천궁(川芎), 머위, 황련(黃連) 추출물 조성의 $Ca^{2+}$ 유입 억제를 통한 혈관이완 효능 (Effects of Cnidium officinale, Petasites japonicus, Coptis chinensis Extract Mixture on Vasodilation)

  • This study was performed to investigate a vasodilatory efficacy and its underlying mechanisms of the mixture of Cnidium officinale, Petasites japonicus and Coptis chinensis (CPC), CPC relaxed rat aortic vascular strips in endothelium-independant manner precontracted with phenylephrine or KCI(50mM), but the magnitude of relaxation was greater in KCI induced contraction. L-NAME, iNOS inhibitor, and methylen blue(MB), cGMP inhibitor, did not attenuate the relaxation responses of CPC. Furthermore, the contraction by increaseing $Ca^{2+}$ concentration (0.3-10.0mM) to a $Ca^{2+}$-free high $K^+$ (60mM) was significantly reduced by CPC pretreatment. These results suggest that the relaxation effect of CPC is related with the block of $Ca^{2+}$ influx via $Ca^{2+}$ channel.

Efficacy of immune-strengthening functional drinks in top-level athletes: a questionnaire survey-based research

  • [Purpose] Functional beverages are intended to support those who want to maintain optimal physical condition and improve their quality of life through the enhancement of heart health, immunity, and digestion. The purpose of this study was to investigate the performance of top-level athletes consuming immune-strengthening conditioning nutritional drinks. [Methods] A total of 107 top-level athletes (baseball (56 players), pro volleyball (17), athletics (16), cycling (8), golf (6), and fencing (6)) participated in the experiment. They consumed an immune-enhancing functional beverage once a day for 8 weeks and responded to a survey before, during, and after drinking the beverage. [Results] Three total aspect-based subfactors were drawn from 24 questions in the factor analysis: physical, satisfaction with mental stability, and activity in performance. The physical, mental stability and performance changes of athletes significantly increased in period 2 (4 weeks after intake) and period 3 (after 8 weeks of intake). [Conclusion] We evaluated the efficacy of a new conditioned beverage containing Lactobacillus B240 and protein in improving the performance and physiological utility of top athletes. This functional drink may gain popularity among those seeking health benefits and improved exercise performance.

대상포진 후 신경통의 중의치료 최신 연구 동향 - CNKI 검색을 중심으로 (A Review of Clinical Studies of Chinese Medicine Treatment for Postherpetic Neuralgia - Research using CNKI Database)

  • Postherpetic neuralgia(PHN) is one of the most common intractable chronic pain syndromes. This review was conducted to investigates the trends in recent clinical studies of PHN in China and to find out the efficacy of Chinese medicine treatment for PHN. Based on CNKI databases, nineteen randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were analyzed. The search focused on the authors, publication year, sample size, age, duration of illness, treatment period, lesion sites, methods, outcome measures, and results of the selected articles. Four studies used herbal medicine. The most frequently used herbs were Angelicae Gigantis Radix(當歸) and Corydalis Tube(玄胡索). Eighteen studies used acupuncture treatment. The most frequently used acupoints were ST36, LR3, LI4. Three studies used moxibustion and 5 studies used cupping treatment. In all nineteen studies, the efficacy of Chinese medicine treatments was confirmed. More varied and scientifically designed clinical studies are required to develop treatments for PHN. The results of current study could be used as guidance for further studies of treatment on PHN.

기초학습부진아동의 내·외적동기에 따른 학업적 실패내성, 우울, 학업효능감에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Inner/External Motive of Children with Underachievement in Basic Learning on Academic Failure Tolerance, Depression and Academic Efficacy)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생 기초학습부진아동의 내·외적동기, 학업적 실패내성(감정, 행동, 과제선호도), 우울(우울정서, 행동장애, 흥미상실, 자기비하, 생리적 증상), 학업효능감과의 관계를 알아보고, 내·외적동기에 영향을 주는 변인을 밝히는 목적이 있다. G광역시 10개 초등학교 기초학습부진아동 3학년과 학년 56명을 대상으로 하였다. 기초학습부진아동의 학년별 차이를 알아보기 위해 t검정을 하였고, 내·외적동기 예언변인을 알아보기 위해 회귀분석을 하였다. 첫째, 초등학생 기초학습부진아동의 외적동기에서 3학년과 5학년 간에 차이가 나타났다. 즉 기초학습부진아동은 부모의 강요나 처벌을 피하기 위해서 행동을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 학습부진 아동의 외적동기에 영향을 주는 변인으로는 우울정서, 흥미상실, 생리적 증상으로 나타났다. 그러나 내적동기에 영향을 주는 변인은 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 초등학생 기초학습부진 3학년 학생들은 5학년 학생들보다 외적동기에 의해 공부를 하는 것으로 나타났고, 외적동기에 영향을 주는 우울 변인들을 감소시키는 프로그램 도입이 필요하겠다.

