Performance Improvement of Epoxy Resin System by the Filler Reformation (충진제 개질을 통한 에폭시복합체의 성능개선)

  • In this study, the performance improvement of epoxy resin system had been tried by the improvement of particle size distribution and globularization of filler using polymerization method. From the results of particle size distribution measurement, the polydispersity value of reformed filler was 1.04 and that of silica flour before reformation was 2.6, it could be confirmed that the particle size uniformity of reformed filler had been improved greatly and the shape of particle was globular. Compatibility between monomer and silica was improved remarkably with the silanization pretreatment of silica flour. From the results of degree of crosslinking test, it could be confirmed that the binding structure of reformed filler was 3-dimensional net structure. And it could be also confirmed that the fluidness was improved at the casting of epoxy resin with reformed filler. From the above results, it could be concluded that the reformation of filler with the improvement of particle size distribution and globularization was very successful method to improve the performance of cast epoxy resin system.

Crosslinking Density Control and Its Carbonization Characteristics of Spherical Phenolic Resin Particles by Using Cresol as Comonomer (구형 페놀수지 입자의 크레졸을 이용한 가교조절 및 탄화물성 변화)

  • Spherical phenolic resin beads were synthesized by suspension polymerization at 98 ℃ from phenol, ortho-cresol, formaldehyde, with triethylamine as a basic catalyst, and spherical phenol-cresol copolymer resin beads with relatively low crosslinking density as well. Phenol reacts with formaldehyde at two ortho- and one para- positions to form a crosslinked structure, but ortho-cresol instead of phenol reduces the crosslinking density during copolymerization due to the methyl group at a ortho- position. As a result, spherical phenol-cresol copolymer beads showed more shrinkage with decreasing apparent density compared to the spherical phenol beads when carbonized at 700 ℃ under nitrogen. As the molecular weight of the cresol oligomer increases, the pore radius of the carbonized copolymer beads decreases, which is consistent with the density and shrinkage results. It was confirmed that the characteristics such as density decrease, shrinkage, yield and so on during carbonization can be controlled by controlling the degree of crosslinking of the spherical phenolic resin particles with cresol.

Studies on the Preparation and the Properties of Chitosan Oligosaccharide and its Derivatives (키토산 올리고사카라이드 및 그 유도체의 제조와 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Chitosan oligosaccharides having aldehyde group at reducing end were prepared by oxidative-deamination reaction of chitosan by using sodium nitrite, and the resulting aldehyde group was reduced to 2, 5-anhydro-D-mannitol group. The obtained chitosan oligosaccharides showed an average degree of polymerization 2~3 by gel permeation chromatography analysis. It was highly soluble in hydrophilic solvents and thermally stable. N, N-diacyl, O-acyl chitosan oligosaccharides were obtained from the reaction between chitosan oligosaccharides and acyl chloried under dimethylaminopyridine. From differential scanning calorimetric measurement, N, N-dilauroyl, O-lauroyl chitosan oligosaccharides showed mesophase region, which was confirmed by polarized microscope as a thermotropic liquid crystalline state. X-ray diffraction pattern revealed that N, N-dilauroyl, O-lauroyl chitosan oligosaccharedes were highly crystalline, whereas chitosan oligosaccharides were not.

  • Alginate beads were prepared using poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-dimethylamino ethyl methacrylate)(P(NIPAM-co-DMAEMA)). First, P(NIPAM-co-DMAEMA) was immobilized on the surface of alginate beads by taking advantage of electrostatic interaction between alginate and P(NIPAM-co-DMAEMA). Second, P(NIPAM-co-DMAEMA) was contained in the matrix of alginate beads. P(NIPAM-co-DMAEMA) were prepared by a free radical polymerization at 74C for 12 h. The weight ratio of NIPAM to DMAEMA monomer was 95/5. The copolymer was identified by 1H-NMR. Releases from the alginate beads were observed at 30, 37, and 45C using blue dextran or FITC-dextran(fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran) as a model drug. The effect of temperature on the degree of release from the beads was insignificant. FITC-dextran was released more than blue dextran possibly due to its smaller molecular weight.

  • A method for synthesizing branched fructo-oligosaccharides (BFOS) with a high concentration of sucrose (1\~3 M) was developed using levansucrase prepared from Leuconortoc mesenteroides B-1355C. The degree of polymerization of oligosaccharides synthesized according to the present method ranged from 2 to over 15. The synthesized BFOS were stable at a pH ranges of 2 to 4 under 120C. The percentage of BFOS in the reaction digest was 95.7% (excluding monosaccharides; 4.3% was levan). BFOS reduced the insoluble glucan formation by Streptococcus sobrinus on the surfaces of glass vials or stainless steel wires in the presence of sucrose. They also reduced the growth and acid productions of S, sobrinus. Oligosaccharides can be used as sweeteners for foods such as beverages requiring thermo- and acid-stable properties and 3s potential inhibitors of dental caries.

