(PIM-co-Ellagic Acid)-기반의 이산화탄소 분리막의 개발 ((PIM-co-Ellagic Acid)-based Copolymer Membranes for High Performance CO2 Separation)

  • (PIM-1)과 ellagic acid로 만든 랜덤형 공중합체가 간단한 방법으로 합성되었으며, 이산화탄소 분리막에 대한 적용 가능성에 대해서 연구하였다. 이 공중합체의 경우 PIM (polymers with intrinsic microporosity) 고분자의 미세 기공 구조에 기인한 높은 기체 투과도와 평면 구조와 친수성을 갖는 ellagic acid에 기인한 높은 이산화탄소에 대한 선택성에 의해 우수한 이산화탄소 기체 분리 성능을 나타내었다. 즉, 이산화탄소에 대한 투과도 4516 Barrer와 CO2/N2 (> 23~26) 및 CO2/CH4 (>18~19)의 높은 선택성으로 두 쌍의 가스 혼합물에 대해 Robeson 상한(2008)을 초과한 결과를 나타내었다. 이와 같이 PIM-1에 평면구조를 갖는 ellagic acid을 혼입하면 PIM-1의 꼬인 구조를 방해하여 기체 투과성을 향상 시킬 뿐만 아니라 공중합체의 강성과 극성이 증가하여 N2 및 CH4에 대한 CO2의 선택성을 증가시키는 결과를 확인하였다.

Three-dimensional vibration analysis of 3D graphene foam curved panels on elastic foundations

  • This paper has focused on presenting a three dimensional theory of elasticity for free vibration of 3D-graphene foam reinforced polymer matrix composites (GrF-PMC) cylindrical panels resting on two-parameter elastic foundations. The elastic foundation is considered as a Pasternak model with adding a Shear layer to the Winkler model. The porous graphene foams possessing 3D scaffold structures have been introduced into polymers for enhancing the overall stiffness of the composite structure. Also, 3D graphene foams can distribute uniformly or non-uniformly in the shell thickness direction. The effective Young's modulus, mass density and Poisson's ratio are predicted by the rule of mixture. Three complicated equations of motion for the panel under consideration are semi-analytically solved by using 2-D differential quadrature method. The fast rate of convergence and accuracy of the method are investigated through the different solved examples. Because of using two-dimensional generalized differential quadrature method, the present approach makes possible vibration analysis of cylindrical panels with two opposite axial edges simply supported and arbitrary boundary at the curved edges. It is explicated that 3D-GrF skeleton type and weight fraction can significantly affect the vibrational characteristics of GrF-PMC panel resting on two-parameter elastic foundations.

고성능 역전기투석을 위한 세공충진 음이온교환막의 개발 (Development of Pore-Filled Anion-Exchange Membranes for High Performance Reverse Electrodialysis)

  • 역전기투석(reverse electrodialysis, RED)은 이온교환막을 격막으로 이용하여 해수와 담수의 농도차로부터 발전하는 유망한 친환경 재생에너지 기술 중 하나이다. 이온교환막은 RED의 성능을 좌우하는 핵심 구성요소로 낮은 전기적 저항, 높은 이온선택투과도, 우수한 내구성 및 저렴한 제조 비용 등의 요구조건을 만족시켜야 한다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 두께 및 기공율을 갖는 다공성 고분자 지지체를 이용하여 세공충진 음이온교환막을 제조하고 이온교환 고분자의 조성과 막 두께가 RED의 발전 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 이온교환막의 전기적 저항이 충분히 낮은 경우 RED 발전 성능은 주로 막의 apparent permselectivity에 의해 좌우됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 막의 apparent permselectivity는 IEC, 가교도, 막 두께, 표면 개질 등을 통해 향상시킬 수 있으며 전기적 저항과의 trade off 관계를 고려하여 최적 조건을 찾아야 함을 확인하였다.