장뇌삼 및 장뇌삼엽차의 생리활성평가 (Physiological Evaluation of Korean Mountain Ginseng and Korean Mountain Ginseng Leaf Tea)

  • DPPH 라디칼 소거 활성 측정 결과 발효장뇌삼엽차의 추출물이 장뇌삼엽차의 추출물보다 활성이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 장뇌삼과 발효장뇌삼이 장뇌삼엽차와 발효장 뇌삼엽차보다 항산화 활성이 높은 결과를 얻었다. 장뇌삼과 발효장뇌삼의 항산화 활성은 비슷하였다. SOD 유사활성도 측정에서는 대조군인 vitamin C와 비교할 때 모든 군이 SOD 유사활성도가 약한 것으로 분석되었다. 아질산염 소거능은 pH 1.2, 3.0의 조건에서 1 mg/mL의 농도로 처리 하였을 때 아질산염 소거능이 장뇌삼엽차, 발효장뇌삼, 장뇌삼, 발효장뇌삼의 순으로 높은 것으로 나타났고, pH 6.0의 조건에서는 모든 군이 아질산염 소거능이 약한 것으로 분석되었다. HeLa cell에서 시료 중 장뇌삼과 발효장뇌삼엽차의 추출물이 1 mg/mL의 농도에서 30% 이상의 암세포 증식 억제율을 나타내었다. 발효장뇌삼과 장뇌삼엽차는 각각 약 24%, 22%로 분석되었다. MCF-7 cell 발효장뇌삼과 장뇌삼엽차의 추출물이 1 mg/mL의 농도에서 27% 이상의 암세포 증식 억제율을 나타내어 비슷하였고, 장뇌삼 추출액이 21%로 가장 낮았으며, 발효장뇌삼엽차 추출액이 70% 이상으로 나타나 암세포 증식 억제율이 각 시료 중 가장 높은 것으로 분석되었다.

생물전환 콩 배아추출물의 생리활성 및 화장품의 효능 연구 (Physiological activity and efficacy of cosmetic products in bio-converted soybean embryo extract)

  • 생물전환한 콩 배아추출물을 미용학적 측면에서의 생리활성을 연구하고 이를 함유한 수면 팩이 피부에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Pectinase로 생물전환 한 콩 배아추출물을 HPLC로 비배당체 이소플라본을 확인하였고, in vitro 실험한 결과 무독성, 항염증, 항멜라닌, 항노화의 활성이 나타났다. 이후 이를 함유한 수면 팩을 제조하여 4주간 인체적용시험한 결과 저자극으로 피부의 거칠기, 눈가 주름을 유의미하게 개선하여 생물전환 콩 배아추출물을 함유한 수면팩은 피부에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구를 통해 생물전환 콩 배아추출물은 피부의 생리 활성을 증진시키는 효능이 있고 다양한 제형의 화장품 소재로 활용 가치가 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

Extracellular Concentration of ⳑ-Cystine Determines the Sensitivity to System xc- Inhibitors

  • Targeting the cystine/glutamate exchange transporter, system xc-, is a promising anticancer strategy that induces ferroptosis, which is a distinct form of cell death mediated by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation. The concentration of ⳑ-cystine in culture medium is higher than the physiological level. This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of ⳑ-cystine concentration on the efficacy of ferroptosis inducers in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. This study showed that treatment with sulfasalazine or erastin, a system xc- inhibitor, decreased the viability of Huh6 and Huh7 cells in a dose-dependent manner, and the degree of growth inhibition was greater in medium containing a physiological ⳑ-cystine concentration of 83 µM than in commercial medium with a concentration of 200 µM ⳑ-cystine. However, RSL3, a glutathione peroxidase 4 inhibitor, decreased cell viability to a similar extent in media containing both ⳑ-cystine concentrations. Sulfasalazine and erastin significantly increased the percentages of propidium iodide-positive cells in media with 83 µM ⳑ-cystine, but not in media with 200 µM ⳑ-cystine. Sulfasalazine- or erastin-induced accumulation of lipid peroxidation as monitored by C11-BODIPY probe was higher in media with 83 µM ⳑ-cystine than in media with 200 µM ⳑ-cystine. In contrast, the changes in the percentages of propidium iodide-positive cells and lipid peroxidation by RSL3 were similar in both media. These results showed that sulfasalazine and erastin, but not RSL3, were efficacious under conditions of physiological ⳑ-cystine concentration, suggesting that medium conditions would be crucial for the design of a bioassay for system xc- inhibitors.

