucians during the Joseon Dynasty period. These Early Modern Neo-Confucians ruled the dynasty rationally, and edited books on medical science, one of which were the "Dong-uibogam" or "Dong-uisusebowon". In these books, religious aspects of Daoism was excluded because these elements were not in agreement with medical science or Neo-Confucianism. The "Dong-uibogam" and "Dong-uisusebowon" were also translated into the Korean vernacular script based on an obligation to govern the people. This was example of Confucian enlightenment which was Early Modernity of "Dong-uibogam(東醫寶鑑)" or "Dong-uisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)" thought.

The present study is aimed to achieve dynamic visualization from the in-house 3-D stereoscopic PIV to represent quantitative flow information such as time-resolved 3-D velocity distribution, vorticity, turbulent intensity or Reynolds stresses and so on. One of the application of the present study is Leading edge extension(LEX) flow appearing on modern delta wing aircraft. The other is mixing flow in stirring tank used in industry field. LEX in a highly swept shape applied to a delta wing features the modern air-fighters. The LEX vortices generated upon the upper surface of the wing at high angle of attack enhance the lift force of the delta wing by way of increased negative suction pressure over the surfaces. The present method resolves also the complicated flow patterns of two type impellers rotating in stirring vessel. Flow quantities such as three velocity vector components, vorticity and other flow information can be easily visualized via the 3D time-resolved post-processing visualization. And it makes the easy understanding of the unsteady flow characteristics of the typical industrial mixers.

The purpose of this study present directions and a model of Christian ecological spirituality education in the post-corona era, and to expand Christian education beyond the private to the public. There are various problems in today's modern society. The 4th Industrial Revolution and COVID-19 has changed daily life and standards over the past few years As a result, the post-corona discourse is becoming more active. In this context, this study conducted a study on what educational alternatives should be prepared in terms of Christian education for the post-corona era. Especially, one of the urgent problems that modern society needs to solve today is the problem of the ecological environment, and I tried to prepare an alternative in perspective of Christian spiritual education. To this end, the causes of today's ecological environmental problems were examined in three perspectives: global, social, and personal. It could be summarized as the problems of neoliberal globalization, anthropocentrism, and ecological ignorance, respectively. To solve this, the direction of Christian ecological spirituality education was presented as the spirituality of participatory responsibility, the spirituality of ecocentrism, and the spirituality of ecological conversion. The specific model of Christian ecological spirituality education was established by presenting educational purposes and goals, educational methods and contents, educational environment and evaluation.

In this modern world of drastic change, folding architecture was an alternative that offered a novel architectural insight. Today, the folding technique is being used above and beyond architecture, spreading to fashion, lighting, medicine, etc. Especially in the interior space design field, the folding technique is in the limelight as an alternative to create an original space for modern society. However, research and experiments into folding mainly remains at philosophical interpretation or architectural examples, and even these were mostly before the 2000s. Therefore, the present study determined it necessary to look deeply into the post-2000s folding technique focusing on interior space. In this paper, 33 cases of indoor space where folding technique appears are derived, and classified them again by use. The folding technique which was the first step of Sophia Vyzoviti's experiment on her book, "Folding Architecture" was extracted and used as the framework. We summarizes the range of application of folding techniques (interior space in general, floor, wall, ceiling, etc.) and major folding techniques by combining photographs, drawings, and descriptions of the works of the architects. This paper summarizes the characteristics of the space described comprehensively, and draws out the spatial characteristics of the modern interior space where the folding technique appears.

Mendini works architect of magazine. He is a era-transcending designer who started design in late fifties and still works actively. In his design, there are some ordinary emotions which make people easier to approch to than without having any resistance. The purpose of this research paper is to define the traits of Mendini's design work. There are four main characters in his design; post-modernism, combination of art and design, use of contemporary art and traditionary italian colors and redesign. Mendini interpret tradition in modern way. His individuality came from the tradition, and also he modernized italian tradition to it.

The purpose of this thesis was twofold. First it explains the emergence of street styles and their inner meanings from its origin subculture group practices. Recent developments in cultural studies which approach cultural practices in a holistic way by incorporating socio-economic background offers us the concept of 'hegemonic relation' it explains why subcultural practices and street style in particular has weakened from 19080s as well as why in the post-subculture period we observe the 'superma-rketization' of styles and plethora of eclecticism instead of original ones. Street styles as a magical expression or resolution of socio-economic frustrations are anticipated to weaken significantly if not totally disappear in the post-modern era although it has become the original texts of high fashion.