Enhancement of mechanical and durability properties of preplaced lightweight aggregate concrete

  • In this study, the effect of two types of aggregates (fly ash aggregate and shale aggregate) on the density, strength, and durability of preplaced lightweight aggregate concrete (PLWAC) was studied. The results showed that the 7 - 28 days strength of concrete prepared with fly ash aggregates (high water absorption rate) significantly increased, which could attribute to the long-term water release of fly ash aggregates by the refined pore structure. In contrast, the strength increase of concrete prepared with shale aggregates (low water absorption rate) is not apparent. Although PLWAC prepared with fly ash aggregates has a lower density and higher strength (56.8 MPa @ 1600 kg/m3), the chloride diffusion coefficient is relatively high, which could attribute to the diffusion paths established by connected porous aggregates and the negative over-curing effect. Compared to the control group, the partial replacement of fly ash aggregates (30%) with asphalt emulsion (20% solid content) coated aggregates can reduce the chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete by 53.6% while increasing the peak load obtained in a three-point bending test by 107.3%, fracture energy by 30.3% and characteristic length by 103.5%. The improvement in concrete performance could be attributed to the reduction in the water absorption rate of aggregates and increased energy absorption by polymer during crack propagation.

고온 고분자 전해질막 연료전지 수소극 전극에서 서로 다른 가스 확산층에 따른 최적 바인더 함량 결정 (Determination of Optimum Binder Content in the Catalyst Layer with Different GDL for Anode of HT-PEMFC)

  • Two different gas diffusion layers having noticeable differences in micro-porous layer's (MPL's) crack were studied as a substrate for the gas diffusion electrode (GDE) with different binder/carbon (B/C) ratios in high-temperature polymer electrolyte fuel cell (Ht-PEMFC). As a result, the performance defined as the voltage at 0.2 A/cm2 and maximum power density from the single cells using GDEs from H23 C2 and SGL38 BC with different B/C ratios were compared. GDEs from H23 C2 showed a proportional increase of the voltage with the binder content on the other hand GDEs from SGL38 BC displayed a proportional decline of the voltage to the binder content. It was revealed that MPL crack influences the structure of catalyst layer in GDEs as well as affects the RCathode which is in close connection with the Ht-PEMFC performance.

동결건조에 의한 극저유전성 실리카 에어로겔 박막 합성공정 개발 (Process Development for Synthesis of Ultra-low Dielectric SiO2 Aerogel Thin by Freeze Drying)

  • 동결건조법에 의한 저유전성 실리카 박막의 제조공정 개발 및 층간 절연물질로의 응용성이 연구되었다. 코팅용 폴리머 실리카 졸은 TEOS와 이소프로판올(iso-propanol:IPA)또는 터트부탄올(tert-butanol:TBA)을 용매로한 2단계 공정에 의하여 제조되었으며, 이들 졸을 p-Si(111)웨이퍼 상에 스핀코팅한 습윤겔 박막을 동결건조 하여 다공성 실리카 박막을 제조하였다. 균일한 박막 코팅층을 얻을 수 있는 실리카 졸의 최적 점도범위는 IPA와 TBA를 용매로 한 실리카 졸의 경우 각각 10~14 cP와 20~30cP 정도였으며 스핀속도는 2000 rpm 이상이었다. 결함이 없는 다공성 실리카 박막은 TBA(빙점 $25^{\circ}C$)를 동결용매로 하여-196$^{\circ}C$까지 급랭시킨 후 $0^{\circ}C$와 0.1 torr 까지 가열 감압한 상태에서 고상의 TBAFMF 모두 제거한 다음 20$0^{\circ}C$까지 열처리하여 제조되었다. 다공성 실리카 박막의 두께는 졸의 타입과 스핀코팅 속도에 의해 2500~15000$\AA$범위 내에서 제어가 가능하였으며 이들 막의 밀도와 유전상 수 값은 각각 0.9$\pm$0.3g/㎤(기공율 60$\pm$10%)과 2.4 정도였다.