랫드에서 한방 혼합 추출물이 Ethanol의 약물동태학적 거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Mixed Extract for Elimination of Hangover on Ethanol Pharmacokinetics in Rats)

  • To investigate an efficacy of mixed extract with Ginseng radix, Puerariae lobata, Puerariae radix, Rubi pructus, Gomi pructus, Hoelen, Dried orange peel and Parvum comus cervi etc., on the hangover elimination, 12 hr-fasted male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 150-200 g were given mixed extract (5 mL/kg, p.o.) and administered ethanol at a dose of 3 g/kg bw (25% in distilled water) orally 30 min postdosing. Blood was collected from caudal artery at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12hr and then the animals were sacrificed at 24hr after the ethanol treatment. In these experiments, liver function indices, such as alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase activities, showed unaltered results in all treated groups compared with the normal group. The pharmacokinetics of ethanol after oral administration of mixed extract were also evaluated. From 0 min to 12hr, the administration of mixed extract showed 14% reduction of the area under the serum concentrations-versus-time curves (AUC) compared with the control group. The activities of alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase measured at 24hr postdosing were also not altered by the administration of mixed extract compared with the control group. These studies demonstrate that oral administration of mixed extract, prepared by traditional prescription, decreases the ethanol concentration in serum and reduces AUC, suggesting that the mixed extract is effective for elimination of ethanol-induced hangover.

조생종 배 '한아름'에 대한 GA4+7 및 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP) 처리 반응 (Response of Early-season Asian Pear 'Hanareum' Treated with GA4+7 to Postharvest Application of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP))

  • 본 연구에서는 지베렐린($GA_{4+7}$)을 0, 0.5, 1.2, 2.4% 농도로 조생종 '한아름' 배에 처리하고 수확 후 에틸렌 작용 억제제인 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP)를 $1{\mu}L{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 농도로 처리한 후, 20일간의 상온유통기간 중 과실품질 및 생리장해 발생에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 상온유통 기간 중 감모율의 변화는 $GA_{4+7}$ 농도와 관계없이 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 1-MCP 처리의 경우 상온유통 기간이 증가함에 따라 감모율이 약간 감소하는 것으로 나타났고 $GA_{4+7}$ 농도가 증가함에 따라 1-MCP 처리 효과는 떨어졌다. 상온유통 10일에 1-MCP를 처리하지 않은 모든 과실에서 경도가 급격하게 감소하였던 반면 1-MCP를 처리한 과실의 경우 상온유통 15일까지 30N 이상의 높은 경도를 나타내었다. 그러나 $GA_{4+7}$ 처리 농도가 증가할수록 1-MCP 처리 효과는 떨어지는 것으로 조사되었다. 1-MCP를 처리한 과실의 경우 상온유통 기간 동안 가용성고형물과 산함량이 높게 나타났으며, 과피색의 경우 $L^*$(밝기) 및 hue angles은 높게 조사되었지만 $a^*$(적색도)의 경우 1-MCP 무처리에 비해 낮게 나타났다. 상온유통 중 에틸렌 발생량은 $GA_{4+7}$ 처리 농도에 영향을 받지 않았고 1-MCP 처리는 에틸렌 발생량을 낮추지 못하는 것으로 조사되었다. 반면 1-MCP 처리 과실의 호흡률은 상온유통 20일간 유의하게 낮게 조사되었는데 1-MCP 처리 효과는 지베렐린을 처리하지 않은 구에서 가장 크게 나타났고 $GA_{4+7}$의 농도가 증가함에 따라 호흡률 감소 효과도 떨어졌다. 한편 1-MCP 처리는 상온유통 중 발생하는 과심갈변이나 분질과 같은 생리장해 발생 경감효과를 보여, $GA_{4+7}$ 농도와 상관없이 상온유통 15, 20일 동안 과심갈변과 분질과의 발생을 억제하였다.

저담의 효능에 관한 문헌연구 (Literature Study on the Efficacy of Fel Sus Scrofa)

  • Bile juice prevents deposition of cholesterol in the blood vessel, digests fat, and absorbs fatty acid and vitamins, and it plays a great role on metabolism. Recently, emotional stimulus and mentally over-depression cause a person to come to illness, and westernization of way of life makes more patients with cholelithiasis, resulting into without bile secretion after cholelithotomy. Ageing, and gastrectomy and kidney transplantation are also the causes of more cholelithiasis occurrences. To solve these medical problems, we studied how Fel Sus Scrofa, which is not different from human bile juice, was used in the traditional Korean medicine. We I researched flavor, property, efficacy of Fel Sus Scrofa and how it was used by folk medicine, and we studied the usage examples of Fel Sus Scrofa in Sanghanlon and Dongeuibogam. The property of Sus Scrofa is bitter and cold. Its efficacy is to deposit glycogen. So it is known that it has been widely used, with many edible forms, without any humoral loss, for the inflammatory disease from various fever, problems of urine and feces, cutaneous disease, pulmonary disease, opthalmopathy, fever, thirst from diabetes, hepatocystic duct disorder. Fel Sus Scrofa can be used internally and externally to prevent humoral loss, and to control cutaneous disease among various pediatric disorder full of fever. And as we have in mind that it also can be used to treat patients with cholestasis after cholecystectomy, it is expected that post study of it must be done.
