  • This review addresses the pressing need for effective wastewater treatment methodologies by exploring advanced thin-film nanocomposite (TFN) nanofiltration membranes aimed at efficient dye removal from industrial effluents. Utilizing insights from recent research, the review focuses on the fabrication of TFN membranes incorporating innovative materials such as nanocarbons, silica nanospheres, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and MoS2. The primary goals are to enhance dye removal efficiency, improve antifouling properties, and maintain high selectivity for dye/salt separation. By leveraging the distinct advantages of these nanomaterials-including large surface areas, mechanical robustness, and specific pollutant interaction capabilities-this review aims to overcome the limitations of current nanofiltration technologies and provide sustainable solutions for water treatment challenges.

  • The objective of this study is development of low emission pulverized coal combustor for reducing pollutant emission generated from coal combustion. Low emission combustion technology for reducing NOx and fly ash was investigated by using 2 stage coaxial cyclone combustor. Staged combustion was employed for NOx reduction and high temperature slagging combustion was also studied for fly ash removal in the combustor. The result of this study shows that the low emission combustion system can reduce the amount of atmospheric pollutions with improved boiler efficiency and performance.

  • As the upsurge in oil prices and global warming, Energy saving is needed to overall industry. If The head of Intake gate screen is high. The pumping process involves a loss of energy and results in high emissions of greenhouse gases. Therefore, blockages in intake gate should be free. Another advantage of cleaning is stabilizing pumping system. Because vibration and cavitation decreases when loss of head is low.

  • Dye wastewater was treated by using an electrochemical oxidation process. Various combinations of electrodes such as carbon, Al and Fe were investigated. In this study, electrode material, electrolyte concentration, electrode distance, current density, and pH value were found to have significant effect on both pollutant removal efficiency and current efficiency in electrochemical oxidation process. After electrolysis for 40min with carbon/Al, it was observed that COD, $T-N, NH_{4}^{+}-N$ and color of treated wastwater were reduced from 580mg/$\ell$ to 145mg/$\ell$, 67.2mg/$\ell$ to 26.8mg/$\ell$, 46.8mg/$\ell$ to 1.4mg/$\ell$, and 4200 Pt-Co units to 336 Pt-Co units, respectively. The optimal conditions of the electrooxidation process to treat the wastewater for this study were found to be such : current density ; 16.67mA/$cm^2$, electrode distance ; 2.5cm, pH value ; 5.0 and carbon/Al electrode.

  • In order to reduce the pollution load from the livestock farms and to improve the water quality of the effluent in livestock wastewater, the electrolysis system is introduced. For the selection of optimal electrode, various combination of electrodes such as carbon, Al and Fe were examined. In this study, electrode material, electrolyte concentration, electrode distance, current density, and pH value were found to have significant effect on both pollutant removal efficiency and current efficiency in electrochemical oxidation process. After electrolysis for 90 min with carbon/Al, it was observed that COD, T-N, T-P and $NH_4^+-N$ of livestock waste-water were removed with $80\%,\;61\%,\;81\%\;and\;87\%$, respectively.

  • A commercial-scale RDF boiler that its burning capacity is 400 kg-RDF/hr and steam production capacity is 2 ton/hr. It has a chain type stoker and waste heat recovery system. Heat exchanger is vertical water-pipe so that soot blowing and removal is convenient during operation. Dry scrubber, bag filter and activated carbon tower have been installed for the reduction of air pollutant gases and dust. Analysing data of pollutants from stack such as $SO_x$. $NO_x$ and dioxin shows so good results that the boiler system could comply the regulated emission limits.

  • Endosulfan is a chlorinated pesticide; its persistence in the environment and toxic effects on biota are demanding its removal. This study aims at improving the tolerance of the previously isolated fungus Aspergillus niger (A. niger) ARIFCC 1053 to endosulfan. Released chloride, dehalogenase activity, and released proteins were estimated along with analysis of endosulfan degradation and pathway identification. The culture could tolerate 1,000 mg/ml of technical grade endosulfan. Complete disappearance of endosulfan was seen after 168 h of incubation. The degradation study could easily be correlated with increase in released chlorides, dehalogenase activity and protein released. Comparative infrared spectral analysis suggested that the molecule of endosulfan was degraded efficiently by A. niger ARIFCC 1053. Obtained mass ion values by GC-MS suggested a hypothetical pathway during endosulfan degradation by A. niger ARIFCC 1053. All these results provide a basis for the development of bioremediation strategies to remediate the pollutant under study in the environment.

  • This study focuses on developing natural ventilation system which is able to satisfy the good indoor air quality and air speed. The natural ventilation system developed in this study is for double window façade and it has two operation modes for summer and winter. Operational sections of the devices have been analyzed by CFD simulation to calculate discharge coefficients of openings and estimated indoor air speed. For the analysis of the appropriate installation area ratio for each room and the optimum installation area, TRNFLOW simulation has been used. As the results, we could see that the natural ventilation system can provide the similar pollutant removal performance to 0.7 ACH of mechanical ventilation with appropriate installation area and installation area ratio.

  • In order to recycle the incineration ash (bottom ash and fly ash) generated from the incineration of municipal waste for a cement material, salts as well as heavy metal should be removed by the stabilization treatment. Most of these heavy metal and over 80% of salts are removed by a washing as a pre-treatment. However, wastewater which is another pollutant is generated by a washing, then proper treatment should be developed. First the characteristics of incineration ashes collected from two domestic full-sized incinerators were investigated and removal rate of salts and heavy metals from them also studied. The wastewater quality was compared to the criteria of the regulation by analyzing the characteristics of generated wastewater during the washing of incineration ash as a condition of liquid/solid ratio. Also, we tried to used this experimental results for the basic data to develop proper processing technique of municipal waste.

  • TCE and PCE, suspected carcinogens, are the most common groundwater pollutant from extensive use as a solvent and degreaser. Escherichia coli TGI pBSKAN TOM Green and E. coli TGI pBSKAN ToMO, which were used DNA shuffling technique, produce Toluene-o-monooxygenase(TOM) and toluene-o-xylene- monooxygenase(ToMO). These cells and enzymes are degrading TCE and PCE, TOM and ToMO are needed to cofactor, such as NADH, NADPH and other cofactors. Used TCE and PCE degrading microorganisms experiment the contaminated material removal efficiency. A shunting test used NAD and Hydrogen peroxide.