전기방사를 이용한 슈퍼캐퍼시터용 금속산화물/탄소나노섬유 복합체 (Electrospun Metal Oxide/Carbon Nanofiber Composite Electrode for Supercapacitor Application)

  • 나노 탄소재료를 복합화하면 기존 재료의 특성을 유지하면서 그 효율을 극대화할 수 있다. 여기에 이종원소를 부가하면 전기화학적인 특성이 디자인되므로, 나노 탄소재료의 복합화를 통해 한 종류의 나노 재료로부터 여러 강점을 얻을 수 있다. 특히 탄소나노섬유와 금속산화물을 복합화하면 탄소나노섬유의 전기이중층 뿐만 아니라 금속산화물의 산화 환원 반응을 이용하여 비축전 용량, 고율 특성, 수명 특성이 향상되고 높은 수준의 출력밀도가 유지되는 고용량 슈퍼 캐퍼시터용 전극 소재를 개발할 수 있다. 본 총설에서는 탄소의 고출력특성과 금속산화물의 고에너지 특성이 동시에 발현되는 금속산화물계 탄소나노섬유복합체의 제법과 응용에 대한 최신연구를 다루도록 하겠다.

Fabrication of PVDF Structures by Near Field Electrospinning

  • Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has drawn much attention due to its many advantages. PVDF shows high mechanical strength and flexibility, thermal stability, and good piezoelectricity enabling its application to various fields such as sensors, actuators, and energy transducers. Further studies have been conducted on PVDF in the form of thin films. The thin films exhibit different ionic conductivity according to the number of pores within the film, letting these films to be applied as electrolytes or separators of batteries. Porous PVDF membranes are also easily processed, usually made by using electrospinning. However, a large portion of researches were conducted using PVDF membranes produced by far field electrospinning, which is not a well-controlled experimental method. In this paper, we use near field electrospinning (NFES) process for more controlled, small-scaled, mesh type PVDF structures of nano to micro fibers fabricated by controlling process parameters and investigate the properties of such membranous structures. These membranes vary according to geometrical shape, pore density, and fiber thickness. We then measured the mechanical strength and piezoelectric characteristic of the structures. With various geometries in the fiber structures and various scales in the fibers, these types of structures can potentially lead to broader applications for stretchable electronics and dielectric electro active polymers.

말레에이트계 공중합체 I-l3막의 공기/물에서의 계면 특성 (The Air/water Interface Characteristics of Maleate Copolymer LB Films)

  • Stable polyion-complexed polymeric monolayrers were prepared by spreading perfluoroalkyl monomaleatd copolymers. C$_2$F$\_$8/MA-VE$_2$ and C$_2$F$\_$8/Mv-VE$_3$ on aqueous poly(allylamine) subphase. The monolayer properties have been studied by the surface pressure-area($\pi$-A) isotherms. The C$_2$F$\_$8/MA-VE$_3$containing longer oligoethyleneglycol pendant showed more expaned monolayer phase than the C$_2$F$\_$8/MA-VE$_2$ The polyion-complexed monolayers were transferable on various substrates, and the resulting Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films were characterized b ET-IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) Two-dimensional crosslinking to from a polymer network was achieved by amide formation through heat treatment under vacuum with concurrent removel of perfluoroalkyl tails. SEM observation of this film ona porous membrane filter showed that the four layer film was sufficiently stable to cover the filter pore size of 0.1$\mu\textrm{m}$. The C$_2$F$\_$8/MA-VE$_3$revealed better covering capability than the C$_2$F$\_$8/MA-VE$_2$Immersion of this film in water or in benzend did not cause any change in its appearance and in FT-IR spectra.

다공성 $CaCO_{3}$가 발포핵제로서 초미세 발포에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Porous CaCO3 on Micro-cellular Plastics as an Additive for Nucleation)

  • Plastics are widely used in industry, because they are light, easily manufactured, and have high specific strength. And many researches to increase the strengths and to reduce the price are being conducted at now. One of these researches is concerning to additives. Foaming techniques are used to endow insulation properties, to improve specific strength, or reduce the material cost. Due to their unique properties, foamed plastics are applied to refrigerator, pipe, and insulators. Micro-cellular foaming is the latest foaming technique that was invented at 1980 in MIT. It is known that many tiny small cells are generated in the polymer matrices and micro-cellular foamed plastics show relatively high specific strength. We investigated the role of CaCO3 which is one of the most widely used additives in plastics industry as an additive for nucleation in view of cell morphology. CaCO3 used in this paper was treated to increase the dispersibility and to lower the density, so it has many pores at his body. Two experiments were conducted, in order to check the role of an additive for nucleation. One is compound-ability and the other one is role of nucleation agents.