Development of Basic Pattern of Wedding Dress I - Focused on Torso Pattern for Top Dresses -

  • This thesis intends to suggest a new wedding dress pattern through researches on history and changes of wedding dress, researches on silhouette and details and analyses of existing basic patterns. In this study, to develop torso patterns of top dresses selected as preferred designs through literature reviews and company surveys, dress form sizes suitable for standard sizes were selected and study basic patterns were made using draping techniques. The study finds characteristics of body type dimension that is changed when wearing brassiere (hereinafter, 'bra') for wedding dress through customer surveys for development of basic patterns of wedding dress. That is, wearing wedding bra was used for the purpose of increasing the bust size and we will evaluate later whether this increase helps completeness of aesthetic impression through wearing evaluation. As the result, it was found out that top torso pattern wearing wedding bra made wearers feel more comfortable and in the aspect of aesthetic impression, it provided impacts on women's beautiful silhouettes. The effects of whether a bra is used or not on changes in patterns were reviewed through the degree of polymerization of finished patterns. When a bra for dresses was worn, the waist front length increased by1.7cm, the bust circumference increased by 2.1cm, and the amount of dart increased by 1.5cm in the patterns. A new torso pattern for top dresses, which will solve problems evaluated in each of the above from the aspect of composition of pattern by a method through analysis of existing basic patterns and multi-dimensional cut patterns wearing wedding bra, will be suggested.

Study of Physico-Chemical Properties of N,N-Diacyl, O-Acyl Chitosan Oligomer (N,N-디아실, O-아실 키토산 올리고머의 물리화학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Chitosan oligomer having aldehyde group at reducing end was prepared by oxidative-deamination reaction of chitosan by using sodium nitrite, and the resulting aldehyde group was redeced to 2,5-anhydro-D-mannitol group. The obtained chitosan oligomer showed an average degree of polymerization(DP) 2 by GPC analysis. It was highly soluble in lipophilic solvents. N,N-diacyl, O-acyl chitosan oligomer was obtained trom the reaction between chitosan oligomer and acyl chloride under 4-dimethoxyaminopyridine catalyst. From DSC measurement, N,N-dilauroyl, O-lauroyl chitosan oligomer showed mesophase region, which was confirmed by polarizing microscope as thermotropic liquid crystalline state. X-ray diffraction pattern revealed that N,N-dilauroyl, O-lauroyl chitosan oligomer was highly crystalline, whereas chitosan oligomer was not.

Molecular Structural Properties of Waxy Rice Starch (찹쌀 전분의 분자 구조적 성질)

  • Molecular structural properties of Japonica and Tongil type waxy rice starches were compared. The general properties including water-binding capacity, swelling power at 80C, intrinsic viscosity, leach loss at 98C and βamylolysis limit were similar but the chain length was slightly different between the two starches. Similar elution profiles on Sephadex G-50 were obtained when the starches were treated with βamylase. The pullulanase treated starches however showed different elution patterns each other. The βamylolysis of acid-treated (2 days) starches linearly increased as hydrolysis time prolonged. When the acid-treated starches were hydrolyzed with βamylase or pullulanase, the elution profiles on Sepharose CL-2B were considerably different from those of native starches.

  • Epoxy-methacrylate prepolymer was synthesized from methacrylic acid and a diglycidyl ether type low molecular weight epoxy resin, and the electron beam curing of the prepolymer was studied using styrene and polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylates as comonomers. The esterification was carried out quantitatively without any side reaction adding more than 250∼300ppm hydroquinone and less than 1% (wt) triethanolamine by wt. of methacrylate acid, respectively. In the radiation curing under air atmosphere, the maximum gel fraction was observed at 10∼30% monomer contents. The rate of gel formation was decreased by the presence of unreacted epoxy group and acid in the prepolymer and increased with increasing degree of polymerization of polyethyleneglycol block in the dimethacrylates. Considerable oxygen effect in the curing, particularly when polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylate was used as a comonomer, was recognized through the differences of the product properties, though no remarkable differences were found in the rate of gel formation in air and nitrogen atmosphere.

A Study on a Pattern Design for Pleated Skirts Based on the Amount of Waist Darts by Somatotype (체형별 허리 다트량을 활용한 플리츠 스커트 원형 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This research proposes a pattern design method for 24 pleated skirts in order to develop an automatic draft program for pleated skirts that will enhance fit and enable mass production. The research method and results are outlined as follow. 1. Three-dimensional body measurements were conducted on 30 randomly selected women in their 20s. By using 34 body measurement items and 6 types of calculations among the items, the items required in the designing of an original pleated skirt were extracted. They were then interpreted through correlation analysis, variance analysis, a t-test, linear regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. 2. An extra amount was added to the waist measurement and external capsule measurement according to the number of times the pleats coincided and the thickness of the fabric by the degree of polymerization of the horizontal cross section (the test of this research: 0.518mm). The extra amount of waist measurement was 3.6cm while the hip measurement was 4.3cm larger than the hip measurement combined with the external capsule measurement and the extra amount. 3. Based on the ±standard deviation/2 as the average of the difference between the external capsule measurement and waist measurement, the subjects were classified into 3 somatotypes. Somatotype 1 presented an average total length of waist darts of 23.6cm while that of somatotype 2 was 26.2cm and that of somatotype 3 was 30.2cm. It has been confirmed that there is a significant difference among somatotypes in the total length of waist darts from the front center to the front side and the total length of waist darts from the side to the back center in terms of the average amount of waist darts for every 12 parts on the WL.
