능동동조질량감쇠기와 수정 PPF 제어기를 이용한 구조물의 능동진동제어 (Active Vibration Control of Structure Using Active Tuned Mass Damper and Modified PPF Controller)

  • This paper is concerned with the active vibration control of building structure by means of the active tuned mass damper and the modified positive position feedback controller. To this end, one-degree-of-freedom spring-mass-damper system equipped with ATMD is considered. The stability condition for the addressed system when applying the proposed PPF controller is derived by Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion. The stability condition shows that the modified PPF controller is absolutely stable if the controller gain is positive. so that the modified PPF controller can be used without difficulty. Theoretical study shows that the modified PPF controller can effectively suppress vibrations as the original PPF controller does in smart structure applications. To investigate the validity of the modified PPF controller, a simple experimental structure with an ATMD system driven by DC motor was built. The modified PPF control algorithm was implemented on Atmel 128 microcontroller. The experimental result shows that the modified PPF controller can also suppress vibrations for the real structure.

Traffic Seasonality aware Threshold Adjustment for Effective Source-side DoS Attack Detection

  • In order to detect Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, victim-side detection methods are used popularly such as static threshold-based method and machine learning-based method. However, as DoS attacking methods become more sophisticated, these methods reveal some natural disadvantages such as the late detection and the difficulty of tracing back attackers. Recently, in order to mitigate these drawbacks, source-side DoS detection methods have been researched. But, the source-side DoS detection methods have limitations if the volume of attack traffic is relatively very small and it is blended into legitimate traffic. Especially, with the subtle attack traffic, DoS detection methods may suffer from high false positive, considering legitimate traffic as attack traffic. In this paper, we propose an effective source-side DoS detection method with traffic seasonality aware adaptive threshold. The threshold of detecting DoS attack is adjusted adaptively to the fluctuated legitimate traffic in order to detect subtle attack traffic. Moreover, by understanding the seasonality of legitimate traffic, the threshold can be updated more carefully even though subtle attack happens and it helps to achieve low false positive. The extensive evaluation with the real traffic logs presents that the proposed method achieves very high detection rate over 90% with low false positive rate down to 5%.

Bayesian hierarchical model for the estimation of proper receiver operating characteristic curves using stochastic ordering

  • Diagnostic tests in medical fields detect or diagnose a disease with results measured by continuous or discrete ordinal data. The performance of a diagnostic test is summarized using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and the area under the curve (AUC). The diagnostic test is considered clinically useful if the outcomes in actually-positive cases are higher than actually-negative cases and the ROC curve is concave. In this study, we apply the stochastic ordering method in a Bayesian hierarchical model to estimate the proper ROC curve and AUC when the diagnostic test results are measured in discrete ordinal data. We compare the conventional binormal model and binormal model under stochastic ordering. The simulation results and real data analysis for breast cancer indicate that the binormal model under stochastic ordering can be used to estimate the proper ROC curve with a small bias even though the sample sizes were small or the sample size of actually-negative cases varied from actually-positive cases. Therefore, it is appropriate to consider the binormal model under stochastic ordering in the presence of large differences for a sample size between actually-negative and actually-positive groups.

Economic Ripple Effect of the TKR on the Logistics Industry

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic ripple effect(ERE) of logistics industry by construction of Trans-Korea Railway (TKR) and present policy measures to minimize the economic loss of South Korea (SK). Research design, data and methodology: As the analysis method, exponential smoothing was used for demand forecasting, Input-Output analysis was used to estimate the economic ripple effect coefficient, and scenario analysis was used to an efficient way to invest in TKR to minimize SK's economic losses. Results: 1) the production(logistics fares) of TKR for 10 years after its completion is about 11.42 trillion won in positive relations, and 26.89 billion won in negative relations. 2) the ERE of SK in positive relations is 24.32 trillion won in production inducement effect, 8.1 trillion won in value-added inducement effect, 3.54 trillion won in import inducement effect, and 70,930 persons in employment inducement effect. But the ERE was insufficient in the negative relations. 3) SK's efficient investment method is providing materials and equipment by SK and building the TKR by North Korea in positive inter-Korea relations. Conclusions: For the successful operation of TKR, international cooperation, legalization and stable peace settlement on the Korean Peninsula are required.