The purpose of this study is, to renew understanding the aesthetic value of a ruff collar and to expand the border of creation in designing as the source of inspiration being applied to an retro style by inquiring various ruff collars re-illuminated in the present-day fashion trend. The ruff collar investigated through the above historical contemplation became the source of inspirations in the current retro trend and was variously modified in modern fashion. In the 1980s, we can find a dignified and feminine image in graceful and exquisite suits or dresses. Especially, the spanish round ruff of the 2st period appeared on works by a lot of designers. From the application by designers like John Galliano in the latter half of the 80s, we can be well aware that the meaning of decoration was newly altered. In the 1990s, the ruff collar was shown in various fashion style, but it was what was reborn as a factor of modern fashion through a liberal compromise and harmony. Various style was shown from exaggeratedly swelling one to smaller one, which were more diversely applied than that of the 80s. A Medici collar and a Queen Elizabeth collar were also displayed being fitted to a modern sense by Vivienne Westwood and Louis F raud. A ruff in the 2000s was settled as a factor of modern fashion, exposing on works of designers more often than in the 1980s and 90s. The spanish round ruff appeared on garments, while a Medici collar and a Queen Elizabeth collar went out of sight. A new form of the ruff was regenerated by extreme magnification and simplification, and several designers like Issey Miyake and Alexander Mcqueen brought forward a new way in materials and technical skills. According to this research, a ruff collar developed as a fashion factor which characterizes a certain period of time, reflecting the aesthetical sense of Renaissance and turning into various and distinct forms. Afterwards, it exerted influence on modern fashion. This is offering the source of inspiration to contemporary designers.

In this paper, experimental results were presented on the moment resistance of a concealed timber post base joint aimed at replacing in a modern design introduced lately the wood to wood joints used in the traditional Korean timber house - Hanok. Preliminary results showed that the original configuration of the joint offers a limited moment resistance and a low ductility and energy dissipation. In an attempt to mitigate those limitations without undergoing major changes in the connector, three new configurations were proposed and investigated. Motivated by the wish to prevent the early failure in welds, a first approach consists in directly bolting the connector's upper plate to lower the stress on the weak welds. Alternatively, another approach focused on increasing the strength of these welds by extending their length to the full width of the metal wings. Finally, a third configuration investigated the effect of those two approaches combined. In conclusion, reinforcing the welds found out to be the best option among the presented ones. As a result, this connector considered to show proper ability for use in earthquake-resistant structures with suited lateral-resistant structural elements.

A computational system for wave and viscous flow analysis (WAVIS) has been developed. The system includes a pre-processor, flow solvers and a post-processor. The pre-processor is composed of full form presentation, surface mesh and field grid generation. The flow solvers are for potential and viscous flow calculation. The post-processor has graphic utility for result analysis. All the programs are integrated in a GUI-launcher package. To validate the developed CFD programs of WAVIS, the calculated results for modern commercial hull forms are compared with measurements. It is found that the results from WAVIS are in good agreement with the experimental data, illustrating the accuracy of the numerical methods employed for WAVIS.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze characteristics of everyday movement showed in performances of Steve Paxton. A work of art has been realized as a special object enjoyed by high class people as high culture for a long time. Therefore, a gap between everyday life and art has been greatly existed, and the emergence of everyday elements in a work of art means that public awareness involving social change is changed. The postmodernism as the period when a boundary between art and everyday life is uncertain was a postwar society after the Second World War and a social situation that rapidly changes into a capitalistic society. Changes in this time made scholars gain access academically concepts related to everyday life, and affected artists as the spirit of the times of pluralistic postmodernism refusing totality. At the same period of the time, modern dance also faced a turning point as post-modern dance. After the Second World War, modern dance started to be evaluated as it reaches the limit, and at this juncture, headed by dancers including the Judson Dance Theatre. Acting as a dancer in a dance company of Merce Cunningham, Steve Paxton, one of founders of the Judson Dance Theatre, had a critical mind of the conditions of dance company with the social structure and the process that movement is made. This thinking is showed in early performances as an at tempt to realize everyday motion it self in performances. His early activity represented by a walking motion attracted attention as a simple motion that excludes all artful elements of existing dance performances and is possible to conduct by a person who is not a dancer. Although starting the use of everyday movement is regarded as an open characteristic of post-modern dance, advanced researches on this were rare, so this study started. In addition, studies related to Steve Paxton are skewed towards Contact Improvisation that he rose as an active practician. As the use of ordinary movement before he focused on Contact Improvisation, this study examines other attempts including Contact Improvisation as attempts after the beginning of his performances. Therefore, the study analyzes Satisfyin' Lover, Contact at 10th & 2nd and Bound that are performances of Steve Paxton, and based on this, draws everyday characteristics. In addition, related books, academic essays, dance articles and reviews are consulted to consider a concept related to everyday life and understand dance historical movement of post-modern dance. Paxton attracted attention because of his activity starting at critical approach of movement of existing modern dance. As walking of performers who are not dancers, a walking motion showed in Satisfyin' Lover gave esthetic meaning to everyday movement. After that, he was affected by Eastern ideas, so developed Contact Improvisation making a motion through energy of the natural laws. In addition, he had everyday things on his performances, and used a method to deliver various images by using mundane movement and impromptu gestures originating from relaxed body. Everyday movement of his performances represents change in awareness of performances of the art of dancing that are traditionally maintained including change of dance genre of an area. His activity with unprecedented attempt and experimentation should be highly evaluated as efforts to overcome the limit of modern dance.