For a given positive integer l and a palindromic sequence of positive integers ${\alpha}_1,\;{\ldots},\;{\alpha}_{l-1},$ we define the set $S(l;{\alpha}_1,\;{\ldots},\;{\alpha}_{l-1})\;:=\;\{d{\in}{\mathbb{Z}}{\mid}d>0,\;{\sqrt{d}}=[{\alpha}_0,\;{\bar{{\alpha}_1,\;{\ldots},\;{\alpha}_{l-1},\;2_{{\alpha}_0}}],\;where\;{\alpha}_0={\lfloor}{\sqrt{d}}{\rfloor}\}.$ In this paper, we completely determine when $S(l;{\alpha}_1,\;{\ldots},\;{\alpha}_{l-1})$ is not empty in the case that l is 4, 5, 6, or 7. We also give similar results for $(1+{\sqrt{d}})/2.$ For the case that l is 4, 5, or 6, we explicitly describe the fundamental units of the real quadratic field ${\mathbb{Q}}({\sqrt{d}}).$ Finally, we apply our results to the Mordell conjecture for the fundamental units of ${\mathbb{Q}}({\sqrt{d}}).$

The Effect of ChatGPT Factors & Innovativeness on Switching Intention : Using Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA)

  • Purpose: This study examined the relationship between the factors (Credibility, Usability) and user Innovativeness of the ChatGPT on TRA (Theory of Reasoned Action; Subjective Norm, Attitude) and Switching Intention. TRA and Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) were used. Research design, data and methodology: From April 26 to 27, 2023, an online panel survey agency was commissioned to conduct a survey of GhatGPT users in their 20s and 40s in Korea, and a total of 210 people were used for the final analysis. Verification of the research model was performed using SPSS and AMOS. Results: First, ChatGPT factors (Credibility, Usability) were found to have positive effects on TRA (Subjective Norm, Attitude). Second, ChatGPT user Innovativeness was found to have a positive effect on TRA (Subjective Norm, Attitude). Third, ChatGPT users' TRA (Subjective Norm, Attitude) were found to have positive effects on Switching Intention. Conclusions: These results mean that the superior Usability and Credibility of ChatGPT and the Innovativeness of users have a significant effect on the Switching Intention from existing Portal Service (Naver, Google, Daum, etc.) to ChatGPT. Generative AI such as ChatGPT should strive to develop various services such as improving the convenience of functions so that innovative users can use them easily and conveniently in order to provide services that meet expectations.

  • 사이버 공격으로 인한 국가, 기업 등의 피해를 막기 위해 공격자의 접근을 사전에 감지하는 이상 탐지 기술이 꾸준히 연구되어왔다. 외부 혹은 내부에서 침입하는 공격들을 즉각적으로 막기 위해 실행시간의 감축과 오탐지 감소는 필수불가결하다. 본 연구에서는 공격 이벤트의 유형과 빈도가 이상 탐지 정탐률 향상 및 오탐률 감소에 영향을 미칠 것으로 가설을 세우고, 검증을 위해 Los Alamos National Laboratory의 2015년 로그인 로그 데이터셋을 사용하였다. 전처리 된 데이터를 대표적인 이상행위 탐지 알고리즘에 적용한 결과, 공격 이벤트 유형과 빈도를 동시에 적용한 특성을 사용하는 것이 이상행위 탐지의 오탐률과 수행시간을 절감하는데 매우 효과적임을 확인하였다.

카메라 기반 객체의 위치인식을 위한 왜곡제거 및 오검출 필터링 기법 (Distortion Removal and False Positive Filtering for Camera-based Object Position Estimation)

  • Robotic arms have been widely utilized in various labor-intensive industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and food services, contributing to increasing productivity. In the development of industrial robotic arms, camera sensors have many advantages due to their cost-effectiveness and small sizes. However, estimating object positions is a challenging problem, and it critically affects to the robustness of object manipulation functions. This paper proposes a method for estimating the 3D positions of objects, and it is applied to a pick-and-place task. A deep learning model is utilized to detect 2D bounding boxes in the image plane, and the pinhole camera model is employed to compute the object positions. To improve the robustness of measuring the 3D positions of objects, we analyze the effect of lens distortion and introduce a false positive filtering process. Experiments were conducted on a real-world scenario for moving medicine bottles by using a camera-based manipulator. Experimental results demonstrated that the distortion removal and false positive filtering are effective to improve the position estimation precision and the manipulation success rate.

Expression Analysis of MiR-21, MiR-205, and MiR-342 in Breast Cancer in Iran

  • MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNA molecules characterized by their regulatory roles in cancer and gene expression. We analyzed the expression of miR-21, miR-205, and miR-342 in 59 patients with breast cancer. Samples were divided into three different groups according to their immunohistochemistry (IHC) classification: ER- positive and/or PR-positive group ($ER^+$ and/or $PR^+$; group I); HER2-positive group ($HER^{2+}$; group II); and ER/ PR/ HER2- negative ($ER^-$/ $PR^-$/ $HER^{2-}$; group III) as the triple negative group. The expression levels of the 3 miRNAs were analyzed in the tumor samples and the compared with the normal neighboring dissected tumor (NNDT) samples in all three groups. The expression of miR-21 was similar in all three groups. In patients positive for P53 by IHC, positive for axillary lymph node metastasis and higher tumor stages, it appeared to have significantly elevated. However, significant increase was not found among the 18 fibroadenoma samples. Both miR-205 and miR-342 expressions were significantly down regulated in group III. We conclude that miR-21 does not discriminate between different breast cancer groups. In contrast, miR-205 and miR-342 may be used as potential biomarkers for diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer.

This work is a more general version of the result of Nunokawa and Thomas [11].
